One and done. Very casual eatery. Was hoping for good food and good drinks. Neither panned out. The biggest disappointment was the incredibly dry and shockingly bland fried chicken. Not sure how you can make fried chicken tasteless but they figured it out. Plus the bone dry consistency of the white meat portions made it inedible. Martini was a bit watered down. And the server was nowhere to be found. First and last time here. Only reasons for two stars and not one was the Wedge salad. Was inventive and tasty. Should have just stopped there.

Grabbed a quick late night reservation after realizing the place we intended to eat was no longer serving food at 9:30pm. Service was good, the decor is cute. I had a chicken sausage pasta that the server highly recommended. It was good but I wasn’t super impressed. The Nashville chicken sliders were amazing though!! So many textures and flavors! The chicken was crispy, the brioche perfectly toasted, the slaw pickled to perfection.

I feel like they are so underrated! Such good food. Been for brunch multiple times and dinner just as many. But matter the time it's always been incredible food and great drinks. I always recommend it to people looking for a brunch spot that doesn't have a two hour wait, and isn't cash only. Cool vibe inside and they've even added some outdoor seating with a covered patio build. Inside they also have plastic sheets between each table.

If you’re looking for a brunch place in Philly, this is the place to go. I highly recommend their shakshouka and their fried cheese curds. The food is flavorful and is filling. Their service is also great. Their outdoor seating also has heating, which makes it nice when it is chilly outside.

Not sure how I feel about this restaurant. The vibe here reminds me of 70s punk rock. I thought the menu was very small but everything was executed nicely. We started with the pork lettuce wraps and cheese curds. Both were good. My mother in law ordered the rigatoni pasta and carrot salad which she said was delicious. My daughter really enjoyed her fried chicken which was perfectly cooked and came with 2 scratch made biscuits. My hanger steak was cooked at the desired temperature and very tasty. Food was good, staff is friendly but nothing stood out to make me want to go back.

We went on a Saturday for a brunch, we got the chicken and waffles, Po Boy and Nashville Chicken Biscuits. Service was good, but the food wasn't anything to come back for, it was average, served on cheap paper plates (their dishwasher broke, which happens in any restaurant), serving size left something to be desired and felt overpriced. Bar looked a little disheveled too, the bar was scattered with plastic containers which really killed the atmosphere. Paying $90 for the overall meal left something to be desired.

Everything was flawless. When we got there, we were greeted and sat promptly. Everyone was kind and attentive. The food and drinks came out timely. Everything was delicious. Chef Hero was more than generous to us and sent us some complimentary treats. We ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Buns which were crispy and spicy, but not overbearing. The shakshuka was seasoned perfectly. The eggs were poached just right with a nice, runny yolk. If you come here, you must get the cinnamon roll for desert. I cannot recommend Bud & Marilyn's (or Little Nonna's for that matter) enough!

First time here. Sat down quickly at the bar on a Sunday for brunch. Our waitress, Flanders, was very warm, friendly, and welcoming. Ordered the Shrimp Benedict, which honestl, was amazing. Home fries were extraordinary crispy which I loved. Flavor was great, shrink grilled perfect. Highly recommend. Great experience.

Great bar and food! We were not planning on this great local place, but when we had 9 and no reservations, they happened to have a table for us at the time we were looking for. So we got there a little early for happy hour drinks. It's not the best list, but if you are a beer or wine drinker, it is good. and we waited for our family and friends. wen they showed up we were taken to our table and we had Kristina our server give us some suggestions. We started with the Kimchi fried rice, spicy but very flavorful. then we all ordered different dishes and basically one of each of the major recommendations from our server Kristina, each was filled with flavor and nice size for the price. I personally went with the Nashville fried chicken with a side of roasted butternut squash. what a plate filled with flavor. It was not too spicy and just the right flavor. It was sitting on potato bread and drizzled with a ranch dressing. We finished off with three of their most popular desserts. The Funfetti cake seems to be their signature dessert. All was great and had a bite of each.

