What an incredible Italian establishment nestled just off the main street of Mornington town. There is an upscale and posh feel to their decor which is paired very nicely with great service. The food served here are refined and well balanced both in terms of presentation and flavour. You can tell that the menu is very well planned by the chef and his team. Another plus here is that they have a huge selection of gin at the bar!

My husband and I are food enthusiasts. We love to explore our palate to every dish we find interesting. And this place is no exception. When we first dine in, it gives us the wow factor. The food and wine were amazing. It is the kind of thing that you kept wanting to go back. It was a whole lot of new experience. The food and wine were memorable to the taste and very flavoursome, fresh and quality. It's a modern cuisine with a hint of authentic homemade Italian food. The staff were courteous and friendly. This place ticked all the boxes for the best quality food and wine. The staff were friendly and courteous. Hence, we went back the second time around, and yes, we will be back!

Wow!!!! What a great place to have a yummy feed! We had a catch up dinner with 9 of us. Set Menu was in order and they were able to cater to Vegan, Celiac and Gluten Free with no trouble or hassle at all. Great service, amazing atmosphere, the food was INCREDIBLE. Super tasty and great presentation. It started with the Olives, they were AMAZING! Best Olives I have ever had, they were smokey and delicious, my my my! The whole set course was fabulous and full of flavor. Enough saltiness, richness and great portions. Would definitely come back again.

A delightful time with the most delicious cuisine ; the Italian cocktail matched the calamari entree perfectly. Lamb, barramundi, tiramisu, affagato… all absolutely delicious. Ambience … a big tick. Watching the bar man shake the cocktails was entertaining too! Couldn’t fault anything.

Highly recommended. Booked a table for a late Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday and it was the best dining experience we've had in a long time. Excellent staff, food impressively presented, open and inviting atmosphere, and every plate from entree to dessert tasted absolutely brilliant. More than satisfied with their dedicated plant-based menu offering an extensive variety of vegan choices. Looking forward to returning very soon.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about this place. My husband took me to dinner at this restaurant and I tell you, it is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. Beautiful dark atmosphere with candles lit on tables. Staff are so courteous and helpful. They also care if you are enjoying your food and are having a good time. I would like to particularly mention a waitress (Kerrie) as I recall. She was incredible. Kept on coming and checking if the food was delicious , filling our cups with water and chatting, taking our order. I love how they kept order taking like it used to be! No QR codes. This is customer service! Food was delicious 🤤 will be returning

The food was absolutely delicious, we had the mushroom risotto and tagliatelle. The service, from the second we walked in was outstanding. Cocktails well thought through and so enjoyable. I’d highly recommend this place and will most certainly be back.

A wonderful place with a great selection of dishes and wine. Can have a full blown dining experience or a few simple dishes with some wine. Whatever your culinary appetite, there's something here to fill it beautifully

I enjoyed my meal here, flavours were lovely. I had the duck and mushroom tagliatelle, which was delicious however not much evidence of pieces of duck or mushroom. I noted that the person eating at the next table had seafood pasta and not much seafood evident. The timing of the 3 courses was good, but we had to ask where the drinks were as they had not arrived by the time entree was served. Same happened on other tables. I am not sure if they were training the person behind the bar, but as drinks were slow coming out, they would have not sold as much as they would have liked.

Been here a couple of times, a lovely place for dinner! Their cocktails are great, and their seafood is really fresh. Recommend to book ahead of time.

We took the neighbours there & they loved it. Our 4th visit. The food is always great, the staff are great and I just like the vibe of this place which is important to me. Non pretentious, friendly quality dining in a good atmosphere.

As a group of 7 friends we ordered the Chefs tasting selection for lunch. It was absolutely delicious. Starting with smoky olives, bread and oil dip and continuing with calamari, sweet potato polenta chips, beetroot croquettes, mushroom risotto, baked trout with asparagus spears, marinated lamb and salad. Dessert was a delectable little pistachio cannoli. Recommend trying the Chefs selection with a group as generous servings for all and you get to sample a bit of everything delicious. Could not have asked for anything more!

New owners and management have nailed it. I don’t usually write too many reviews like this but honestly best Italian food in the area! I had the vegan set menu & it was made with love and the staff are super friendly.

