Beyond this world!! It is gorgeous 😍 Plenty of walking. Gardens entrance is free, though the house, museums, and professional photography have a cost. Kids and pets friendly. Please don't climb or touch the sculptures. I have small kids, and you can enjoy this beautiful place with them in a respectful way. It's a shame seeing people with feet inside the fountains or climbing the sculptures as a playground. Please don't! It is art and history, and besides that, it's magnificent. This place is one of the most beautiful places around that you can enjoy for free, and the least we can do is take care of it as the precious gem it is. Thank you.

Great place to take photos First time coming here. Not bad. The building is outdated. The garden is beautiful! Pools is nice. Well done. The place could use a little cleaning up. They do have a gift shop. Free parking and free entry. The place needs a little love. Good place for taking pictures or weddings. Recommend

This is one of my favorite gardens to come to yearly. I love how the sunken garden is different from year to year. Such a well maintained and beautiful space. I love the statues placed all over as well. The Japenese gardens are also so lovely for tranquility. This is a must see and must go place garden wise.

Cranbrook is a school, a trail, a science center and art center. It is free to roam the grounds and see the nature. A great place to escape to when you need some time to yourself.Best place for deep breath.I would wait to come here when warmer and the garden/trees are blooming.

Pristine, beautiful landscape with superb-looking buildings and statues. The gardens are beautiful, full of flowers with vibrant colors. Cranbrook House and Gardens used to cost money to visit before, but it no longer costs money to visit. However it costs money to visit the Museum. One word of caution: The bathrooms are closed, so one needs to plan properly before visiting this place.

This is a wonderful place. Here you can arrange a photo session and get beautiful pictures. You can also just walk and enjoy the beautiful views and old European-style buildings .

Have lived in the area for ages but this was my first visit inside Cranbrook House. We did a self guided tour but there were docents in every room to answer questions and give a little history on the family and the decor. The details in the wood carvings, the high end materials used in construction, and the influence of the artisans that were commissioned to create the decor pieces left us in awe. The gardens are amazing. The Japanese garden was magical. Take the time to discover all the grounds but wear comfortable shoes as you will definitely get your steps in as you wander the trails. Absolutely will be going back soon!

Beautiful outdoor gardens to visit all through the year, from spring to winter. No dogs allowed in the premisses.

Absolutely gorgeous, beautiful location! So much to see and explore! Breathtaking views and colors! As a photographer this is our new favorite spot for photography, especially engagement/wedding! 💍📸🎥📽🌹 PERFECT spots for photos! Couldn't ask for more, truly! Photos attached are all from their grounds, all over the garden and housing area! We only touched about 30% of the property!

Such a beautiful place — we love the old trees and there’s a rare white elm tree in the Japanese garden that will give you dreams about your future — I went last Saturday and had a very vivid dream about my future on Monday. It’s fun to let your imagination go and think about this mystical tree! It is a wonderful place where you can unplug from the “busyness” of life and find serenity and enjoy the magnificent nature. It’s almost magical.

Stunning grounds! We missed touring the house. The complex is rather large. The Japanese Garden is lovely. We didn't get to see everything, but we plan on coming back! Definitely a must see if in the area

A glorious example of Arts & Crafts excellence. Gorgeous details everywhere you look - doors, grates, fireplaces, furniture, lights - every single piece has amazing craftsmanship and soulful purpose. This is truly a treasure. The docents are well informed and clearly cherish this very special house.

I have been visiting these grounds for the past 10 years. Absolutely stunning all year around. In spring, the parking lot is lined up with Yoshino cherries, the magnificent Magnolia tree bursts with yellow flowers by the fountains near the house, and the weeping cherry blossoms for hanami un the promenade near the library. There are lilacs, red buds abd forsythia bushes that burst into colors each spring. Late spring sees peonies in bloom, by the reflecting pool near the house and also in the library promenade. There are mature cherry trees through out the property. Come fall, the woods turn a bright crimson. The evergreens lend an interesting touch to the snow covered grounds in the winter. The Japanese garden is stunning even in the winter. The sunken garden by the house is the star all summer. I really wish they didn't dig up the blooms first week of October and waited a few more weeks to do so. I always get a good workout by effortlessly wandering the grounds and marveling at its beauty. This is also a photographer's dream.

