After realizing that almost all previous reviews of this location have absolutely nothing to do with the room and it seems to be a bunch of people crying and leaving dishonest reviews about not being able to fill the hotel lot with their boats after a fishing tournament and preventing others from being able to park, I figured I’d do everyone a favor and try to leave a decently informative review. The rooms are fantastic! The rooms are tip top, very clean, appear to be nearly brand new and bathrooms are fantastic! Location is great, restaurants within walking distance, as well as a new Walmart and car wash! Staff is very friendly! I would highly recommend and will be staying again. Oh and also I threw in a picture below of boats parked in the lot. So much for them “Not allowing boat parking” lies lies lies

Overall this appears to be a brand new location. The hotel front desk attendant couldn’t figure out how to check me in through her system and even walked away in the middle of the attempted transaction to discuss with another employee where to put some boxes away in the back. Apparently they had just received a delivery as the lobby was scattered with boxes. Luckily I was able to bypass the clerk and check in on my Hilton honors app. I did notice the workstation computer and printer in the lobby were out of order as well. Things got better from then on. The room was on the second floor and extremely clean. One king bed with a huge tv. Large walk in shower, no tub. If traveling for work, the room had the smallest desk area I’ve seen in a hotel. Free Wifi worked great though and I just worked from my laptop in bed. Overall, besides the service issue, this is a new, safe, clean hotel that I would return to on future trips.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a few nights last weekend and wanted to make sure I sent in a review for the service that was provided. We arrived late on a Friday night and Nick was the one manning the counter. He had a bunch of people come in at one time and I watched as he handled each customer with professionalism every time. He made sure to give every customer his name and told them to call if they needed anything. When we got to our room, it was clean and nice but the thermostat was not working properly. I told Nick and he said her would relay to the morning crew about it. The thermostat was fixed before the next morning. The following night I asked about some ibuprofen they did not carry. His intuition was to give us a few waters to get through the night. While it wasn’t what we needed, it showed that this man was doing the best he could for the position he held. When I tried to tip him he refused. This is a man who cares about the brand and the job he holds and I was extremely impressed. The hotel itself was very nice and clean and the staff all around was great. Nick just stood out for his exceptional service. I would most definitely stay here again.

I usually stay at Hampton Inn properties, but this hotel had availability so I decided to check it out. I noticed there were only a couple reviews when I checked out the hotel, but this was due to the recent opening of the property. I liked the property. The greeting from the Asst GM was wonderful and she was very informative of the amenities of the hotel, including the assignment of goodies from the convenience store in the lobby, 24 hour free coffee bar in the lobby and the complimentary breakfast each morning from 6-9. There is no coffee maker in the rooms. You need to get your coffee in person in the lobby, which is a little inconvenient when you wake up and want to hit the shower while the coffee is brewing. Small inconvenience though. Rooms were modern, tastefully appointed. I would definitely stay at a Tru property again in the future

Wouldn’t let my friend Jordan Lee park a bass boat on the property. He had reserved a room there. Poor customer service. One the best bass fisherman of all times and made him either leave or get towed. He was there to fish St Clair. Can’t believe this nonsense.

Pulled in late last night, and was so impressed with the Tru concept. Night desk confirmed a late checkout but apparently forgot to note it. Luckily the staff today were absolutely fantastic! Friendly, but professional bunch that wouldn't seem out-of-place at a much higher end Hilton property. Good breakfast served until 10, and very practical rooms. Love the workspaces downstairs! More welcoming place for remote workers than the average hotel lobby

Great location with food nearby and easy access to 94. Rooms are great if you happen to need to work during the day. The desk was perfect! Friendly staff, decent snack selection available for purchase. I’d totally stay again.

I would not recommend. My friend booked through Hilton website non-refundable rate & paid at time of booking. I arrived before them & was told the card on file is declining incidentals. Therefore, they have to charge my card for entire stay, or I could wait until my friend arrived. Couldn't explain why I have to pay for reservation that had been paid for. It was 11pm, so I just gave them my card. Friend got it squared away once they arrived a few hours later. Was placed in room 413 by elevator, though friend had checked in online for room 428. Rm 413 toilet didn't flush, was then moved to rm 415, where the cable tv had error. Both times told maintenance not available until morning. I fixed tv issue myself via google. Their HVAC system was annoying...it runs non-stop. Despite if thermostat setting has been reached. The hotel is newer, offer breakfast, & gym. No pool which is odd for a new hotel. Long story short, We checked out a couple of days later & checked into sister property Hampton Inn for NYE. Although it was older, its across the parking lot, Better amenities (You can control thermostat, pool, jacuzzi, shower water doesn't get all over the floor). The staff was friendly just not helpful. There are other hotels within walking distance that have pools. Newer is not always the best.

