I am so thankful for this place. My 16 month old pup ended up needing to be hospitalized for 3 days after getting into some OTC pain meds and they were some of the scariest days of my life. During his stay I was allowed and encouraged to visit and it was obvious that he was receiving the best care possible. My dog wasn’t at all apprehensive to go back with the tech after my visits. Everyone I came into contact with from the front desk staff to the vet technicians to the veterinarians (I dealt with 3 over his visit) were so kind and you just know that they love all the animals in their care. Every call I made to them was answered after one ring which was supper impressive to me. Thank you all for taking such good care of my little bud and for being available 24/7 when we need you!!

We took our senior Pomeranian in the early AM. They treated us with so much respect and kindness. The tech and vet who saw us were very knowledgeable and went above and beyond in the care of our dog. We usually go to Atascadero Vet Hospital, but our experiences there were pretty bad. We were surprised how much better we were treated here and that it was relatively affordable for similar tests. Our dog is now much better and they followed up on his care. Even if you live in North County, this vet hospital is worth the drive!

We’ve used CCPEC several times over the years when our pets have had emergencies after outside of our normal vet’s hours. They have always been amazing! The staff is kind, patient, and understanding. They do their best to make you feel less anxious and to treat your pet as quickly as possible. You can tell they all love animals and if you have to leave your pet overnight, you KNOW they’re in good hands. My dog Dex and I highly recommend!

I brought my 9-year-old Pitbull in for aches and pains after he was running around like a puppy on Avila Beach. They were very gentle with him, diagnosed him quickly, and had him feeling better in no time. The staff was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend their care! Thank you so much 🙂 Ridge thanks you also. Woooof

The wait is to be expected in an ER- they took very good care of Muffin Pants. I really appreciated that they cleaned her wound without sedating her- saving me $255. She was very well behaved during treatment so she did require it even though they originally recommended it.

Extremely efficient, caring, personable veterinary service. The trainer clerk and registration’s quick, not overly complicated. Dr. Cooper checked our new pup and prescribed meds, offered some choices for diagnosis, and the entire visit took about an hour with some additional waiting, a few minutes, for other animals. Spotless setting. Important: the cost here was about a few hundred dollars less than another emergency visit for the same condition from this puppy litter. Thank you so much. She’s already better

Words cannot express how immensely grateful we are for the staff and care team at CCPH. We recently had to bring our four year old Devon Rex (Archie) to the hospital in the very early morning. The Doctors were in the middle of their shift change, but they could see the critical condition that our cat was in, so they wasted no time and immediately began running tests to begin the diagnosis process. They were pretty quickly able to determine that he had a blocked urethra, which caused a whole other domino effect of additional complications. Because of their “all hands on deck” teamwork, they were able to save our kitty’s life, and gave him the love, care, and attention that they would give their own furry family members. We would especially like to thank Dr. Couper, who was so compassionate and communicative with us during his 4 day stay. She made sure to give us a call every morning and every evening with a full update on Archie, and welcomed us to come visit him anytime during his time there. We were sent home with a detailed full report on every test/procedure that was performed, as well as details on his new dietary routine etc. Thank you again to everyone who helped Archie! You all are heroes :)

Dr. Ochi and EVERY SINGLE staff member here are a dream. I brought my dog here after he became stiff, vomited, and collapsed. Another ER told me this behavior was not unusual. My primary vet disagreed and recommended Central Coast Pet Hospital and Emergency. I am so grateful we took him there for his care. They were diligent about trying to identify the cause of the issue and promptly scheduled an appointment with an ultrasound specialist on the same day when more information was needed. My dog ended up staying overnight for treatment, and they successfully stabilized him, allowing us to take him home the next morning. Dr. Ochi and all the staff were warm, kind, professional, attentive, and truly caring. I really appreciated that they took the time to thoroughly explain what was happening every step of the way. I cannot say enough good things about my experience there. I felt 100% comfortable leaving my dog overnight because I knew he would be well cared for. While I hope I never have a pet emergency again, I will always return to Central Coast Pet Hospital if needed. Thank you so much for saving my dog!

Great staff, very caring & empathetic. I called several times and they gave me very thorough progress reports. I wouldn’t hesitate to return if my boy needed emergency care.

The entire staff is so caring and attentive. Short wait to see Dr. Cooper and she was very thorough with examining our dog. Improving with the meds prescribed and home care.

We visited the hospital on Saturday 26th August when our ShihTzu Gigi was suffering from acute vomiting and diarrhea. The whole team at the hospital were amazing. The receptionist, nurse and doctor were compassionate, professional, reassuring and helpful. Gigi was examined and treated quickly and we left with medication. We were told to call anytime with questions and return if necessary. Gigi is almost back to her normal self. I cannot recommend the hospital enough for anyone with a sick pet. They truly care for all the patients.

Our 4 month puppy decided to eat a dead bee and had an allergic reaction at night… The staff were very kind, and professional despite it being a very busy and hard night at the pet ER. Although it took a few hours due to this, They helped our pup feel much better, and discussed follow up care thoroughly. We are grateful, and will be back!