First time in this restaurant and we had an amazing experience. They have awesome espresso martini that I highly recommend if you are on the sweet side for drinks. Our party ordered the cheese curds, old fashioned, margarita and an Orange sour type of drink. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli with the hazelnut and every bite was a treat. It was not too heavy and really well balanced. My husband got the short ribs stroganoff, a little bit more on the heavier side but he enjoyed every single bite (I enjoyed the bite I tried). Everyone really enjoyed their meal and drink. The atmosphere was nice as well. Perfect spot for future date night

The food was okay and did not match the fantastic ambiance. Anything that was fried was way too fried, cheese curds and potatoes were difficult to eat. The Shakshuka was one note and did not taste similar to the robust and earthy Shakshukas in more authentic restaurants. The salad was pretty plain, could have been anywhere. The bathrooms are accessible and large and they have a non alcoholic cocktail option, but adding to the location. The vibe is wonderful but the food fell short.

The highlights here were definitely the fried chicken & warm biscuits. The chicken was juicy & flavorful, with a delicious crunch. Although very aesthetically pleasing, the ribs & grilled hanger steak were decent, but not outstanding. As a fair warning - we visited for a Friday night meal, and the atmosphere was very noisy & overall difficult for conversation.

It was pretty crowded when we went and the service was slow. Our plates came out very sporadically and the water refills were space. The compound butter on the French toast was cold and made the French toast soggy, but the toast itself had good flavor. The biscuits and gravy also tasted pretty good. The accompanying potatoes didn't have enough flavor and didn't have the right texture for me. Cinnamon roll was good (I'd give it a 4 out of 5) and all the drinks were good. Cheese curds were a great appetizer and had nice sauce on the side. Overall, I wish I could give them a 3.5 star rating.

A very cozy, intimate vibe inside! The biscuits that came with the chicken and biscuits were HEAVENLY and the salted honey butter was absolutely incredible. The bratwurst buns were also quite tasty. This place isn’t cheap, but the serving sizes are excellent and we had a great experience. We made a reservation on a Saturday night (good thing we did, it was crowded)

I usually love dining here but this weekend was a bit disappointing. The restaurant was warm and I couldn’t drink my hot coffee. Keep in mind, I was sitting in the center of the restaurant, not that close to the kitchen. The cinnamon roll did not taste fresh and was hard on the outer layer. The chicken sandwich was good but the fries were not crispy. Some of them were floppy and filled with grease. Seemed like they sat for a while. The chicken and waffles were good. The shrimp in the shrimp Benedict were perfectly cooked but the sautéed greens were too salty. Shakshuka was okay. The waitress was slow not very attentive. We had to ask for water refills multiple times. Also, one of the servers tried to take a plate that still had food on it. I’ll probably still come back because I know the potential but I was very disappointed by this last experience.

One of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. If you’re in the area, you can’t go wrong for breakfast or brunch. We always start with the buttered roles. They switch the options up, but my personal favorites have been the bratwurst and shrimp po boy. If you like biscuits and gravy, they have some of the best I’ve ever tasted. They used to have amazing mocktails. They aren’t on the menu anymore, but the waiter was willing to ask the bartender if they knew how to make them for us. Unfortunately they didn’t have the ingredients. I hope they bring them back! There’s a lot of booze on my menu, and people were guzzling their bagged cocktails down, so if that’s your thing then you’re in luck. The funfetti cake is HUGE! We were so glad we took it back to our hotel to eat for later.

The waitress was so nice and the burger was delicious! The waffles were okay and the chicken was dry. But overall, the experience was nice.

When in Philly.. B & M is a MUST! Dimly lit interior with mid century decor is inviting and alluring. Walking in for dinner, the restaurant immediately envelopes you in a warm, amber hug. Seated with candlelight and jaunty mint green napkins. Delicious food and drinks. Save room for dessert. Lot parking across the street.

Brunch - down home southern cooking style from fresh watermelon heirloom tomato burata salad through fantastic shakshouka and gourmet breakfast sandwich (switch to over easy egg). Highly recommended. outdoor booths were big enough 4 but more than that is tight. next time coming back for dinner

I tried this place on a business trip to Philly. It was a lovely choice and the meatloaf and wedge Salad were to die for! The atmosphere was a little loud for me, but they were also super super busy. I wasn't particularly thrilled with my cocktail, but it also wasn't terrible either. Definitely a good place to get food in the area!

Shrimp Tempura Hot Buns and Rice Starter were delicious! I've heard brunch here is awesome (the Chicken and Waffles). Cute place. Krista the waitress has great energy and positivity!! Highly recommend!

