///SAFETY WARNING /// We loved this dog park but I feel compelled to share our full story in the hopes to save others. Last night before sunset my partner and I took our 1.5 year old pup to this park. He loved all the open spaces and lakes, met a few fellow barkers. However, we didn’t see the signs to the wooded spaces that ask people to leash their dogs - while walking along the hilly trails our guy picked up on a scent and eventually found a pair of deer which he chased. After a few minutes into his pursuit we lost track of him. For 40 minutes we called his name. Thanks to our gps collar we found his body on the side of the road. We loved our dog, and looked after him with all our hearts. We travelled to dozens of dog parks across 33 states. I saw this park, the high rating, and someone saying it is fenced in. It is not fully fenced in. And if your dog chases deer, perhaps best to avoid. Best wishes to you and love on, it’s worth it. Be in peace Leo <3

Very nice place to walk and run your dog. Lots of room and two small lakes if your 4 legged bud likes to swim.

Any and Every Time we road trip across America, You must be sure to let the dogs properly stretch and play , just as much as the children or more! Tennessee has a lot to offer and Shelby Farms is a MUST DO. It's seems to be busier and busier as each year goes by but the beautiful sunsets and rolling hills with ponds for the dogs to play in make it so memorable for our family. This was our 6th visit and certainly not out last. Thankful such a beautiful off leash park is offered! Great work everyone.

Love the fact that there is a massive area of land with a body of water for dogs to roam off leash. You know who loved it more? The little guy pictured!

Trail run with my 11 year old was magical. She’s puppy crazy. We did an fun 2-3 mile loop using the All Trails app. Ran through the woods, grass trails, over creek, around pond, and enjoyed dozens of dogs playing off the leash. It was a highlight of our visit to Memphis.

This park is amazing! It's huge! Most dog parks are a rectangle of fenced in grass. Not this place! There's huge open fields, wooded trails, and a beach. There's a dog wash to clean up before you leave. We're not local, but this dog park is a must- stop for us on every road trip. I wish we lived closer!

Dog heaven. Off-leash dog park with wide open spaces and two lakes and hiking paths makes this a must for any dog lover. Your dog is going to have fun and get dirty, so bring a towel or have a seat cover for him. I have never had any problems with other dogs while I have been there. The fields are well maintained and cut regularly. Some people make the mistake trying to fish in the lake!!!(It's a dog park, dogs are swimming in it.) Other mistakes includes trying have a picnic on a blanket and trying to do a photoshoot. THIS IS DOG COUNTRY.

If I could give it more stars I would. It’s like doggie heaven. There are a number of small ponds on the property. The park is absolutely massive. People here are generally very nice and friendly. Most people understand if a dog jumps on them or whatever. I come multiple times a week and don’t plan on changing that anytime soon.

What a great dog bark! They have a water fountain, free tennis balls! There is a lake, so if you got a swimmer like us it's going to be hard to keep him out of the water! We had a great time playing with all of the dog friends! We will be back.

Amazing off-leash dog park. It is gigantic but please be cautious that it is only partially fenced.

Great park for dogs. There is plenty of room to roam. Water, trails, mud, shade, benches, and a clean-up area. Had a great time! Thank you, whomever found my cell phone. I was able to retrieve from Shelby Sheriff's Dept.

This is a great park for letting your dog run in wide open space. It is not fully fenced so you have to keep an eye on them. Our dogs love jumping in the lakes and swimming and running around with other dogs.

Beautiful park. Great for walking your dog in the off-leash area. When going on the trails be careful of wild animals. Always carry something to protect yourself and your furry friend!

A wonderful "off leash" area to get your pups some exercise and interaction with other dogs.

I've seen quite a few of these parks from coast to coast... Shelby Farms has it almost perfect. My dog and I LOVE this place. I go out there as often as I can. The trail around the lake is the best exercise for both of us.

This place was huge but it's completely enclosed!! Luckily I realized it before my dog found the opening, but it was still worrisome that he might escape!

This is an amazing place to take your doggo regardless of size so they can run, and actually stretch their legs! All dogs are friendly, there is so much space for you and your dog to walk, run, stretch, and chill. Love taking my dog here over overton, he is way more active!
