This is a unique hospitality option, with comfortable A-frame single room cabins. This is not formulaic corporate stuff, but has a comfortable feel that has been well crafted by the owners. Wrong Way is in a cool location along the French Broad river, with the riverside park directly across from you. It’s very close to the velodrome. Also, you’re not far from much of the unique and cool offerings of the river district. The standard room space is comfortable for 1 to 2 people, though 3-4 can do just fine if needed. The primary bed is comfortable. The couch is not the old mechanical fold out mechanism, but rather a flip over thick cushion that is much more comfortable to sleep on. The record player with a collection of classic vinyl is a nice touch. The common area, with coffee and snacks, is very well done. The food/snacks is high quality. This is a great spot to stay in when visiting Asheville.

This place was awesome! The owners have thought of everything. The cabins are as cute as they can be, clean as they can be, and wonderful staff! We were only there for two nights, but wishing for more. The canteen is well stocked with good eats, fun take home souvenirs, and will soon be stocked with your favorite beverage. Everyone was friendly, bending over backwards to be sure we had everything we needed. A great retreat! No regrets! Can't wait to go again.

My company, Carolina Outdoor Lighting, installed outdoor lighting for Wrong Way Campground and we are so impressed with this place. Shelton was wonderful to work with and he truly cares about the property. The houses are amazing and the location is perfect! Although we didn't stay here, we spent almost 2 days working on the grounds and we can say with confidence how amazing it is! We would definitely recommend it to our family and friends!

I stayed a week at Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins and LOVED it! The small touches in each room really make this place special, from the record player to the hammock for your balcony. I also loved the grounds, especially up in the meadow which felt so secluded. I also walked along the river path every day and enjoyed the long walk up to the New Belgium Brewery straight from the path. It really does feel like an escape even though you are on a busy road and an easy Uber to downtown. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again!

The cabins were beautiful in design along with record player and records. The rooms were oddly set up. Mirror in bathroom was behind door making it difficult for two people to get ready. The balcony’s face a very busy highway. There were ear plugs beside bed, we assumed for the traffic. We loved the shared spaces! The meadow and the fire pit up front. Hammocks under the porch to hang out. The staff was exceptionally attentive and just nice people that worked there!

We had an excellent stay. The cabins are charming and in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed both the fire pit in the meadow behind our cabin and the second fire pit at the canteen. The service was responsive. When I requested a fire be lit, they responded quickly. When we asked for replenishment on coffee in our cabin, it was provided at no additional charge. The bathroom is spacious, the water heated quickly, extra towels were provided. We also had a slow draining bathroom sink which was resolved promptly. It’s an excellent location, short walk to a public walk and directly across the street from a long and scenic walking path along the French Broad River. The bed was very comfortable. The heating and cooling system worked quickly. We do enjoy making light meals in the room, I.e. instant oatmeal and there was no sink to clean up afterward and only cups for coffee. Otherwise it was perfect for our needs. Highly recommend.

The attention to detail (everything from the beautifully and thoughtfully decorated rooms to the delicious food) was fantastic. Every person greeted us with a smile and did whatever they could to help. I would strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a memorable, and luxuriously comfortable, stay outside the hubbub of downtown Asheville. Their 'Boardroom' was a perfect spot for our team of 5 to have an off-site.

The location is perfect, minutes from Downtown Asheville & west Asheville! The grounds are super cute and clean with multiple Solo Stoves for fire pits. Zero-gravity swings and plenty of seating as well as hammocks! The cabins themselves are super cute, clean and plenty of space (there was 2 of us). The bed was very comfortable, the bathrooms had a fan (very important in small spaces, ha) and the fridge and microwave worked well. The cabins are right alongside a rather busy road so the white noise machines were very welcomed and used. We had a great time both inside the cabins and venturing around outside.

Spending a weekend at Wrong Way Cabins was magical. The staff is amazing and so friendly. The rooms are so hip and comfortable, I never wanted to leave. Plus, there is coffee in the room and a cute, little store on the premises that has great drinks and souvenirs. Loved the fire pit and closeness to the Greenway. I will 100% be back. Loved every second!

Fabulous location, great staff, beautiful rooms. Some are even pet-friendly! Intimate and cozy, right across from a lovely park perfect for walking your pup. We hosted friends and family here in 6 cabins for an anniversary party/“gender” reveal and loved it. The canteen is well stocked and a great meeting place. Wish we had more time to sit and enjoy The Meadow - which has beautiful and peaceful views. Sound machine in the cabins drowns out any urban noise and you feel just like you are truly in nature…even in a city! Staff and owner were amazing in helping us get set up and put welcome gifts in the cabins. Highly recommend.