Nice hotel. Pretty new. The hotel crew is very nice and helpful. I like how the floors are Luxury Vinyl Planks instead of carpet. Our room was very clean and well organized. The TRU Hilton chain is modern styling and has games to play in the lobby if you want. There is also a water station for refilling cups. I will stay at.this one again.

I absolutely love the colors and design of this particular hotel. Gives good vibes. Great staff except housekeeping did NOT come to clean my room or give fresh towels, bedding the whole 7 nights my whole family of 8 was there. We just kept going upfront for more towels. They said they put order in for room to be clean but they never came. As soon as check out day came (TODAY). They harassed kept coming early to ask were we gone yet. So we went to the front to report them. Hopefully no one else has any issue. Other than that super. Great coffee and breakfast 👍🏾

Great Hotel. Rooms Clean. Debbie at the breakfast bar was great. She made sure the area was clean and stocked. The assistant Manager, Felisicia, was extremely personable and helpful about the rooms and hotel in general. Would stay her again.

I stayed here for 12 nights for business and overall enjoyed the stay. Most of the staff was friendly, the rooms were clean, the fitness center has more than most hotels typically offer. I also like the minimalist feel to the bedrooms. My only problems are fairly small ones, but worth mentioning. The shower door has a large gap above it that prevents steam from building up in the shower, so if you aren't actively in the water stream, you get cold. The water pressure could also be a bit better. The card readers at the front desk seem to have been causing a lot of issues and one of the staff members was a little rude about it. Aside from these, I didn't have any issues during my stay and it was comfortable. I do wish there was onsite laundry and microwaves in the rooms, but I knew that there weren't when booking the place, so not an issue with the hotel itself.

When I checked in the manager said I didn't have a reservation, that I had booked thru a third party. NO....I did not...I called the hotel itself. The manager...Lecrecia (?) stated I would have to find another hotel. Hmmm! I showed her my reservation confirmation # and pleaded my case. All of a sudden she had a room. Hmmm! When the young man checked me in he said "I don't know why she did that, we had a room for you" hmmm! WHY was I made to feel that I didn't have a reservation and WHY did I have a conflict? Then the manager tells me to come see her in the AM before I leave. She was no where to be found. WHY...WHY...was there a conflict. I hate confrontation when there is no need! $161.00 was way over priced for such a stark hotel and conflict when checking in!

Can you please sound proof the rooms for the love of god!!. Seriously, why in the world is somebody playing video games FULL BLAST until 2:00 a.m?! I checked in my floor to see which rooms it was, but I couldn't find any noise so it's either the fourth floor or the second floor. I decided to let it go since it was a Friday night. But it started again at 6AM.. Seriously?!. I finally called front desk to ask if they can take a look at it and they said they will but nothing happened after. I'm not sure if they did or not. Also why is the shower lukewarm instead of hot?! If you do decide to come to this place better bring in your ear plugs!!

Not a hotel for anyone in town for fishing. If there is more than 6 or 7 boats already, good luck finding power or adequate space to park. Have to unhook trailer if you can find a spot.

I booked a hotel room with a confirmation #, drive 2 hours in a snowstorm so I could go to a bridal shower the next morning. I got there, and they canceled my room because they were overbooked. I called the manager twice and have not received a call back from anyone. Horrible service, and I wish they would have called and said I didn't have a room anymore.

Was going to book here for a tournament next month but heard a lot of talk about them not letting you park your boat in the lot and getting kicked out. Screw that, I'm booking elsewhere. Other places don't care at all, so why does it matter here especially with a empty lot? That's ok though, there are plenty of other hotels around the lake to stay

Nice clean hotel but if you want your room made up you better do it yourself. Need to put in request in advance, but night clerk totally useless and doesn’t put in request when you ask. Day time people nice but night clerk worthless..

The manger( black lady short hair ) was honestly the most rude person I have ever met. Approached her with info her other staff member gave me. Came at me so rude so sideways knowing I’m a veteran plus letting her know I just had a terrible morning to start. She said I won’t be charged till my room is checked out. I was charged before I even seen the room. Took a 50$ deposit when through the Hilton honor app I don’t have a deposit fee. Just garbage rode model as a manger position period. I recommend tru and all Hilton’s. Just not this rude manager.
