Beautiful hotel, elegantly furnished. Good-sized room with plenty of storage space. It was spotlessly clean with excellent provisions, including bottled water and biscuits. The bed was very comfortable. Shower over bath with shower curtain. Decent toilet paper! Our only complaint was that the room was too hot so we turned the radiator off for most of our weekend in February stay. The ceiling fan was useful. Breakfast was delicious, well-presented with a good selection of options. Evening meals were a bit pricey but absolutely delicious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were there for a 90th birthday party which was a complete success. The buffet was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for the waiters and the bar staff. We truly appreciated their care and attention to detail and would highly recommend this venue/hotel for any event/holiday.

Decent hotel. Very comfortable bed, shower needs an upgrade. Fresh water every day, nice biscuits! Superb restaurant, and lovely friendly staff. The food really was excellent. Rooms at the front can be noisy around 11pm-1am, though it may just be during Christmas party season as revellers leave and wait outside for taxis and lifts home. Lots of parking. If getting there using your satnav, it's on Leeds Rd. If your satnav tries to take you into a housing estate, ignore it, head for Leeds Rd.

5 stars could give more. One night stay rooms are small but comfortable and most important clean. Within the room, everything you need for a one night stay including free biscuits and a free bottle of water. Evening meal out of this world they have a fantastic chef, had beef so tender. Breakfast full English cooked fresh to order. Will definitely stay again.

Went here for Sunday lunch and it was brilliant food served by very friendly staff. I went for the roast beef, which was one of the best I have had in a long time, they even asked if I wanted the beef red or a little more well done. The quality and quantity of all the food served was excellent and nothing was too much to ask for. I just wish Heald's Hall was closer to our home so that we could visit it more often!

Stayed here a few times now. Good evening food( never tried the breakfast yet) friendly staff. Rooms are of good size although some at the back get noise from the kitchen down below. A good find tbh.

This is a well run hotel that also provides excellent dining for non residents. The dining area has recently been refurbished and the staff are pleasant and responsive. I recently enjoyed with friends an excellent Sunday roast lunch. My friends chose the roast lamb and I selected the Vegetarian nut roast. Gravy, a range of freshly cooked vegetables and the mandatory Yorkshire Pudding ensured we were very satisfied with our selection.

First time but certainly not the last. The food was quality, the service excellent (great manner from all the servers, special mention to Bobby) and the location fabulous. It's up there as one of my best dining experiences. See you in the New Year - AAB

Booked this place for the New Year's Eve Party. One of the party is gluten and dairy free so the meal had to be adapted which they did fantastically well. The rooms were fine. All the food was spot on and the room and DJ were great. We are already going to go next year.

Healds Hall is very well run, the staff are unfailingly attentive and friendly and the food is sumptuous, the wine list had a couple of surprises and during the drinks reception we were entertained by the Chris White Jazz Trio who added a touch of class

Our first visit here for Father's day lunch. Very pleasant restaurant with spotlessly clean table cloths and very neatly laid tables. Lots of choice on the menu and there was even an extra Father's day specials menu. Would definitely dine there again as the food and service was very good.

If you go, do not compare with other hotels. It will be worth it no matter how far the others are. peace, nature, and good tastes will be served to you with good service.

Wedding of our Dreams Healds Hall was the perfect venue for our wedding. Matt and the team pulled out all the stops for our big day to make our vision a reality. We asked for an outdoor ceremony which is something Healds Hall have never been able to do before, however this time around they made it happen! We had a lovely ceremony in the back garden of the property, and it was set up exactly the way we envisioned it. Matt and his team then did a quick turnaround to move the chairs inside to set up for the wedding breakfast. The wedding breakfast was brilliant, we heard nothing but compliments about the food from all our guests, we would highly recommend the roast beef dinner! After the wedding breakfast the HH team again we’re quick to turnaround the room ready for the night guests to arrive and the party to really start! Throughout the day Matt continually checked in with me and my new husband to make sure we we’re happy, he showed us each set up before allowing the guests to go through. He always had a smile on his face there was never any stress as far as we could see! We had several third parties booked for our wedding, a violinist, baker for the cake, live singer in the evening, decorating & a photo booth, matt communicated with each party to ensure they knew where to be and at what time to make sure everything went to the schedule. There was a small delay getting our cake cut and first dance at 8pm, but that is because our guests we’re thirsty and ready for a drink so to make sure everyone was happy he even jumped behind the bar to support his team. We had the perfect day, we would highly recommend Healds Hall to anyone who is looking to book their wedding venue, it has recently been renovated to a really high standard with some quirky features which we loved. All our guests said how beautiful the venue is and how friendly and helpful the staff we’re. Thank you HH, Mr & Mrs Haigh x

Lovely setting, twinkle lights in the trees give it a magical feel when you arrive. Toilets in need of a refurb and the chairs are way too high for the tables however the good is good and the portions are huge. Highly recommend the prawns. Incredible!!! Would return.