Crankbrook Garden Trail offered a delightful escape during our 5-mile hike with a meetup group. The unconventional path winding around houses and through the community gave the experience a touch of magic, resembling scenes from the enchanting world of Harry Potter. The picturesque surroundings provided numerous photo opportunities, making it a haven for photography enthusiasts. Additionally, the convenience of free parking added to the overall positive experience, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a unique and visually captivating outdoor adventure.

The basic guided house tour gets you access to several rooms on the first level. Everything that you're allowed to see is beautiful. The final stop, The Library, is magnificent. After the house tour, be sure to spend an hour walking the grounds. There are numerous gardens that you'll want to see.

Walking trails are open to the public but be prepared to come across some questionable stuff! They either need better grounds maintenance or better overnight security. I've seen masks, spent vape cartridges, several condoms, and typical garbage like fast food wrappings, etc. It really ruins the atmosphere when people litter and nobody bothers cleaning it up.

I really enjoyed our walk here, the japanese garden was my personal favorite. Beautiful garden and beautiful home. Next time I'll bring a picnic basket and have lunch!

The Cranbrook House, an Arts and Crafts-style masterpiece designed by Albert Kahn for the founders of Cranbrook Educational Community, George and Ellen Booth. . Incredible vistas at every turn, the relaxing melody of water streaming out of iconic fountains, the comforting smell of flowers in many remarkable gardens, the feeling of the rich history, exceptional craftmanship, and architectural wonder all around you... just a taste of what awaits at Cranbrook House & Gardens.

It is nice to walk around the grounds. Haven't been inside any of the paid buildings yet, but recommend walking around and enjoying nature.

One of my favorite place to take a walk! The house looks beautiful along with the surrounding gardens. Love to visit often.

One of my favourite places to go. It’s so beautiful and has so many plant varieties, fountains, statues, and wildlife. If you’re planning to go make sure you’re ready for all the walking, it’s quite large. You could easily spend two hours walking around and still have more to look at.

It was beautiful and so fun to explore. My fiancé and I love getting out in nature and this was a great experience for us. We’ll definitely be returning for a tour of the house and gardens!

Beautiful place!! Well maintained the gardens, I saw people having picnic, hiking, walking, taking pics to the flowers. I think we didn’t finish to see everything but we will come back.

Did the garden walk, it was nice enough and a good walk. Quite enjoyed the Japanese Garden area. The Greenhouse was a nice visit even if not everything was blooming.

We went for a family walk and to take some family pictures. It is very nice for that, even in winter. Parking lots were open and no cost. I have been to the science museum in the past and it was also good and well done, not too big. There was an entrance fee for museum attendance.

If one has any interest in historical homes (or in this case a manor house) this is a fine home to tour. The tour only includes what would have been public areas of the first floor (no kitchens, bedrooms, etc). The architecture is not extraordinary but it is interesting and the interiors are extraordinary. The Booths were supporters of fine craft workers and artisans and the interior appointments demonstrate as much. Some of the detail work, such as above the fireplace in the library, is truly exceptional and makes a visit from a keen-eyed observer well worth the time. The gardens appear beautifully laid out, but we visited in the snow and did not walk through the garden areas. I would commend them to visitors based solely on the visual appeal of their design.

Beautiful destination with much to see at no cost. We enjoyed seeing all the plants, sculptures and fountains. There is a bathroom located right at the entrance where you park.

I like this place a lot. Really a lot to explore if you go to the gardens, around the lake, the house and estate, and the arts/science campuses. Favorite place to walk nearby metro Detroit, it’s beautiful. Even if you’ve been before I’d recommend going again because chances are you’ll notice something you didn’t last time :)
