Amazing pub, best drinks I've tasted in years and has an overwhelming classic feel of the classic lodge ale house. Bar staff are amazing and will make you feel right at home. Don't miss this one!!!!

What a terrific place - really excellent ales - I only tried a couple but they were both in top top condition. Liz, the licensee was only too happy to chat too. A quiet photo - it was late afternoon on a Tuesday

Best craft beer place in Wakefield. 10 or so taps including 5 of their own, 2 Ossett taps and some others. Beer fridge was decent with Rochefort 6 and 8 nice to see. Free WiFi

One of the best places in Wakefield. Nice drinks, nice prices. Service, from Michael, was friendly, helpful and he knew alot about the history of the place (it's existed a long time). Warm cosy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place for a drink.

This lovely little place is tucked modestly away in a Wakefield side street and could easily be missed. It is a lovely bar to socialise in with friends or just to enjoy the very traditional feel of the surroundings over a pint or 2. Friendly staff and the regular customers give this bar a very warm and welcoming atmosphere that is sadly lacking in so many other pubs and bars

I've had the pleasure of playing here twice now and each time, it's been bloody lovely. It's an amazing looking pub. The selection of ales are great and the snacks brought round from the local restaurants were lovely. Definitely recommend!

One of my favourite places to visit when I'm in Wakefield. Great range of beers and a really friendly set of regulars and staff are brilliant. If you like beer and you've never been here, you've never really done Wakefield. A must visit!

Great hidden gem, tucked away at the bottom of Wakefield. Close to Wakefield Kirkgate train station and bus routes. A wide range of real ales are always available from there own brewery Fernandes. The main bar is situated on the first floor with seating available on the 1st & 2nd floors. Brewery memorabilia covers the walls. I've visited many times and will do so again soon!

This is such a nice, friendly bar. Great selection of beers plus foody nibbles come around every now and again. What’s not to like.

Visited from out of town. Its in the current CAMRA Good Beer Guide (2023). The outside looks a little shabby. But once you cross the threshold you'll find an interesting, well looked after wood panelled interior and lots of fine cask ale. The Saturday teatime I visited the place was bussing. Easily got to chatting with different people and was made to be welcomed. Will visit next time in Wakefield.

What a great pub and handy for Kirkgate πŸš‚ too. Spoilt for choice of beers - stayed local having one of the two in house brews. If you love pubs - this’ll be right up your street - this place has an amazing history and is full of pub memorabilia. Sorry I had to leave.

Nice, hidden bar in Wakefield. Nice decor though the long saddle wasn't all that comfortable. Good beer

Called in early in the week so not many in BUT a huge step forward in decor and comfort recently. Great selection of ales etc. A treat for the "Real Ale" fan.

Lovely bar, spent ages talking with the owner and manager, very knowledgeable about beer and the brewing process, dog friendly so that's a big tick, will always make this the first port of call when in Wakefield going forward.

Loved this place when it was Fernandes... I was actually dreading going in after the recent renovations. I was expecting a standard town bar.... I had absolutely nothing to worry about! Has the same awesome chilled out vibe as before... Friendly & cheerful staff.... Still a quality Real Ale pub.... Just much more open space... Absolutely love the new look & can't wait to spend more time down there! A real little niche gem!

Hidden slightly down a bit of a dark alleyway, Fernandes offers a lovely relaxed atmosphere, beautiful decor (all the stained glass and old pub signs are fantastic) and an interesting selection of real ales (with 10 pumps). Has a lovely night trying to work my way down the bar and have enjoyed everything. The knockout beers of the night has been Mr Brian, Fernandes own. Says a lot when the favourite beers are the ones crafted in the cellar. Looking forward to coming back - thanks :) Edit: The Mr Brian ran out and was replaced with Half Nelson, also a Fernandes home brew. Fantastic, in fact, even better than the last one. Very impressed.
