It is still the same. Vegetables come from as far as the Highlands fresh and we can accsess it at Madang market. The locals also bring their produces making it a combination of both outside and local market produce. The Sepiks also add variety with their baskets, bilums, carvings and other kocal products.

Reorganize the SME section. Build shelter for the mothers sitting in the hot sun. Dispose rubbish everyday.

Still okay when it comes to purchasing fresh garden produce here in Madang. Just the influx of black-marketeers sometimes bring the whole value of the local market down and much improvement is needed for the management.

The Madang Market is located right in the heart of Madang town and provides a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables from the islands, mainland and the Highlands region. Some fruits and vegetables are seasonal but there is always fresh fruits and vegetables available at all times. There is also an arts and crafts section that you can find souvenirs and gifts for everyone.

The Madang Town Market is not specialised only in garden produce. They sell clothes, crafts and artefacts as well as chemicals in the market. Most of the sellers are resellers who purchase the bulk garden produce in the morning and resell in the afternoon at a higher price.

This is the beating heart of the town. I go here for all my fresh fruits and vegetables. They also sell trinkets and Bilums (local hand woven bags). In going here for over a year I have never felt unsafe here. However, I would suggest you do not take out your camera or expensive phones and you will attract unnecessary attention from people . Dont take any valuable or too much cash , just basic common sense stuff for a small town busy market.

The new market is fantastic, spacious and clean. The variety is great, both produce from the highlands and local. The cooked food section is great also, I love it. The whole setup is super, all thanks to the japanese government initiative. Just wonderful, great market in a beautiful spot.
