I and my friend had visited Royal India for lunch and we really enjoyed two of their lunch special combos here. But the service was so poor that although I would've loved to give a better rating, I cannot. After serving our food, the attendant never returned to check if we needed anything. We wanted to try out one more combo (like a chaat combo), plus we needed napkins but she never came although we kept looking out. We ended up grabbing napkins from the table next to us since it did not have any customers. The restaurant was relatively empty for the lunch hour and yet service was way under par. The waitress came back with the desserts (which were part of the lunch combos) long after we finished eating. All in all, the food was good and the decor was pretty (the place looked "royal"), but service was very bad.

Went here for lunch on Christmas Eve. Great ambiance, great service, and great food! I am not a fan of Indian type food at all….but the food I ordered here was DELICIOUS! 😊👍 They literally have over 150 different dishes to order on their menu!?!?!?! 😮😮😮 Really beautiful inside their restaurant too. (Price-wise they are on the HIGH side, as much or even MORE than other high-end restaurants like Second Empire or the Angus Barn.) Our bill was $160 for just three adults and a toddler!?! 😮😮😮 Everything we ordered was tasty and yummy and we enjoyed trying a couple of their Indian ice creams as well! 😋👍👍

I said I’ll give 4.5 because of having mango lassi instead of mango Margarita..lol.. but jokes aside this is one place I can’t find any shortcomings in despite trying, decorations are excellent and ambiance authentic. Service is courteous and prices totally right. Amount of food just good and location little hiding but it’s an experience to palate and purse. Must try recommending I’m as a patron and enthusiast ❤️

I go to many Indian restaurants in NC. Royal India uses the best quality and fresh chicken and other ingredients. All curry menus are so tasty so I’ve been visiting here three times for the last week. + lunch combo menu is a must-try.

The food was very flavorful and aromatic- I wish it was spicier honestly because I expected more spice (I have a weak tolerance but I love spice). I got the thali and it was just the right amount of food and came with naan, samosa, and a dessert! I also tried the chicken tikka and chicken vindaloo and those were chefs kiss. The owner was so kind to give us an extra gulab jamun fresh and show us the history of the restaurant! Would definitely still come again and hopefully there’s more spice 🤩

I will say I loved the butter chicken, and the garlic naan bread. The chicken Biryani was amazing as well. It’s a really delicious place to eat and has a nice atmosphere and beautifully decorated. Well worth the visit. Also the mint chutney is very good.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND, i was craving gor some Indian food and this olace did not disappoint at all. The restaurant is clean, effiecient with their service, the ambience is good and the food is 10/10. Tasty, well cooked. Definately coming back.

I recently moved to Raleigh,,NC, from Northern Virginia, and I was craving some Good India food. I googled the “Best Indian Restaurant in Raleigh” and Royal Indian Restaurant was one of the restaurants that popped up. After reading their great reviews I decided to give me them a try. The restaurant is warm. The staff is Very friendly, and the Food was Amazing! I’m glad I found a new Indian restaurant in Raleigh now.

This place was amazing. Our server was hilarious and our water was constantly filled. The food goes without saying, but I will. AMAZING. I was so full and happy but couldn’t finish all the food. Can’t wait to have it for left overs. We also got complementary gulab jamun and again, DELICIOUS. Will definitely be making this our normal Indian spot.

Absolutely amazing. Seriously, you won’t be disappointed. The staff is excellent and fast. Food was fresh and flavorful. I will be coming back and bringing a friends! Ravi was excellent and made the experience even greater with his humor and customer service.

Food was so flavorful. Staff were wonderful and attentive, but also lively and kind, great to talk to. Love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Could not say enough amazing things about this place. Highly recommend.

If you are in the Raleigh or surrounding area, make the trip to this restaurant! The food is great. We sat and talked with the owner and his friend, without knowing who they were, for a while. He offered suggestions and the food started coming to the table. Some was even comped. The service was prompt and we tried new dishes we never had before. It's very ornate inside, though the strip mall where it's located isn't very aesthetically pleasing. I very much look forward to returning the next time I visit the area.

1/28/2022 What a wonderful experience! I decided I wanted authentic Indian food for my birthday, and found Royal India. The inside looked regal. Mirrored walls, portraits of Indian kings and queens... it was just beautiful. We were served what looked like papadam. I wasn't much of a fan but did like the minty yogurt sauce it came with. We ordered the lentil dumplings. Very savory and well spiced. The texture reminds a bit like potato cakes. I ordered the bhuna goat, medium spicy. It was very delicious (but next time, if I order this again, I'll lower the spice level to mild :P). The herbs that were in there were strong but in a good way. The mango lassi helped with my burning mouth. Sweet and refreshing. We also ordered garlic naan bread, and oh my, it was sooo good. The rice was cooked to perfection. I was given a complimentary dessert which I believe was Gulab Jamun. It was sweet but it didn't hit my sweet tooth so I ordered the Pistachio Kulfi. No regrets. It was absolutely delicious, creamy and unique. The ladies bathroom seemed cleaned. The owner Ram was very courteous, and told us some background of his restaurant. He has met politicians, presidents... that's pretty awesome. Thank you Ram. I would definitely recommend people to try this restuarant and we will be coming back soon to try more!

Always great experience at Royal India. The food is absolutely amazing. We also catered for 100 people over the summer and everyone loved the food. My entire family is a fan. Must try restaurant.

So yummy and the staff is very nice. Food came out quick. Mom is vegan and I am not, it has options for both of us and we both liked our meal. 10/10

Had an excellent dinner at Royal India. Chicken shorma, Butter Chicken and Sarson ka saag is simply amazing. Missi roti is an excellent option for those looking for vegan/gluten free food. There's an excellent variety in food and the chicken is freshly cooked and prepared. Gajar halwa in dessert is also yum. Overall one of my best food experiences of Indian food in the United States.

Great staff and even better food. The host was very friendly and helpful. Their mango lassi was great to wash down the various curries we ordered. Will definitely be coming back for their amazing lunch combos!

Wonderful experience. I will definitely eat here again. The food was fantastic and service phenomenal. They no longer offer the buffet, but they do have combination plates so you can try multiple dishes. Would recommend 👍🏼