Impromptu stop in for a quick Saturday breakfast, very delighted on the well Curated and simple menu. Definitely try the Nashville hot chicken sliders, the coleslaw, compliments it perfectly with spice and flavor. My server was delightful Will definitely be returning!

The food here is AMAZING! We ordered the Albacore Tuna Tostadas, Kimchi Fried Rice, Wedge Salad and my friend had the Spicy Chicken. Absolutely AMAZING. I can't wait for my son to come visit from New York so I can bring him here. The cocktails were DELICIOUS. The service EXCELLENT! Thank you!

The bartender was nice and attentive. There was an overwhelming smell of fish by the entrance and bar; I recommend sitting close to the kitchen or sitting by the windows. Food and drinks were flavorful and made well. The space is dimly lit, best suited for dates, but I'm not sure about large gatherings.

Great service and atmosphere. Chicken was lacking spice or flavor...seems overrated. Tofu bowl was delicious flavorful crisp tofu and complimentary ingredients matched well. Went for brunch

Lighting is super dim and the atmosphere is very intimate at least in a dinner setting. Our service was great but I think I liked the sides that came with my Salmon more than the Salmon itself, it’s all just personal preference. We thought it was a full bar but they didn’t have cranberry/orange juices for a regular mixed drink when we asked, but that was fine! Overall enjoyed dinner here.

Mom and I had a blast at Bud and Marilyn's! We shared the chicken and waffles and the warm pecan cinnamon roll!! They were both delicious. But our waitress was extraordinary!! She was friendly, attentive, considerate and simply amazing!!

Wow!!! This place is spectacular. The cheese curds were delightfully (and lightly) breaded and not greasy at all, the meatloaf (pictured) and fried chicken were breathtaking, and the lemon blueberry pie was probably the most delicious dessert I’ve ever had. The mashed potatoes?! Oh lord. Creamy with so much flavor. The cocktails were also fantastic (highly recommend the espresso martini for dessert). I love how cozy this spot is as well - the vibe is great for a relaxing dinner out. Service was spectacular, very friendly and easy-going. Make sure to stop in if you’re in the area!

Very cozy atmosphere. Menu was small, but diverse enough for most. Server (Sean, Shawn?) Was friendly, attentive and overall a great person. the food was delicious! I'd recommend a stop before it gets packed.

Warm retro decor and welcoming, friendly service all around. Every menu item I've tried so far gas been delicious but their stroganoff has become my go-to! The salmon toast and Nashville Hot buns are some wonderful appetizers I recommend as well.

Wow! The vintage decor does not do this place justice. It looks like an old school diner but the food is phenomenal. Southern comfort food done with such flair that my wife, daughter and I could not stop stuffing our faces. The Cinnamon bun is a MUST HAVE! The plates are plentiful without being obscene. The service was great. And the price is perfectly marked. I will be returning!!

My husband and I accidentally came across this restaurant during my first visit to the city 5 years ago. This has since become my favorite restaurant of all time! I always make it a point to eat here every visit and have tried every meal off the menu. Love this place so much, the food and service is always fantastic.

Dark but cozy atmosphere. Very nice place to bring a date. The sirloin steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful and sliced for you. The Marilyn fried chicken was also very good. Cocktail drinks were spot on. The staff was very friendly. We had a great dinner experience on a rainy Friday night.

Good food, not great. Our entree was delivered three minutes after our starter. We felt very rushed. I asked if they would please keep it warm in the kitchen and received a bit of an attitude in return. And, despite being told to bring proof of COVID vaccination, we were never asked.

  • 5/5 Vanshika A. 1 year ago on Google
My first time at Bud and Marilyn’s and I loved it. I definitely think this place is worth the hype. Service was quick and friendly, despite the place being packed. Our food and drinks came out surprisingly quick for how busy the restaurant was. Definitely a well oiled machine here. The ambience is cozy, and we loved the little corner alcove we were seated in by the window! Will definitely come back another time to try more menu items. The hot chicken bun was super spicy though - be warned!

I have had so many nice meals here. Tonight I booked a table outside. It was frigid, I had my dog with me. I arrived, they said they weren’t serving outside. I’m freezing, outside, with no options. Why didn’t they call??? Because they don’t care.
