My parents only lived at Brookdale for only 3 years, but the care and love they received from the devoted staff made their, and their children's experience, feel like their long time home. When we left after their needs required more extensive medical care than Brookdale had to offer, we cried in the lobby with 6 members of the upper management and their long term care givers - it was so hard to leave. In responding to our families needs, they did everything possible to accomodate my parents whims and health issues. I recommend Brookdale Northbrook mostly for all the love in the halls there, and the smiles on the members of the community from the executive director down to the neighbors in the hallway you meet on your way down to dinner. It is a loving community to be part of, what more could one ask for their family members?

My mom was at this Brookdale location for about a year and a half. Unfortunately, she needed to move to a memory care facility. The staff is amazing with the residents. They really care about them and know everyone by name. Brookdale at home was absolutely magnificent with my mom. It is run by Itszel, who is incredible person. She communicated well, made sure my mom had wonderful caregivers, and was there for my mom if there was an issue. Her staff is also outstanding, especially Susie and Vicky. I definitely recommend Brookdale, Northbrook.

My mom moved into Brookdale, Northbrook after her apartment building experienced water damage and had to be evacuated. Everyone at Brookdale gave my mom a warm welcome—not just when she moved in, but every single day she lived there. The whole staff is remarkable: from the marketing and sales department to the friendly and helpful front desk, to the array of activities the activity directors organize, to the sociable dining experience and chance meetings in the hallways, … all of their friendly and open hearts helped my mom feel at home. I’m grateful that Brookdale, Northbrook created a friendly, kind, and active community for my mom. This is how an elder community should accompany folks into the twilight of their lives.

My parents moved into Brookdale Northbrook about 4 years ago. They lived in independent living while my dad was alive. My mom continued to live there through Covid and when she needed more help on the assisted living floor. Throughout their time they received excellent care. From the administrators Steve, Ryan and Lucy to the entire staff of caregivers, nurses and support people, everyone has been wonderful. This is a great senior community that offers a variety of activities and social opportunities. My mother, in particular, was well taken care of. I always felt she was in a safe, loving environment. I highly recommend Brookdale Northbrook.

When it came time to pick a safe, comfortable home for our mother to move from Florida back to the Chicagoland area...I reached out to my Facebook Mom's community and within 10 minutes, recommendations were flying in for Brookdale. We didn't even hesitate, we met with the amazing staff and moved her in a month later! The Brookdale community is wonderful, from the residents to the staff, we could not be happier!

My mother-in-law and father-in-law lived at Brookdale Northbrook for three years until their physical circumstances changed, and they had to move. During their live at Brookdale, they benefited from its good food, a broad diversity of activities, a location that was convenient for family and friends to visit, and a well-maintained and beautifully landscaped building. Most notable -- and most important at any such facility -- was the skilled and loving staff. The staff at all levels knew their names, regularly asked about how they were doing, offered to see if there was any way they could help them, and much more. When my wife and I recently cleaned out their apartment, we had to say a final goodbye to about eight of the staff, ranging from the Executive Director to the caregivers to those who helped maintain the facility. They remembered my in-laws well, and they were obviously moved by having known them. Their were tears all around -- on our part and theirs -- and it was clear that they saw their work as more of a job. For them, it was a calling. I'd recommend Brookdale Northbrook to anyone who requires care for their elderly parents or other relatives: they provided excellent care at what can be a critical time for any family, and I know that our family is so grateful. - Bill Dingfelder

My father, age 97, has been a resident in the independent living facility at the Northbrook Brookdale for 4 years. During that time my family and I have been very happy with our experiences there. My father has made many friends with other residents, and has meaningful relationships with many staff members, as well. He particularly enjoys mealtimes, and has regular groups of residents with whom he sits and socializes daily during breakfast and dinner. He also greatly enjoys the various social programs which are organized by Brookdale, especially the musical programs and holiday celebrations. As a family member, I have been most appreciative of the ongoing excellent communication by Steve and Ryan through phone and email, particularly during the COVID-19 epidemic. There is a warm and friendly family atmosphere at the Northbrook Brookdale. My father has frequent visitors, who feel warmly welcomed by the staff. I am so thankful my father is safe, healthy, and happy. I highly recommend the Northbrook Brookdale.

We could not be happier with the staff and experience. My parents just moved in this week. All during the lead up to the move, the staff (especially Tina and Lorry) was amazingly helpful in assuaging my mom's anxieties about the move. The facility is clean and bright. The apartment was newly painted, new counters and carpet were installed, and it has a great view and lots of natural light. We shared a dinner on the day they moved in, and the food was delicious. On their first day there after their move, my folks were attending activities and meeting new friends over meals. Thank you, Brookdale, for helping my parents achieve a wonderful quality of life.
