What wonderful food, chef and staff! A real credit to the area and such a modest guy to boot! The atmosphere in Crust & Crumb is perfect, the pizza wonderful and the owner fantastic! I will be going time and time again. Thank you Alex!

I’ll challenge you to find a better pizza in Brighouse. The care and attention that goes into this Italian staple is breathtaking. When you have the ability to produce great bread you know the pizza dough is going to be incredible too, couple that with quality ingredients for the toppings and you have something truly wonderful. You must visit here for pizza. It’s incredible.

Finally visited Crust and Crumb, but found the whole experience massively underwhelming. The café was freezing and with no music it felt uncomfortable to speak at a normal volume. We ordered a Margherita and a Pepperoni. Both were unseasoned and bland. The dough on the the Pepperoni was underbaked by a minute or two. The bases were also not thick enough to hold the toppings. We were told pizzas started at 12, but then heard there were to be no more until 1pm so I guess this explains they were unprepared for our order. I did really enjoy the Garlic Aioli, but the amount given seemed wasteful. Dogs also welcome which is always a plus! ___________________ Response to owner - I will not be providing the specific date and time to allow you to snoop through your CCTV. However, if you did you would see we sat in coats and your staff were required to wear hoodies, not something I would expect from a room of 18 degrees. There was no music this day. Just people awkwardly trying to have somewhat private conversations. As for your rude comments regarding my palette and knowledge of fresh ingredients; I have spent several months travelling Italy and eating Pizza with my fiancé who has worked in several 2/3 Michelin star establishments as a CDP/Sous Chef. Sadly, Salt, Pepper and dried Oregano will not mask the taste of gratinated, cheap 50/50 cheese mix, nor will it improve cheap tomatoes and under-proved sourdough. (as mentioned previously, 3 other customers were turned away for pizzas and the only explanation for this is that the dough was no proved) If your establishment is some sort of training school to give young people a start in life/the hospitality industry then your prices should reflect that and they should be supported by professionals at all times and you should seek charitable donations to aid said start in life, not leave them to run your establishment and expect customers to pay full price for substandard service/products. I've attached several fresh Neapolitan Pizzas we have eaten in the past few months for your comparison.

Ate here on Saturday evening. Lovely friendly atmosphere and great service. Had the Veganese pizza. Been vegan for 3 years now and, hands down, the best vegan pizza I have had in that time! Absolutely delicious!

Over priced. We had wraps. Very little side salad and a small basket of fries. The staff were unwelcoming. Chatting to themselves. Never smiled. I had taken my friend for lunch, as we had been told about the Pizzas and how fantastic they are. Well I have told many people about it. I certainly won't be going back there! Ps. I did ring to speak the manager. He wasn't available. Tried once me still not contacted. So I left it and put it down to a bad experience.

Iv been looking for a new pizza place, that does proper pizza's at at home for a while now. You can eat in, which we did, or get a takeaway. The pizza was lovely, exactly what I wanted and there was a constant stream of people coming for takeaways, telling me I wasn't the only one who enjoyed their pizza.

Amazing food & lovely staff! I ordered hot chocolate and bruschetta caprese - both delicious and the hot choc unexpectedly came with a palmier biscuit/pastry, special extras like that always make a place top tier!! Even the owner (or the chef not sure which) came out to greet us and ask if our food was good which was so lovely. Will definitely be back!

Alex is a master craftsman and his bread cannot be beaten. Breakfasts are delicious and generous, service is fab. The Pizza is out of this world! From something that started with bread being sold out of the boot of his car to a cafe in two years its brilliant to see!

Top class. Alex and the team are really friendly and the food matches their customer service. I had an iced latte and a slice of cake. Brilliant and a good price too. I can't understand why this place isn't full of customers all the time, it's the gem of Brighouse!

Crust and crumb is always 10/10 everytime we visit. The pizzas are absolutely delicious, came very quickly to the table, and you can BRING YOUR ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FROM THE CRAFTY FOX which is located just a couple of doors down. Also the staff is lovely and the owner is very friendly. I can't recommend enough.

The bread is excellent and worth a trip to town alone! The other food is similarly excellent. The staff (including owner) are consistently very friendly and helpful. Great place and an asset to town!

We rode into Brighouse after a Fatbike off road ride to Mirfield and thought that would a nice place for some pizza. The food was awesome and service spot on. Highly recommend this place.

Great service and food deserves to be celebrated. Alex and his team ticked both boxes on Saturday when we went in for lunch. The pizzas and sides we ordered were 1st class as always and the team were friendly and provided great service. Would 100% recommend.

Really heard good things about here, wish I'd never bothered. The pizza oven was obviously not hot enough, the pizza was doughy not crisp at all. My husband complained which they offered to redo my pizza which was even less done than the first and had hardly any toppings on. Decided to just eat the pepperoni and leave the rest. Will not be going again and will not recommend

Hate to leave a below average review but it is what it is. Had high hopes for our pizzas as the other reviews were great and the pics from the reviews looked great too. However our pizzas were just “ok”, which isn’t “ok” when the prices are the same as Rudys in central Leeds. Think the doughs could have been stretched out a bit more for a thinner base and the pizzas could have been cooked a little longer for a crispier crust. Pizzas were maybe 10” in size. Im a pizza maker myself and I was hoping this would be my go to place to when I’m not doing my own. ———- Thanks Alex - Reviews don’t allow me to reply so had to edit my review to reply if that makes sense. Picked up 2 x pizzas at 7pm 22nd Sept. To answer your question, I don’t trade, no. I make pizzas at home socially for large groups. Typically 10+ pizzas but have done 30+ a few times.

Amazing bread and baked goods. Menu is well put together and made fresh. Sourdough pizzas are the best in the area . Coffee depends on who's making it, which, if they get right would mean I'd move in....