We had an outstanding stay in a Wrong Way River cabin. The cabins are amazing... very cozy, clean, and light with every amenity we needed. We had a nice private patio in the deluxe cabin. The location and outdoor grounds are perfect with the river and greenway just across the road. There is a campfire area that has a lovely view of the mountains. We found the staff at the store to be friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back!

What delightful accommodations! Wrong Way was visually appealing, easy to access, beautifully appointed with quality amenities (including the interior design). It gives you the best of both worlds; the convenience of a hotel and the privacy of a short term rental. It’s right across the street from the French Broad River that has a lovely greenway which allows us to do our 4 mile walk every morning. It will definitely be our new go to when we visit from Savannah.

We had a fantastic time at Wrong Way, we booked the ADA cabin and the accessibility was perfect for my partner who is in a wheelchair. The little details in the cabin really made it a special place, and it was great to be so close to the river where I was able to put in my paddle board right across the street. Above all I was impressed by the friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We will definitely be back, new favorite place to stay in Asheville!

Top notch. Get right at Wrong Way. The team has done a great job getting open. We stayed in the deluxe cabin and enjoyed our private little camp out. Woke up early the next day and had a delicious cup of coffee and then enjoyed a quiet run along the French Broad. Unique, comfortable, and welcome relaxation, thanks for getting me right, Wrong Way!!!

I loved out stay here from the friendly staff to the nicely decorated cabins. We loved the meadow with a fire pit. Be sure to bring s'mores ingredients! A nice family gave our daughter one which was sweet. The cabin was well stocked with books, records and record player along with games. We really loved the back deck of our upgraded cabin with the hammock and chairs. It was a perfect was to relax after our morning hike. I can't wait to go back!

Absolutely loved our stay at Wrong Way! Staff was friendly, helpful and flexible when we had a mix up about check out dates. Cabins are cozy and have everything you need for a getaway trip. Record selection and reading material were a fun, thoughtful bonus. Location is perfect for enjoying running paths, walking to the River Arts District and breweries, and a short drive to all other Asheville delights. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay here. Loved the record players and vinyl albums in the cabin. Truly nostalgic. Our bed and pillows were amazing, linens too. Cabins and property clean. Helpful staff from our reservation to departure. Highly recommend. Noteworthy as related to the Asheville and surrounding communities - gas stations close at 6pm, restaurants stop serving food at 7p, some don’t stay open past 3p. We encountered these issues for the 3 days we were in the area. We were told this has been a serious problem for over 10 years. Never experienced anything like that, especially in a tourist town in the midst of tourist season. Plan ahead and really pay attention to the places you want to frequent.

Unique, funky little cabins with lots of thought put into the decor while maintaining consciousness toward the environment with regards to composting and recycling. Love how they've kept the style simple yet tasteful and modern. Lots of nice raw wood, artsy decor that I loved! Board games, even a hammock is provided to hang out on the little deck if you'd like! The bed was to die for, so comfy especially after a day of exploring and shopping. So close to downtown but yet set apart enough to feel secluded. So clean and fresh without an overwhelming smell of chemical cleaners. Communication with the owners was the best, they even remembered it was my birthday! Great little lodge/canteen building to get snacks and beverages. They even set up a bonfire the night I was there and sent a text to all visitors to come and enjoy. I didn't get to go, already in my pjs but I'll for sure do it next time. Hope to visit again real soon!

Beautiful property and excellent hosts. A haven for outdoor lovers looking for peace and quiet. Attention to detail is obvious everywhere, from the super cool A-frames nicely equipped with "just enough" amenities to the use of local materials and craftsmanship throughout the property. The River Lodge is nicely stocked with local food and drink options to "grab and go" or to enjoy in the outdoor seating area overlooking the greenway and French Broad River. The meadow is a great place for sunsets or to sit by one of several fire pits in the evening to wine'd down. The owners and staff are wonderful, friendly and accommodating. It is just an awesome place and cannot wait to visit again!

Wonderful new cabins along the river that flows the wrong way. It was very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make us feel right at home. The location was very convenient to everywhere. We will definitely stay again.

Great location with a super friendly & helpful staff. We met 6 couples there for 5 nights each. We were close enough to bike or walk to several attractions. Yet far enough to feel like we were in our own private space. The staff set up tables, lights, & a place for us to BBQ in the “meadow” which yielded a fantastic setting to dine under the October moon. We had nightly campfires to visit & reconnect with our friends. I highly recommend the setting & the staff!

Wrong Way has such a happy vibe! Each staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. The cabin was simple but had everything I needed, plus the added fun of a record player and vintage records! The attention to detail and focus on environmental care was obvious in every area. I would highly recommend Wrong Way as a base while exploring the Asheville area, or for a night’s stay while traveling through. You’ll leave refreshed either way!

