Table was dirty even if the place wasn’t packed. We ordered thai chili prawn, chicken tenderloin and salt pepper squid which was all below expectations. Squid was soggy. Considering the price, food didn’t taste special. Maybe just a bad night for the kitchen. I don’t know, restaurant rating was good so I didn’t expect the experience.

Watched a waitress/cashier refuse to refund a customer even though their meal was clearly off. The fish smelt aged and looked grey. Saw others try to reason with her but she wouldn't budge. Absolutely disgusting service. First and last time I'll ever eat here.

A great Hotel, in a nice village in the Adelaide hills, located on the main street, good parking, very friendly staff and a good selection of food and beer / wine. Remember to look at the great mural in the front bar. Well worth a visit !!@!!

The meal was lovely, huge serves of roast pork and Chicken Kiev. Lovely old pub, with a nice old mural on the wall. The barman appeared to be more interested in putting his bets on, (while there was 3 guys waiting to put their meal orders in.) Then was watching the races and constantly checking on his phone. Was 4 groups of diners at the time, in the front bar. Just wasn't a good look, in my opinion.

Well a couple of things food prices are really good but the toppings on the snitty needs to be a bit more like the garlic prawns 3 prawns and not a enough garlic sauce the snitty was large and very nice the salad what salad not real good at all then they stuft up our order the one thing that really annoyed us was the table service not very good as they wouldn't let us go up to the bar to order like they forgot us so ife give it a 5x10 for service

Wow what a meal! Had a chicken schnitzel with th GE topping and haven't been that full for a long time...it was a monster! Thanks chef! And a shout out to the top lad who served us(tall bloke with the beard) and the lovely girl that took our kids for a look at the dark dungeon lol(Celler) as they were a bit weary of what was down there 😄 will definitely be back!

This is a message to and about the owner - He is nothing but an abusive old, angry man. While sitting in the dining, I could hear him yelling at his staff horrendously. Upon questioning my friends who work/worked there, they say he is rude, abusive and I have heard nothing but horror stories about him. I have had my own experiences with him and have had this same conclusion, but that’s not here nor there. He will get angry at staff for training new crew. Abuse the kitchen crew for not being fast enough. Even his own daughter apologises on his behalf to the staff, for the poor behaviour of her father. If that doesn’t speak volumes I don’t know what does. All in all, I do not believe this man (Bruno Chapman) deserves the money he gets and definitely DO NOT work here if you can avoid it.

Have been harassed by the owner at my job. He is a grumpy, controlling and angry man. Staff friends of mine have told me that he is abusive, short tempered and his daughter even apologises on his behalf when he gets out of line. I will never support this man again, boycott GE.

My family and I dined here on the weekend and can't wait to return. Everything about this hotel is great and it was lovely to have the owner make time to chat with us even with how busy the place was. We will be back.

Massive meals for even the entree sizes. Paid $28 for entree X2 and drinks and came out with dinner plate sized king prawns and chips. Couldn't even finish the meal. Tasty, just be hungry when you come to eat

Food presentation Ok was lacking content and freshness quality, Chip quality is cheap. Ambiance clean and very nice, waiting staff friendly and efficient….

Mother’s Day lunch a huge disappointment! Roast of the Day was undercooked, gristly, tough pork, undercooked crackling complete with hair that wasn’t seared off, uncooked cauliflower, broccolini, carrot that my very blunt knife couldn’t cut. However, the roast pumpkin and potato were perfect! I have had Roast of the Day at GEH before which was excellent, so i was looking forward to it today, but I won’t be back! No plates given for the garlic bread, so just had to hold it!!

Generous with two stars, have been wanting to eat here for months finally decided to give it a go. The staff lovely and helpful, the food dreadful, the Side salad was wilted and sad, one piece of cucumber and few old leaves with no dressing does not make it a salad. The food I am sure all frozen, poor presentation, terrible taste, doubt anything is cooked from scratch because of the taste and look also very pricey .The music and ambiance terrible, it was really busy and I can only guess people are desperate to go anywhere as there is nothing else around. Needs urgent upgrade.happy to drive further for better food and ambiance.

Dropped in around 1:30pm on a Public Holiday, was greeted with a warm an friendly team member. Generous portions and well priced meals. Salad was crisp , calamari cooked perfectly. Tidy and clean toilets ; kitchen was sparkling. Thank you for an enjoyable lunch.

I had garlic prawns and they were the freshest prawns I have had. Very large and cooked to perfection.Husband had Fisherman's Basket, it was a large plate with very large prawns on it and very fresh. We were waited on by Alicia, who made us feel very welcome. You are doing a great job, Bruno.