Great service, modern decor and friendly ambiance. We dined here on a busy saturday night after being unable to secure bookings at nearby 400 Gradi and D.O.C and were glad to have found this spot just off the main strip. The service was really attentive , welcoming and helpful which was a notch above what we have found in the area in past experiences . Food-wise we found the nicely concise menu to have a varied number of options, there is a vegan alternative to many of the dishes which we didn't try but noted. The pastas and sourdough starters we had with our platter tasted fresh, well cooked and overall presented great. We found the 2 pastas we had to be slightly salty but that may be a personal preference. The drinks we had were also tasty and there is a large range of cocktails and wine list of course to choose from. Happy to have visited and can recommend for a quieter, excellent dining experience in the area if you are looking for some simple italian fare.

Great Italian restaurant tucked away in Mornington. We had two vegetarian guests which was no issue at all! They have a vegan menu and ready vegetarian options in their normal menu. Fantastic dinner spot. Great service also.

Beautifully presented dishes and delicious food. Wide range of food options that also cater for all dietaries. Friendly and courteous staff. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back.

Absolutely wonderful, great ambiance to start, nice service and the food was fabulous. Great selections and our entire lunch party were all in agreement the food is top rate. I might add the pistachio with white chocolate mouse was too die for!

Went back for the second time after a couple of years and I was so pleased. Food was absolutely stunning from oysters to dessert. I ended up eating so much. Highly highly recommended:)

We ordered the Chef’s Tasting Menu so that we were able to try a variety without having to choose off the menu. Every single item we tried was absolutely divine & the customer service was top tier. It is expensive, but it’s for very good reason. I will most definitely be back for special occasions & will recommend this to others. One highlight I found, is that the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there. I think this says a lot about their workplace culture too & that’s something that I take note of.

Nice place however their pricing doesn't quite meet the venue - fine dinning pricing for an everyday type of restaurant... Went there last Thursday with my partner. We got 3 entrees, a sirloin and 4 glasses of wine - paid $270.

Booked for a table of ten for my birthday and on arrival another two guest arrived. Kerry and the staff immediately moved us to a larger table without any fuss. Kerry also organized a slightly different Chefs Menu for us. The food was amazing. The courses came out in a timely fashion without us feeling rushed at all. The wait staff were delightful and intrusive. This was our fourth time at the restaurant and again shows why it is one of our favorites on the peninsula. 15/10 thanks to all at Assaggini

The food and the service at this restaurant today was really very good. We all ordered the lunch special combos. The entrees we ordered, a simple chicken salad and the buratta with tomatoes were really very tasty. The mains of different pasta were very light and flavoursome. House wines were great. For what we ate, the cost was very reasonable. I would definitely say this was a great meal. Company was really good, too, but the food helped a great deal.

We had a lovely dining experience at Assaggini. Beautiful restaurant. All the service staff were very attentive and food came out so quick! 10/10 for food presentations and all were super tasty! Will definitely come here again.

I’ve ordered pasta, but it’s not taste. However. the white wine is good.

Pretty surprised at how many 5 star rating this establishment gets. Food was average at best. Portions are small for the price as well. Seafood linguine was terrible - very little seafood to be seen and a bowl with tons of linguine swimming in cheap olive oil. We ordered 2 serves on the bread and olive oil and that's exactly what we got - 2 slices of bread (literally) and a bowl of olive oil - no seasoning, no balsamic - and that was $8! Duck ragout was good, but again for what you're paying there's not much of it. Next time we're in Mornington I think we'll look for a pub.

This is an exceptionally good restaurant. The food was beautifully presented and very flavoursome. The chicken salad, so unassuming to look at, was delicious. The pork and fennel macaroni ... Mmmm. Both of our wait staff were attentive, professional and friendly, and had a good sense of humour. We outstayed our welcome but never felt pressure to leave. Great job.

Great drink and food offer, enjoyed the mocktails! Nice atmosphere, great service. Food was good but my veggie main was small, was glad I had a starter! Friend's pasta main looked more generously portioned so I'd go for that next time, and I look forward to the wine + meal offer! Burrata was nice but cold dish, would be nicer with *warm* fresh bread. Overall pleasant experience, incl friendly waitress.