Beautiful and convenient location- Park/Greenway is conveniently right across the street. You can ride it to the River Arts District. The park has a race track for bikes, yard bowling, a basketball court and more. Many other sights are within 7 minutes. Cabin was extremely clean and the decor was bringing you back into a simpler time. The staff was attentive and friendly. We will be revisiting.

Stayed at Wrong Way for my 40th birthday with a big group of friends and family. The cabins are fantastic. Even the records in our cabin were awesome. Everyone was so incredibly nice and helpful and chill. 5 stars across the board. Highly recommend.

Loved it. The cabins are well appointed and comfortable, with plenty of room for two and nice amenities. The Canteen was great for group hang outs over coffee in the AM and beers in the evening. The meadow is lovely, with fires set up each evening perfect for s'mores. The location is perfect, directly across the street from the French Broad River and convenient to West Asheville, downtown, and the River Arts District. The staff were so friendly and helpful throughout. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the Wrong Way River Lodge for a reunion of friends - it couldn't have been better. The location was central to all things you'd want to do while visiting Asheville. The staff is first rate in terms of the level of service and providing suggestions. And the accommodations were perfect for families! Definitely will stay there again if returning to Asheville.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon following our wedding. We found Wrong Way because we had friends that wanted to stay a few days after the wedding and we wanted a location with multiple cabins so everyone could visit but also have their privacy and come and go as they pleased, and Wrong Way fit the bill perfectly. Wrong Way was centrally located to everything we wanted to do. They were clean and well-maintained. We enjoyed coffee and pastries from the canteen on several occasions and both were delicious. We enjoyed the fire pit with a friend one night also. Additionally, the river was right across the road and was a great location if you want to get out for a walk. Finally, all of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We talked with Shelton, one of the owners, a couple of times, and he seemed really nice and appreciative of our business. We would definitely stay here again!

A great concept, perfectly executed, just the right blend of outdoorsy, comfortable, different, easy, cool, fun and accessible to rest/all of Asheville. Most importantly, everyone is so nice and friendly, and the cabin accomodations are spotless, super comfortable bedding, and all that was needed for a relaxing stay - while still feeling just a bit adventurous. The access to the river/greenway made all our morning and late day walks convenient, and certainly can be convenient for cycling. River Arts District nearby and we enjoyed exploring. Next time, more bikes and hikes for us. Loved it. Congrats to all at Wrong Way!

We rented a cabin at Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabin Rentals for the weekend. The experience at Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins surpassed every expectation that I had. The cabins were so relaxing and inviting, the staff was very friendly and there were several outdoor areas to sit and unwind. They even had hammocks in the meadow area. We never made it across the street to walk the river path but that will be for another stay. This easily has become our favorite place to stay in Asheville. Thank you Wrong Way River Lodge & Cabins!!

The stay here for two nights was great, but we know nothing is perfect. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The location is nice near the river, SUP rentals can be made here. However it is also close to a very busy road. There are many cars passing by at night, the rooms do have a white noise machine to help drown the sound. A few things to take into consideration to help make this a five star. A reading light near the coach would be nice, that way if one person is sleeping the overhead room light won't bother them. Better pillow selection, the four pillows provided were are very thick and caused some neck pain and waking up with a headache. Also a humidifier, the rooms can get very dry. Overall very pleased with the grounds, well maintained paths and nice community bonfires.

The wrong way cabins are one of my all time favorite places we have stayed! The A Frame cabins are thoughtfully decorated, they feel larger due to the design! The compostable items in the room is a wonderful addition! The commitment to community is apparent in the option for a nightly campfire! I have already told friends and family! The greenway across the street is amazing. River access is also so nice!

My family of 4 stayed in these cute, cozy cabins right before the holidays. Very private, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. Loved that we could bring our dog. We'll come back in the warm weather to go tubing or kayaking - super conveniently located to the river. Also easy to access all that downtown and West Asheville has to offer. The only minor flaw barely worth mentioning was that the canteen was not as well stocked as I would have liked, possibly because we went in the off season.

We had a lovely stay here! The cabin was cozy and adorable and had everything we needed for our stay. We really enjoyed being able to stop by the lodge for coffee and breakfast treats in the morning. The view of the river and park across the street was even better than I expected, and I'd definitely enjoy spending time on the balcony if we were there in warmer weather! The location was great - really close to everything but with the bonus of being quieter and more private than staying downtown. Also, it was a bonus that the mini-fridge in the room actually kept food cold, which hardly ever happens in hotels! We'll be back for sure!

Stayed in the deluxe cabin that was spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the vinyl record player and the games in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location near restaurants and parks. In the past we have gone camping in tents in the outdoors, the Wrong Way River cabins are so much better. This will be our go to in the future, we will have to convince the rest of the family to join us.
