What an interesting place! Coffee and ramen! I came here for lunch and ordered a thick chicken broth ramen! It was really nice, great broth served with flat noodles. The boss Jonathan has great hospitality, he shares his passion in coffee and how he created the concept of combining coffee and ramen. It's a great experience! Glad I found this place 🙏🙏👀

Simply the best! I’m a decaf drinker (doctors orders) and finding decent decaf is so hard but this place nails it on all fronts: quality, taste, value, speed and service. Thanks guys :)

Great people working there, awesome customer service, good coffee and well priced. I would recommend grabbing a coffee and ham and cheese toastie, it's good value ($5) and very nice! Sometimes when it's not busy the workers will come and give you your coffee too. Would recommend! All the workers there start to pick up on your name and remember your order, the customer service there is great!

We were a group of 5, so had to wait for a table as this venue is always busy. I had the Tori Gara chicken ramen and it was delicious! The broth was light and flavorful, and the perfectly cooked egg added a nice creaminess to the soup. The signature pork is thick has a real depth of flavour and is very filling The noodles were chewy and delicious. The service is a bit slow, but they were busy and are extremely friendly so wasn't an issue. I've been a few times and always enjoy the meal - I recommend trying it!

North Sydney is lucky to have this oishi ramen restaurant. It looks plain but their ramen is strangely memorable. Walk right in Although Sou has left p out, they didn’t leave flavour out of their ramen. All the elements in the bowl were prepared thoroughly and although ramen noodles were slightly odd, I liked what I ate. Especially the chicken. A long concrete colour table stood out and the service was good as well. It’s worth eating at this joint and next time maybe I’ll try other flavours For these reasons I give this place 4 bears

We came on a weekend. There was quite a line when we got here at 12:30. It was not easy to get a table for 4, even though we were second in line, we had to let smaller groups after us get in first before they could tetris us in and any more than 4 - you might need to come as they open or after 1:30 I reckon. Regarding food, the karaage chicken and gyoza were both good. We tried the signature ramen and their limited time sake ramen. The noodles were the flat type which is slightly unusual, but held on well to the very rich broth. I personally didn’t find the broth has much depth, the chashu was also slightly dry. However, my egg was perfectly jammy and the kakuni is a nice addition to the ramen.

Omg. The ramen is so good I’m reluctant to write this review for fear I won’t be able to go there for lunch everyday once people catch on. Had the chefs special. Yum. Just yum.

One of the great things about ramen is variation from shop to shop. This is a perfect example. The chicken broth maintains the depth and flavour of tonkotsu while giving you a lightness that is hard to find with Pork. North Sydney has needed a shop like this and they have delivered in spades. Highly recommend.

Such an amazing experience. Heard so much about this incredible place and esp the ex chef from gumshara ramen. Definitely worth driving and the parking for it! 😎 Tried the chefs special and a thick broth ramen. The ramen noodles are so good and chewy and thick! Great portion and taste, quick serving, We drank all the soup and nothing was left. Truly authentic and heard about the chef upgrading his cooking after travelling, and it truly tasted different and unique… maybe even better than some ramen shops in Japan! The coffee was also special! Thanks for everything and making our day chefs!

Ramen and coffee. I had the special Ramen, extra frothy chicken broth that coats your palate with its rich flavour, topped with both pork and chicken. Very good, expect nothing less from the former yasaka/gumshara Ramen specialist who is doing something different instead of the more typical pork broths that dominant sydney ramen lover top ramen lists Coffee is all sorts of colombian single origins. Parking on the streets nearby is possible, metered 1 hour parking is sufficient for a quick lunch here.

Nice little Ramen place. Very friendly staff and cozy interior. Unfortunately, the selection is pretty limited and depends on the time of the day you come to the restaurant. The (slightly spicy) chef special Ramen was exceptional, the light chicken broth with pork Ramen a bit boring.