Bed very comfortable, linen lovely as was the towels. Bathroom fine, but room furniture rather old and tired. Breakfast was good but cooked food arrived before we had finished cereal. Lots of parking but small garden .

What a great place to stay ! I travel a lot and this was quite honestly one of the best places I've stayed. The food, staff and rooms were beyond exceptional! I had some trouble with my car and they were more than adequately patient whilst I sorted it ! I would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a great place to stay !

Never been to healds hall before and was invited for a funeral. Lovely building and a large rooms. Bar service was great and fairly priced. Small Buffett food which was awful egg shell in the egg and mayo sandwich’s and sausage rolls that tasted like they have been stood out all day. After chatting with the lady that organised it to find out that the food cost £1,000 I was and so was she extremely disappointed. All of the food got eaten ( only three small trays of sandwiches and tray of sausage rolls ) thinking more was to come out. Nothing did. I think if you are wanting a function there I would but definitely bring your own food. Food definitely not worth £1,000 Thanks

Could not fault anything food was excellent, our room was really clean and very comfortable, the young waiter who served us our evening meal was so attentive nothing was too much, the lady that served our lovely breakfast was very pleasant, Jo on reception was a joy and a big thank you to Joe the bar tender who found and returned my purse. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family in Yorkshire. Also excellent value for money, building and grounds beautiful. Lynne & Peter from Kent

Attended a wake here. Fresh sandwiches and finger buffet ok but lack of imagination in presentation. Far too much boring white bread! Drinks not too expensive and beer at correct temperature. Staff helpful. Toilets well looked after.

The building is stunning and parking was easy. Breakfast fine. Staff were friendly, but I would advise anyone staying to make sure that you are not being placed in room 112. I can see from previous reviews, other negative comments about room 112 and feel totally let down to have been placed in the room. It is a tired room. The blinds were dusty and weren’t fit for purpose as they didn’t block out the light from the illuminated tree. The bed frame, mirror and windows were also dusty. Stains on the carpet. The mattress was soft which some people may like, but my partner and I came away with back pain. The tv had to be reset on the 2nd night as the picture constantly broke up for 2 nights. The plumbing was atrocious. Hot water came out of the cold tap in the sink and bath. Had to be run for ages to get any cold. The shower was impossible to control by thermostat and ended up having the weakest shower to allow me to use it. The lady on reception was aware of the issue and confirmed plumbers had been out as other guests had mentioned, but kept saying there was no problem. The bath though was lovely and deep. The heated towel rail did not work. This room should not be let out with the plumbing as it is. I feel very disappointed and would not visit again.

Visited Healds Hall Hotel, for a wedding. Hotel set in nice grounds with tables chairs on patio, & veranda, function room well set out, with separate bar. The food was excellent, along with the service, a most enjoyable experience. Would definitely recommend a visit. Singing waiters were a Great Act, to the atmosphere.

We arrived mid afternoon and food service had stopped but the lovely jo had a word with the chef and they fit us in which was amazing, we were looked after so well, the service from Cara and Jo was second to none. The food was beautiful well presented and enjoyed equally by all..thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon guys and a special thanks to the chef who made it all possible 😘

Lovely place and even better staff. Veggie breakfast was great! Only concern was the window that wouldn’t fully close in our room.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff delivering great service and most of all amazing food! 5 stars! Very well recommended. A bit pricey but you pay for the quality of the food.

Lovely place, friendly staff and nice food. Booked last minute as my partner had a business meeting in the area. Warm welcome on arrival and able to seat us straight away for a meal. Waiting staff very nice and very smiley - always a good sign that it is a nice place to work. Nice to have some live music through dinner as well. Great breakfast following morning too - what’s not to like! Room although very small and at the top of the house was spotlessly clean, nice decor with tea and coffee making tray too. Unfortunately couldn’t give 5 stars as the room was cold as the radiators in the room and bathroom were warm at the bottom cold at the top - needed to be bled, also fan not working in bathroom. However, not laying blame as staff wouldn’t have known as they don’t spend any length of time in there. Advised on our departure and suspect it has already been sorted as the lady on reception seemed very efficient. Lovely place and would probably stay again if ever that direction again.

Our stay at Countryside Cottage Retreat was a true escape from the hustle and bustle. Surrounded by rolling hills and grazing sheep, it was a peaceful sanctuary. The cottage itself was charming and well-equipped. The hosts were gracious and provided fresh eggs from their farm for breakfast. The nearby hiking trails were a nature lover's delight. We left with a renewed sense of tranquility.