We had an excellent experience at Central Coast Pet Hospital. Our Cavalier was treated promptly and with such care on 10/31/23. The entire staff was so pleasant and accommodating. Molly has improved quickly and we are on our way to our next destination.

They were really sweet with Shorty, took their time and went slow with him. They let him come to them. I really, really appreciated that since he is 15years old and takes time to warm up. No muzzle needed and he had no problems with being checked out. This is something I’ve seen him struggle with as he’s gotten older, but to see the patience they had with him, meant a lot to me. It’s rare to find that and I wish they could see him regularly. Thank you.

The entire staff was very friendly towards us and our girl, Molly (who managed to get a foxtail shoved up her little nose and needed a small procedure to remove it) ☹️ From the time we walked through the doors, to the time we left with our girl, they were very kind 💕 As we waited in the lobby, we saw their kindness shown to all the other pets and their ppl as well 🥰 Molly says, “Thank you!”, as do we 💕🙏🏼

My 11.7 yr old Milo was having cat cold like issues and getting even an emergent appointment from my Vet was - well forget it. They suggested CC Pet Hospital and Emergency. CC Pet Emergency determined that Milo had an URI and they took very good care of him. Everyone was very professional with special appreciation for Dr. Couper, DVM who thoroughly explained every action taken along with suggestions to prevent future URI. She really cares about what she does and it's appreciated. Milo is doing much better now. Thanks to everyone at CC Pet Hospital and Emergency.

Wonderful, caring attentive staff! I brought my dog in after he got attacked by two dogs and they took amazing care of him! They were so kind, thorough, and quick to see him. I love our regular vet, but this was a great emergency experience, I’m sure the regular vet services are equally as wonderful.

I am so thankful for everyone at Central Coast Pet Hospital! Before I could fill out any paperwork, the staff rushed my precious pet to the back for assessment after I told them the situation. The vet was very kind and informative and she was able to calm me down as I was in tears and worried about the future of my pet’s life. I could not have asked for a better experience and they were worth every penny. If you have a pet emergency I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone that they come here first! I will forever be grateful for the kindness and the top notch treatment my pet received in such a difficult situation.

Very helpful clinic to have available in 5 cities! Our male cat was showing signs of a UTI, I took him in a little after midnight. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They took him to the back for an initial exam right away. Did a few tests and ruled out various diagnoses after talking with Dr. Ochi, who was very nice and thorough in her visit with me. I came back later that morning to pick him up, the discharge vet tech was very helpful and thorough in his directions for home care. Though a very costly visit, as one would expect for multiple tests, meds, and a $170 emergency exam fee, I would do it again to make sure my cat was okay. Overall highly recommend this clinic as your last minute vet needs if your regular vet is closed. Be prepared to potentially wait a while to be seen by the vet or to pick up your pet, depending on other patients that arrive or are already being seen. They have a very clearly posted list of priority conditions of pets that come into their clinic, so if your pet falls under second or third priority category, you may need to wait a while if others come in with more serious conditions, which is fair and as expected in a triage emergency clinic.

We are so thankful to Dr Adam, Dr Reed and the entire staff for caring for our lab Cooper after he ingested something that made him violently ill on a weekend. We were relieved that there was a close by emergency facility AND that they could see us when they clearly had many more serious emergencies happening. The entire process was top notch, with clear communication and obvious care given to our dog and to us. We felt like we were in the best possible hands from our initial greeting to when we got to bring Cooper home. Happily he has made a full recovery and had a good follow up visit with his regular vet. Thank you all so much for your work.

They worked as efficiently as possible as my pet was less of an urgent emergency than others. Still, I got out of there in less than 2 hours, which I consider really good. They still had great Covid precautions in place with drive up serve, which I appreciated. They were extremely caring, the vet explained things clearly, overall I was very happy with the care we received!

The staff at Central Coast Pet Hospital is amazing. They are caring, friendly, supportive, empathetic.....I can't say enough good things. We brought our extremely sick cat in on a Friday evening. We thought we would have to put her down due to kidney disease, but the vets brought her back to life, patiently explained everything and let us have a private room to visit her while she spent two nights there. Highly recommend this wonderful practice!

This veterinarian is absolutely outstanding. The best on California's Central coast. The care they gave my little dog in the middle of the night on an emergency basis was exceptional and the 10-page summary report they sent home with me was exceptional as well. Dr Elizabeth Ochi's knowledge of my dog's condition was astonishing, and her bedside manner is something you would want from your own personal physician. I recommend this vet without reservation. They also see patients on a regular basis and I am considering making this my primary care doctor for my dog full-time.

Great experience! We were able to wait in our car and then were able to go in a side door since our dog doesn't do well with other animals. They made the whole experience a good one. The vet was able to diagnose my baby girl and they gave me antibiotics for her injured eye right there! I was also able to purchase a cone for her to wear. It was a one-stop-shop and I really appreciated the ease and efficiency, and so did my pup!
