I had a really bad sore throat and cough for a week straight, making me unable to sleep. But I tested negative for Covid, leading me to think it could be a serious/unknown other infection that could affect work or infect others. My primary care told me they didn't have time for me and to see Urgent Care at Womack. I didn't mind the 5-hour wait much, or at least I expected it. But when the doctor finally came in and I told her my symptoms, she said this isn't an urgent care issue, I just have allergies, and that she'll prescribe Zyrtec and send me on my way. I've never had an allergy in my life, and she said "people often get them after living in a new place for a year." I said I'd been here one month. She ignored what I said and her own reasoning and said it's still allergies and that was that. The Zyrtec didn't help, and though I eventually recovered I still have no indication of allergies. 2 stars because I was eventually seen and I did recover on my own a few miserable weeks later. But it's astonishing the confidence it takes to make a diagnosis based on nothing (actually against my history and the facts) and rush me out, belittling me for being there in the first place.

ER DEPT- Place is a joke. Just take your kids off post. You’ll wait here for 6-8 hours literally. Staff is rude and bed side manner… don’t get me started. Gotta have a death wish to trust this place. If you hate your job find another. Hire some professionals for once Womack. It’s a disgrace.

Staff has no manners. Staff is horrible when it comes to children with disabilities. And they expect you to sit in a lobby for 7 hours. The charge nurse Brittany henry was horrible. And didn’t care what’s so ever how sick my nephew is. Do not recommend this place to anyone.

I recently had my c-section done . The experience was amazing! I was absolutely nervous because it was my first one. They walked me through everything step by step. The nurses made the experience the best. My night nurse was amazing , as well as my nurse during the c-section who helped me through my anxiety! I absolutely recommend them for L&D ! Thank y’all so much!

If you have to go to the ER, maybe wait until you are unconscious, then have someone drag you in. Maybe the guy at check-in won’t be so rude. Or, if he is, you won’t be able to hear him. Rudeness isn’t so unusual on army base. It does get old, though. That being said, the lady at the desk was totally professional. The hospital is quiet, clean, staff is efficient and usually does what they can for you. Normal appointments always run really smoothly.

Went to a few different departments before deciding to review. I read some negative reviews online but wanted to give them an honest try because we live on base and it’s convenient. I really believe they are responding to feedback because between the ER, primary care, pediatric care, and immunizations department, I have had nothing but positive experiences in the past few months. I’m sorry but if you’re not going to the ER first thing in the morning, you should expect to have a long wait no matter which one you’re going to so the people who only complain about that should realize this. The providers in each department in my experience seriously care and will probe you with questions and not just try to rush you out the door. They have explained everything thoroughly to me and have done their due diligence with both my daughter and myself.

This is honestly a scary medical facility. The labor and delivery is archaic. On the tour for L&D, the nurse told the group “you’ll be getting up to get yourself a sandwich right away because no one is going to do it for you at home”. Besides being rude, the providers are often negligent. I highly recommend going elsewhere if you value your health and welfare.

I have taken my son here for every emergency and every time I am reminded with how terrible the care is. My wait is usually 5-6 hours with a toddler is just ridiculous. You would think that that would factor into the triage. I honestly cannot wait to get as far away from this hospital as possible. My sons urine sample was mishandled after 5 hours of waiting so we left without a diagnosis. Went to schedule an appointment with Joel and there was nothing open until late June. They referred us to their urgent care. Their urgent care was closed during their open hours. And the emergency room is not efficient. I have been standing here for the past 35 minutes waiting for discharge paperwork…

Whatever you need done at this hospital be prepared to wait at least 3 hours. There is absolutely no sense of urgency or bedside manner. Nurses are more concerned about getting each others lunch orders than seeing people or finishing up a simple doctors note.(it took over half an hour). Do not under any circumstances go here if you have an alternative option.

