They made a beautiful Alice in Wonderland wedding cake with vegan cupcakes. Everything was delicious and beautiful. Unfortunately they also forgot my wedding cake topper so that will be missing in photos but the owner did call me personally to make up for the mistake. That is the only reason this is a 4 and not 5 star review. Otherwise we love this place. Ive also had the chocolate silk pie. Family loves it!

We used Once in a Blue Moon Bakery for our wedding cake. From the very start, they were great to work with. We were able to pick up a tasting platter and schedule a 1-on-1 call to talk with someone about our vision. They were very flexible and were even receptive to a slight design addition as the wedding got closer. The cake was delicious and we received tons of compliments on the cake! Thank you!

Cute, clean store with friendly staff and a variety of desserts to choose from. We settled on a carrot cake and variety cupcakes. The carrot cake was one of the best I’ve tried in North Carolina so far. It had a cream cheese frosting, but wasn’t overpowering. The cake was perfectly spiced and had carrot shavings in it. The cupcakes were delicious as well. I would highly recommend this bakery.

My wife and I have relied on Blue Moon for our specialty cake needs since they were recommended to us close to 15 years ago. They nail every order, every time - including our most recent one. I supplied them with a photo for reference, some guidance about what I specifically liked about the cake in the photo, and left the rest up to their capable design team. The only hard stop we had was limited to no use of fondant The result brought tears to our eyes when it was revealed at the party. I had no idea they could be so detailed with just frosting! Thank you for your all the flawless cakes your delivered for me. Your consistency, attention to detail and perfectly moist and flavorful cakes always make this bakery our first choice.

OMG amazing! I ordered a two-tiered engagement cake for this past Saturday for my daughter's surprise engagement party. I needed a cake that would feed approximately 51 people. I had looked up pictures of engagement cakes with a New York City theme and found one online that I liked. I sent the picture to Leanna at Blue Moon Bakery and asked them to recreate the cake. The cake was absolutely stunning and surpassed my wildest expectations. Blue Moon was absolutely wonderful to work with and Leanna was unbelievably responsive and accommodating answering all my questions regarding size, pricing and recommendations. Not only was the cake stunning, it was absolutely delicious. It was a chocolate cake with raspberry mousse filling and every piece was taken with many people going back for seconds including me. Thank you to Leanna and blue moon for making my daughter's party a complete success!

Best cookies in Cary!! Love this place! Cookies are a nice size and are crisp with lots of flavor. I haven’t found anything that I don’t like among the cakes, pies, breads, and baked goods!

Once in a Blue Moon Bakery went above and beyond! I ordered a cake for my sons first birthday, and I got the dates mixed up for pickup. Completely my fault. The staff got back to me after hours and made it possible for me to get my sons birthday cake. The cake was also beautifully decorated and absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this bakery! This is my go-to bakery! Every cake I’ve ordered from this bakery turns out beautiful and delicious! The staff is friendly and efficient and the prices for specialty cakes are reasonable! I’ve appreciated how I can call and order a cake just a few days before an event without a problem. I no longer live in Cary, but farther away and still will drive to OIABM for a celebration cake because I trust the quality of their products.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Blue Moon. I ordered a baby shower cake from another “very reputable” cake store. I gave them the invitation for colors & theme and when I picked it up it was absolutely horrible. That place was defensive and said it was the best they could do. The baby shower was the next day and I was already stressed. We frantically searched for someone to “re-do” the decorating and Blue Moon saved the day!!! We brought them the cake at 4pm on a Friday and they scraped off the whole design and re-did everything by 10am Saturday morning. I gave them the same invitation for guidance and the cake exceeded my expectations! They nailed the design and I was overwhelmed with how beautiful and professional the cake looked. We got so many compliments on it and they literally turned a nightmare experience from another store into a fabulous experience and a beautiful baby shower! I can’t thank you all enough for what you did! I am so grateful for your willingness and talent to help out so quickly!