This was our second visit & it certainly did not disappoint. Beautiful flavours & textures. Not your run of the mill ramen. Perhaps our favourite place for ramen. I dare say, even better than Japan 🇯🇵 Don’t execute me if you’re Japanese. This place serves coffee too. Perhaps, not as good as their ramen. But a lovely, little, welcoming spot in North Sydney

I ordered the "light broth" option of the Signature SRL ramen, assuming it would be identical to the standard Signature ramen, except with a thinned down broth. But it turned out to be an entirely different ramen instead: thin noodles instead of the thick one, small wontons instead of kakuni and the broth was just a clear soy, without the intense chicken flavour of the original. None of this was mentioned on the menu. Rather than lumping the "light broth" option under the Signature SRL, it should be an option by itself as it is bears no resemblance to the standard Signature SRL. The ramen itself was alright though not particularly memorable. My friends found the standard Signature ramen to be too thick for their liking, and the thick noodles to have a strong alkaline taste. Fried oysters were a nice starter, juicy on the inside.

Got the special of the day. Complexity of the taste of the broth made it unforgettable although it is a bit too thick for my taste. However, super thick broth seems to be the thing for ramen places in Sydney at the moment.

Delicious ramen especially the chicken broth. Highly recommend it👌 get there early to get a seat, it gets very busy druing lunch time. Their fried oysters are always very good.

Although the selection of Ramen is limited, it is top tier! The selection of coffee, however, was very wide. That was the first time I had a Hojicha Latte before! The staff were super friendly. I went on a Saturday night and it was surprisingly not very busy.

My overall experience was great! I ordered the black garlic and spicy chicken ramen as well as the chicken katsu. The ramen broth was very heavy and thick which I'd recommend if you have a very strong craving for ramen. Worth giving a try. The chicken katsu was crusty on the outside and moist on the inside and with the sauce on top, it's really good! The waiters were really nice and polite and the owner was also nice in asking if everything is good. Food came in 5-10 mins. Would definitely come back again! Perfect for rainy days.

First time trying this place on a Wednesday around 12.30pm, was quickly seated for one and had the window seat with a car view. Got the sou signature ramen with shio choice which was the original salted and its a really rich (thick) broth with 3 cuts of meats, veggies and a whole egg. Would recommend light broth for those who don't like thick broths. For $20.90 it's well portioned sized. Great experience and would come again.

The karaage chicken was delicious - juicy and crunchy. Had the sou signature ramen (the thicker broth) which was delicious and full of flavour. The meats and egg were cooked well too! I do enjoy thicker ramen noodles so I quite liked these. A friend had the sake broth which was interesting and delicious - definitely unique. Would definitely go back - would like to see how their light broth is.

Chef was previously from Gumshara so the thick pork broth is similarly thick - it’s not my type of soup base so therefore did not enjoy as much. Next time I will try the light soups. I would commend the amount of protein that comes with the ramen, it was very generous and very tender (sous vide chicken breast was the most tender piece of chicken I have eaten in a ramen, the pork was equally tender) The venue is quite small and caters for singles/couples so take that into account if you have 3 or more. 2nd visit a week later - tried the light chicken and anchovy broth, and both were excellent. Upgraded the rating to 5 stars!!

First time experienced today and I am looking forward to going back. So many mouthwatering dishes to choose from. I had the Kyoto dried anchovy based broth ramen followed by a small bowl of Japanese curry on rice. Both were delicious and full of umami flavour. Service is very friendly and helpful for first timers like me. Cold brew coffee v. good too.

Fantastic ramen restaurant. I come here often with my work. Highly recommend the Ritchi Ritchi (Chicken Rich Soup). I love it so much that I still haven’t tried the rest of the menu. 😅

Great depth to the ramens. Service can be a bit slow and disorderly when very busy. Suggest to go outside peak hours

Nice broth and very moist, tender chicken breast. I prefer normal ramen noodle over this thick noodle though. Be prepared to wait 30+ mins if they're busy.

Solid broth, a good range, I tried the Anchovy ramen only available Tuesday and Thursdays, it was well balanced in flavour and texture was very good. The noodles are very good. Last orders at 2pm. It was busy around 12.30pm. They have indoor seating. Staff are friendly and efficient. They accept cash and card. I'll be back to try their coffee and other ramen. Short 10 mins walk to train station.

Ramen lovers check this one out. You'd never think such a place would pop up in North Sydney but this one is definitely a hidden gem and worth trying. Went for a breakfast ramen for 2 on a Thursday morning and it was definitely heartwarming. We got the anchovy-based broth with soy (I think it was called the Kyoto ramen), only available for breakfast. The broth was clean, the noodles with a firm and chewy texture, thicker than standard ramen noodles, pork slice fatty and the chicken flavourful. Highly recommend for anyone who craves a bowl of warm noodles in the AM.