If I could I would give them no stars at all. Now to start I'm national guard but I don't think that should matter. I took my 8yo in to the ER as he was complaining about his toes hurting after he ran into something while at home and barely being able to walk. The wait was short for an ER and they completed an x-ray. Told us he had on broken toe. Then proceed to discharge us with no boot cast or crutches. I wasn't satisfied with that so my wife takes him to cape fear valley pediatrics and the do the same process. This time he has three broken toes!!! I cannot express the anger I felt knowing that Womack completely missed, rather on purpose or otherwise, my son's two other toes being broken. Not to mention Womack said his toe was broken in the wrong location.

THE WAIT TIME IS RIDICULOUS.. the staff gets an attitude if you ask how much longer after waiting hours with no update . they’re always “ behind “ .. it’s really sad to see so many families suffer in the waiting room while drs nurses or whoever smile and laugh behind the check in desk .

My experience here was probably one of the better experiences I’ve had at a hospital. Unfortunately this place gets a bad rap but the staff was very friendly. The wait in the ER is about the going rate for any ER on a large military base. From the receptionist, to the radiology department, to the ER nurses, to the 4th floor (4S) nurses, all the way to the OR staff.. y’all were great! Thank you for making my experience less nerve-racking!

I went to the emergency room because I had really bad body aches, headache, and stomach pain. I was on the verge of tears on how bad the pain was. There was a nurse there that was hurting me while taking my blood and was really rude. I think he messed up my vain because it still hurts. Nurse Kay and DR. Dunn was really nice and took good care of me. I understand its free health care but we should be treated with respect. They need to make sure they are hiring the right people there. I was there for a total of 9 hours. That's not good if it was a life threatening situation.

Good luck trying to call and make an appointment. I’ve been on hold for 20 minutes waiting to make an appointment. Why can’t I just get seen by an off post provider? If you have a spouse and kids 100% just call Tricare and get a list of off post providers for them.

My wife & I had our first child October 18, 2022. We are first time parents so everything’s new. We had so much support from the staff there with helping us learn how to latch & figure out the baby. Staff members Kim & Simone were the two who helped us so well & we just want to give a sincere thank you to them both. Highly recommended for any soldiers around Bragg to have their babies at Womack

This hospital is the worst out of 5 different military hospital I’ve been to. I have polycystic kidney disease with constant recurring kidney infections. I have to be hospitalized for at least 24 hours of IV antibiotics along with pain and nausea management. Everytime I come here I have to fight to be treated. I had gotten sick in April 2023 and it was one of the worst kidney infections pain wise I’d ever had. My kidneys are extremely large so when they get inflamed it hurts to even breathe. The doctors didn’t believe I was in pain due to my vitals being stable (I am on heart and blood pressure medication.) They kept giving me pain meds I’m prescribed at home (if they were treating the pain believe me I wouldn’t be there.) I was in so much pain I was screaming and crying for hours (not an exaggeration) before doctors came in. I couldn’t hardly speak between my cries of pain and it frustrated them so they walked out. They sent the nurse back in with anxiety meds… said it was a panic attack. The invalidation I felt was tremendous. Felt like the 2023 version of diagnosing a woman with hysteria and tossing her away so you wouldn’t have to hear her. I felt like I was being tortured being left in that bed for days without proper pain management. I for some reason came back here because I’m having ANOTHER kidney infection and the same thing that happened last time is happening again even though I expressed my fears of a repeat. They do not care about pain here. Especially if you look young and otherwise healthy.

For all your kindness, patience and Awesome, Awesome care that I received between August 21st til October 14, 2022 which was my last appointment, I give 4 South and Radiology CT A MILLION stars! You took such great care of me, answered all questions, always treated me with a positive outlook in my situation and treating me like I was a family member. I thank you guys for all that you did. That itself aided in my healing!