Beef schnitzel cooked to perfection one of the best pub meals in SA good size and great flavour this little pub is a hidden gem there meals are fantastic and the staff are also fantastic

So glad I went to this place its marvellous what they have built a wonderful home from a 50 thousand gallon water tank. All around the house is full of gardens and niches with tables and seats . Rooms to walk into with small windows . It iwas a great day .we went to a room and had these delicious scones jam and cream all made by owner . It is open twice a year in spring. We went there by Coach. It's the only way to get there. It was Aust wild Tours.

Hot chips were the worst i have had. Chicken snitzel and salad ok. Outside table was so filthy I had to clean it with my antibacterial wet ones.

Excellent meals. The pate was to die for (even better than mine). Staff were very friendly, would go back anytime

This place decided to take on two bus loads of people at once for lunch so it took forever for the food to come out, it wasn't hot when it did finally arrive and the mash potato was crumbly, not smooth, buttery or creamy, just cooked the potatoes, mashed them and served. Only one jug of water on a table of 10. Not in a hurry to return.

Just had a meal with several work colleagues. My husband had a drink spilled on him, I had to ask where his meal was as it was about 10 minutes after everyone else had their meal and then they double charged the last person to pay. No apology was given even after calling them for an explanation. Based on this I assume this is their normal level of service. Lots of other pubs in the area, I suggest going elsewhere.

Great pub... had lunch here with friends, would recommend it it anyone. Friendly staff, great food (would recommend the ribs) and not bad prices.

Great food fantastic service. Could do with a renovation however really enjoyed our night out. Thankyou for your hospitality

I love this pub because it has southwark stout on tap, which is very difficult to find in a pub. But as usual it would mean a long way to go for the delicious stout.

A pretty average old pub that needs a dose of TLC. staff pleasant. Pub meals ok. 2.5 stars

Sent 2 emails to explain poor meals but no replies so obviously don’t take any notice so hence poor rating. Had a steak that was so poor it needed more than a steak knife to cut and wife had chicken schnitzel same over cooked. Didn’t want to make scene at meal time and as said sent 2 emails to their site to not make a big deal of it but could not be bothered to answer. So if you meal is poor don’t try and keep it quiet as they don’t care so make it known😩😩

Great food. Fantastic service. Pleasant atmosphere. Can get a bit noisy in dining room when busy.

Overall a lovely atmosphere. Meals a little pricey for what was actually served, in comparison to other local pub menus. Add-on orders such as extra sauces and drinks never arrived. But we had a large group dining in the cellar, so it may have just been a case of out of sight, out of mind. On the whole, we would visit again, but maybe not for meals.

Chef needs to ensure schnitzels are heated all the way through. Delicious on the edges but cold (like from a fridge) in the middle. Happened on 3 separate schnitzels for my family. Other meals were very good.

We went here today for lunch and were very disappointed. The mushroom gravy was awful- so watery and thin, no flavour and maybe two small pieces of mushroom. The lunch snitty was not nice. Definitely won't be returning.

Great pub. Ticks all the boxes for a good local. Food, tap beers, bottle shop, 8 ball, darts, tab and top people. Cheers!

Good food great staff with a nice outdoor seating area...if you like watching traffic.

Excellent meal and great atmosphere!! One of the serve ladies was quite bubbly, chatty and great, the other 2 young ones not so much. Guess they can learn though. All in all, it was a great night. We didn't reserve, though the bubbly attendant was quite happy to seat us by the fire! 10 points for your effort!

Another lovely Adelaide Hills pub, group of 8 for lunch, we were all very happy with the great food and friendly service. Interesting mural in front bar.

Well went to Littlehampton for a drive and stopped at this amazing hotel, Awesome service, very welcoming and felt like home, Amazing meals, thanknyou.

Just popped in for lunch at random. It's been a few decades since we have been here and the renovations have transformed the old pub amazingly. Our meals were delivered in good time and were very tasty. Enjoyed a nice bottle of bubbles with the wife in comfortable dining chairs. Staff are attentive and friendly. Will go back again.

Had a lovely welcome and a great Sunday roast yesterday lunchtime. Pork was deliciously cooked, veg perfect and the wedge of apple to accompany a nice surprise. Not many pubs left doing this Thank you

Went there during lunch time and had salt and pepper squid. The squid was fine. Sauce was good. But veggies didn’t seem to be fresh. Tomatoes were cut into big wedges. Staff was nice and friendly though. It was a standard place just like other hotel pubs.

Excellent food and service with very friendly staff. Reasonable pricing. Beautiful old pub in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back .
