An excellent park not far from the city with a good walking and exercise area, free exercise equipment and playground with soft rubber flooring. Barbecues and bench seating with tables are available for use. A Cafe is also within the grounds. The last is home to a multitude of native birds. A great spot for a family or friends gathering, picnic or walk around the lake.

Nice area, path around the lake. Couple of different playgrounds, exercise area, little cafe (and toilets), and small nature walk. Can be a bit rough at times but a good scooter around for the little ones.

Nice park in Belmont, nice place to get away and you wouldn't think just a min out of the park is offices, shopping centres and industrial workshops A nice lake, lots of birds, heaps of parking and seating with chairs and tables available. Grass is trim and nice to do a small picnics, a few people jogging around. A small kiosk located, that had the usual kiosk food, but could do with a revamp and better choices. Must visit

Nice family friendly park where you can do picnics and gatherings. Great for walking dogs too, plenty of space, wild life such as ducks, swans, ibis etc. The only not so good thing is the occasional overgrown algae over the lake.

Beautiful place, have plenty of benches, barbecue, good spots for picnic around the lake! Dogs are allowed on leash! 1.6 km loop, where you can walk, run or cycle! Nice play area for kids and other small play area all over the park! You will find a lot of sacred ibis sitting on the tree, they looked so beautiful in the evening! Place is very close to Belmont shopping centre! There is toilet near the playground!

One of the most natural beauty and sustainable ecological/biological community park in the City of Belmont as well as in Perth. It's a people and animal friendly lake park, and a good place to walk and jog!

Lovely urban park that hosts the annual mating rituals for thousands of ibises (think African safari). Cafe that's open most days in season

Very nice and quiet park and that huge grove with hundreds of Ibis birds. Seriously amazing to watch. Definitely a cool place for birdwatching and photography.

Wonderful place to visit, however can be quite smelly down wind of the water. It's full of Koi and alge but still la pretty place, lots of swings and slides for the kids. BBQs, and even a cafe to purchase coffee, cake or a meal.

Had a great walk around Tomato Lake with my family the other day. Still can't believe that I didn't know about this beautiful place until now. The scenery was divine and the walk was very enjoyable. There are several playgrounds for kids and some bbq facilities so a great spot for families who enjoy doing outdoor activities.

Visited again yesterday with our mini-Schnauzers and again the natural beauty of the environment and the amazing birdie nesting in the trees. A must visit location with excellent facilities.

Hidden gem. This huge peaceful park and lake surprises with it's many picturesque points. There's a gazebo, huge lake, bird nesting zone (pretty but smelly!) basketball court, multiple outdoor gyms for adults & kids, bbq area, cafe and walking tracks to discover!

I ride there quite often. 8 circuits of the lake is 8kls. Not a race. Just a slow casual ride. And a great coffee after. Have had lunch there a few times. Great food at a very reasonable price.

It's a great place for exercising around the lake. There is a rather pungent smell that comes from the white ibis, which are nested on what looks to be a reed island, but as you move further away from them, the smell is less noticeable, it is a well maintained park

Lovely place to hang out for an afternoon. Good reasonable cafe very friendly owners. Plenty of shade all around the lake. We took camping chairs so we could stop and watch birds wildlife ECT but there are plenty of benches too.

Newly refurbished shaded playground is well suited for younger crawlers while the older kids can still enjoy the climbing frame with tunnel slide. The stroll around the lake is also worthwhile with lots of different birds to see.

Excellent place to take the family and to walk the dog. Nice walk around the lake. Plenty of space to have a picnic and tables and BBQ spread out through the park. Excellent Cafe on site also with great food.

Beautiful playground and beautiful walk around the lake. Perfect for kids to ride a bike, scooter or walk around the approx 1km loop around the Lake. There is also a longer walk if you decide not to cross the bridge at the south end of the lake. There are Drink fountains, public toilets, Cafe for a Coffee hit or drink or ice cream for the kids.

I love having a cuppa and lunch at the cafe in the sunshine and watching the dog walkers.... there's plenty! My only complaint is the toilets. I hate the idea you have to push a button to get in and out.

Beautiful lake with parkland, paths, playground and a little cafe. Bought a burger and coffee, which was delicious! Lots of birdlife. A great place to bring your family.

Always a great relaxing place to visit with the grannies who absolutely love the playground. The birds and Lake are always relaxing. Have a few walk options around the Lake. Now own weight based exercise equipment available. And the cafe always has good food at VERY reasonable prices. Never had a complaint.

Went to Tomato Lake the second time around since coming back from overseas for a lunch picnic with my family. For this time, we had our lunch picnic on the bench table while the Ibis or the "picnic pirates" came very close to us looking for food. Then, I had the chance to go around the lake looking for something I wanted to explore, went to the other side of the lake over the bridge, saw the algae bloom with beautiful patterns, another children's playground and a small bridge coming back to the main lake. There is a lookout near Oats Street where I saw the water was pumping or gushing out on the lake surface instead of the fountain I used to see long long time ago!

A beautiful, expansive park that has a little bit of everything and is pleasant to visit all year round. The park’s lake is surrounded by vibrant foliage and is home to various waterbird families. Great place to jog, walk your dog or bring your kids to have fun at one of its playgrounds. Plenty of picnic benches, bubblers, bins and poop bags around the park.

It's a lovely green oasis, lots of birdlife and bushland. Perfect for families, or people wanting a nice walking/exercise location. Has good facilities too, with a footpath and a couple of boardwalks going around and over the lake, a large kids playground, an outdoor exercise gym and there is also a cafe and public toilets. The ibises of Perth seem to love it too, looks like half their population roost on an island at the southern end of the lake.

As a photographer I'm always on the lookout for nice parks and spots to do photoshoots. The couple I was working with suggested Tomato Lake after their marriage ceremony and I was pleasantly surprised how nice it was, particularly around the gazebo area (near the end of the carpark driveway). Nice light around sunset time, so recommend late afternoon for the best shots.