They only criticism I have is that some of the staff has either lost sight of the fact that Womack is a US Army hospital, or simply refuse to accept it. Also to actually consider yourselves more intelligent than a U.S. Army, Special Forces ( I am SFQC 3-83) and / or Delta Force (I am OTC-18) soldier is rather insulting. The U.S. Department labor specified IQ required to be a surgeon is 132, and mine is certified at 143 by the United States Army, so try to show some respect. To the old doctors, nurses and staff that have always been there for me, GOD Bless You, and please know that you having my greatest respect and admiration.

I've been on hold for over an hour just trying to make an appointment with Radiology. Tried calling the front desk and they just say they will connect you to the appointment line and you go right back to sitting on hold. There is no way they're that busy, more than likely just don't want to work. Army healthcare at it's finest.

Please hire understanding people in OBGYN. The front office employees are quite rude and could not answer a simple question without blatantly rolling their eyes and scoffing at me with an answer. Because of this miscommunication I was not able to get seen at this clinic, and of course the Provider's were not understanding of this matter at all. You would think when a female needs to get seen for something, the front office personnel and Provider's would be more understanding; as the Army Healthcare System at Bragg goes.

I meant to post this earlier. Right around Thanksgiving 2022, my 83 year old father became gravely ill, and he was transported from Camp Lejeune to Womack. From the moment we arrived until we brought Dad home, we were treated amazingly well by the staff in the ICU area. Even though it was the weekend, one of the staff members made arrangements for me and my mother to stay in the Fisher House. I wish I could remember the names of the staff, because they deserve to be recognized for their kindness, care, and professionalism.

My wife just gave birth at Womack L&D, and we had a wonderful experience. Our nurse, Andrea, was amazing: super supportive and helpful. She was very thorough in explaining all the options with my wife, without pushing her towards making any choice she didn't want to. While my wife was actively laboring, she provided kind words of encouragement. Our experience in the mother and baby unit was great as well, much better than we experienced at Tripler. Every nurse who saw us was kind, patient, and supportive. Not once was anyone short tempered or displayed any bad attitude. The staff all seem to enjoy their jobs and love babies. The only complaint my wife had was that the meal portions were a little bit small. 10/10 would support my wife giving birth here again. I hope anyone else having a child here has a similar experience.

Came in for an abscess tooth that got wayyy out of control. They took me in gave me lots of information. I believe the doctor I seen was named Michael he seemed to genuinely care and gave me a good dose of antibiotics and something for the pain. Even ordered a ct scan. All staff members I came in contact with last night was nice and very informative on my condition. I was waiting in my room for quite a bit and the woman who changes sheets and cleans the rooms must’ve peeked in and seen me laying down and shivering under my jacket she brought me in a warm blanket and tucked me in 🥹 she was soooo sweet. Wait time I know varies but I was in and out pretty fast for an er visit. Thank you to all who helped me last night. 🙌🏾🫶🏾

I had one of the best experiences here for my delivery especially because the doctors that had to help me with such a difficult situation. OB appointments were relatively easy and the people were great. Hard to reach by phone but it got done.

I went to Womack not to long ago (ER) and will NEVER go back. After waiting 8 hours in waiting room, I was finally taken back. The nurse I had, I thought initially was professional, was I ever wrong. This individual took vitals, and then told me MD would be in shortly. I heard the nurse AND MD stand right outside of room say “ this patient really shouldn’t be here… she should be going to her MD “. They did a CT scan and I was released. After this treatment and what was said… you better believe I will NEVER go to this ER again.

I sat in the Emergency department from 10 am until 2 pm and had not been seen. I was told I was a cat 4 patient and there were 3 ahead of me although there was no one in there that had come in before me. That was my category and the people in category 1,2,3 were before me even if they just walked in the door. Who knows how they pick your category because I came with a swollen foot that keeps going numb on me and left with the same thing. I understand priorities but how do they decide I was not a priority. I left and will not be back.