Once In a Blue Moon made the wedding cake and cupcakes for our wedding this past weekend and it was incredible. We got so many compliments on the cake and desserts. Delivery was very flexible and they were happy to work with our coordinator on times. The cake itself was gorgeous. We really could not have asked for anything better. I chose to get my wedding cake here and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! My wedding was very small and they coached me perfectly what size to get. No project was too small for them. They have adorable try at home tasting trays so my fiancé and I could try all the combos from the comfort of our home. They were then able to meet with me to learn what our preferences were- very easy process. The best part is they arranged live blooms on my cake day-of to make it look beautiful and match my bouquet. Oh, and it’s delicious to boot! We had vanilla cake with lemon filling and vanilla frosting. Huge hit! We loved our cake!

The cake tasting was set up so cute for us to try at our ease at home, and working with them was extremely easy. Answered questions quickly and kindly, not to mention how yummy the cake was. Cake was absolutely beautiful (a relative added the dogwood flowers, which aren't included with the cake. Lime is included) and guests loved it. Just the right amount of sweetness and margarita lime tang. They serve great coffee, cakes, and other baked goods as well!

They did the wedding cake for our wedding recently and I was in love with it! It was so beautiful! Not only did it look exactly how I pictured it in my head it tasted amazing too. Their prices were fair also. I would recommend them time and time again!

Our experience with this bakery was wonderful! I wanted a heart-shaped cake with a simple, custom design for my wedding shower. It was less than a month away, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get a cake in time. But this bakery really came through. We got chocolate cake with strawberry mousse and it was DELICIOUS. And the design, pastel orange with darker orange piping and hearts and our names in a beautiful script, was perfect. It was my dream cake, and everyone loved it! The customer service was also top notch. I will definitely be ordering from Blue Moon again.

Once In A Blue Moon did an excellent job with our wedding cake! They were so nice and accommodating throughout the entire process, from vision to execution to delivery at our wedding venue. We showed them photos of what we were thinking and they pulled it off wonderfully. I wish I still had the original inspiration photo we showed. You can't see it in the photos but there's a lovely gold stripe on the side of our cake, too. We would definitely recommend their wedding cake services and truly can't thank them enough!

I am beyond words how amazing my custom order was. The carrot cake filling is the best I’ve ever had, and the cream cheese icing was superb! The styling was done exactly to my expectations. Staff was friendly and helpful and they had the cake ready on time. It was beautifully decorated, but I ordered the Boston Cream and I was expecting there to be a layer or two of Vanilla custard - the Boston cream I’m familiar with. It was a yellow cake (a tad dry on the outer yellow parts) with Boston cream *pastry* cream. I guess I should have double checked the description. I wish they had pics on their website with a cake slice cut out so you could see the layers inside.

Once in a blue moon did an amazing job on a special order all vegan “Nike” cake I ordered a while back. The birthday recipient loved it! Wish they would widen their horizon for vegan cake flavors.

I recently ordered a cake from here and it was sooo delicious. I love their cookies as well; they are always fresh. I have a gluten intolerance and their gluten free cupcakes are delicious. My other brother has a severe gluten allergy and their gluten free brownies are his favorite and it’s great to know he can have a treat once in a while that is fresh and safe for him to eat. We ordered a Starlight Strawberry Cake and a Carrot Cake this past weekend for a family celebration, and both cakes were absolutely DELICIOUS! The prices were fair, the decoration was beautiful, and the cakes and frostings tasted amazing. I normally am not a huge fan of cakes because other bakeries have always made them overly sweet; however, this was not the case with Once In A Blue Moon -- these cakes had the perfect amount of sweetness and everyone, myself included, kept coming back for more! I will definitely be ordering from this bakery again in the future and look forward to trying some of their other unique cake flavors!!

One of the best croissants I've had since I was in France, great coffee too. We have several different brownies as well, but the croissant was so flaky and buttery and delicious that I had to give them a rating right this second.

The customer service here is exactly what I wanted to come across in a bakery. Cashiers have an amazing attitude and energy that you’ll always want to be around! I can tell that the staff are constantly hard at work and appreciate everyone’s efforts. Thank you Blue Moon!!