I didn’t like how I felt. I gave birth to my second child here in 2020 & when I came to L&D a female provider (she wasn’t my labor provider just the provider that examined me for dilation) made me feel uncomfortable for having contractions (although I wasn’t being hysterical) she showed No compassion at all & came off cold. Didn’t seem like she enjoys patient care. In the mom & baby unit I didn’t receive much help. My husband had to leave to care for our oldest child & I was left to care for my newborn the day I had him. I was so tired by the end of the day I gave birth, so I asked my male nurse (whom was a soldier) if he can help to care for my newborn so I can get some rest. He came back like 30 mins later to inform me that he couldn’t because he was in charge of 8 other patients. I was so disappointed in the “care” that was provided.

If you need to go ER/Emergency room. Don’t go here. Go change your tricare health insurance into Select. It’s free but worst you will suffer waiting for very long hours and ended up like nothing. One of the staff nurse said that I wasn’t that important in the other nurse when I asked for a help since I’m just here for small thing. All I just want to know some basic information even though they let me sit for very long, what frustrate me is they let me wait for long hrs while no one is checking up or speaking to me what care or what they will do to me, some basic information. In 3-4hrs sitting no one speaking to me what care or what I need or what they will do they just keep telling me that the nurse will be here in a few mins three times and they just keep laughing and talking. If they are going to let me wait more than 3-4hrs inside they should give me small information what I need to do or what care I need instead letting me sit for more than 3hrs-4hrs and no one is talking to me. Again! Free, but they will let you suffer. Especially like me, i’m a high risk pregnant!

Great care. I went to the ED on a Saturday evening with a musculoskeletal injury. Between triage, x-ray and medical care, it only took 3.5 hours, which I think is great.

I was encourage my by obgyn to go to the ER for any pain because I’m have a history of preterm labor and it was a waste of time not one doctor listened to me and only given an ultrasound that I didn’t need. I know what preterm contractions feel like and they wouldn’t even check.

This hospital is amazing, beginning with cleanliness, friendliness, and most of all the care and attentiveness of the doctors and nurses. My Mom who is 90 was admitted and cared for with excellence.

If you’re going for an emergency case or non emergency I wouldn’t recommend this hospital at all! But the worst part when I was admitted to deliver my baby how on earth a doctor would not have a necessary medical equipment and puts a speculum inside a woman private part and sends a nurse to get her what she haven’t got? This is ridiculously irresponsible and careless. A patient doesn’t pass because of their illness but with a medical team carelessness too!

Good luck getting through to make an appointment. Waited a half hour on hold to make an ortho appt and just gave up. Tried again the next day, waited 30 mins before someone answered. She told me it wasn't the correct department, even though the menu page said it was Ortho. She immediately redirected me to the correct Ortho....but it was the same intro page. They literally send you in circles. The MRI staff is very friendly though...so they've got that going for them!

Absolutely rude. My experience with the outpatient emergency pharmacy was absolutely embarrassing. The staff had a terrible attitude and made me feel completely stupid for being at the wrong pharmacy. Wait times are horrendous, I do not recommend coming here at all.

The best experience I have had as an active duty solider and within my whole military career. I had to been seen for an ER of what i was told was a possible tonsil stone. So I was told to go to dental sick call on Monday. Monday July 11 I went to the dental clinic they immediately saw me and said it wasn't a stone and walked me to ENT. Well ENT doesn't have sick call but instead of just passing me off or just telling me to go through my PCP to get a referral the woman at the front desk of the ENT clinic walked me down to the ER and spike to the patient advocay to get an immediate referral placed in so that the ENT doctor on call could see me. The referral was placed and I was able yo be seen and the ENT did a bisopy that day!.... never ever in my whole military career did I ever get such treatment. I want to thank them so much for what theu did for me that day. I had thyroid cancer 5 years ago. So sometimes in these situations other people just pass you along and tell you to go through your PCP , get a referral that can take up to 3 days, then schedule an appointment that can take another 2-4 weeks. So for them to go out of there way to get me in and at least help me get peace of mind to know what this mass is, for me was such an act of kindness. Thank you to the ENT department. I. Forever grateful for your team
