Nice quiet camping spot next to the river. There are picnic tables, fire pits and clean flushing toilets. No showers though. Peaceful spot but a little bit of a tricky road if you're in a car like we were. 4WD would be much easier.

Lovely spot - extremely busy!!! My son is SURE he saw a crocodile, and we don't have the heart to tell him he didn't! The toilets were the cleanest we have seen in a free stay!!

Stayed 4 nights at Free Corella Dam just near it. Absolutely incredible spot. Fresh water crocodiles 1km away along the water. Beautiful walk or bike ride to the dam. Nice to paddle board on the calm see-through water. Stunning sunrises and sunsets! Phone reception only by the one Telstra tree on the road.

Clem Walton Park is located 50km west of Cloncurry, off the Barkly Highway. It is actually on Timburu Station so all who visit must be fully self-contained. There are three main camping areas. Seven River rest area, Corella Dam and Clem Walton Park. All sites are spacious and located by the water, but only Clem Walton Park has a toilet. It is free to camp here and may set up for months. There are freshwater crocodiles in the water and redclaw. Many use the water from the lake and river for everyday use. Entrance to the park is via a closed unlocked gate and this year the park only opened in mid April. There was a large puddle as we entered at the base of the first hill, but was solid underneath, although quite rocky and we passed easily with a non off road bus. You enter Seven River rest area vis the boat ramp turn off and Clem Walton Park through the next closed but unlocked gate. Clem Walton is for off road campers only. Stunning location. No flies and no mozzies when we visited late May 2019.

Most amazing hidden oasis. Not too far from Cloncurry. When you come upon the gate, look for the dog clip to unlock. If you have a 4wd, you can take a left at the Clem Walton sign post and head down to the wattle lined goat track to another campground by the water. Very spacious spot, plenty of shade and green grass. Enjoy πŸ˜‰

Wonderful place to spend a few days down by the water. When you drive in there is a gate with a padlock but it is not locked just unwrap it and go in. The road will come to y junction and right will take you to the dam but left will take you to the creek which has more places to camp. It has flushing toilets and bins which is great.

What a beautiful place..water, shade, peaceful and very roomy. There are so many spots near the water and around..so many different areas to park. Note free camping no toilets, showers, power or water except for the dam. Trees and grass. What more do you need...

We stayed a few days at Clem Walton Park. Road/track in and out is a test for vehicle and driver especially towing a caravan. Definitely requires high clearance vehicle and van. Once in, you are well rewarded with some great spots to set up. If you are only overnighting, camp at the late.

Excellent camping spot upon the shores of the Corella Dam. It is an extensive waterway built originally as the water supply for Mary Kathleen Uranium Mine. No power or water available but just an hrs drive into My Isa for dump point and potable water.

Clem Walton park is a beautiful part of the country. The photo I saw on writing this review is a bit misleading as it is of the dam and not the park itself. The park is situated at the end of an offshoot of the road to the dam and lies adjacent to the stream runoff (Corella River) from the dam. It is possible to camp right on the banks of the stream. Toilet, no power or water. The Dam site is similar but no toilet. Great, quiet spot where you can just put the boat or canoe in and scoot around on the water. Red claw and fish are there for the catching.

In winter the place is a little overrun with travellers, however the beauty and ease of access is wonderful. There are some great spots for the kids to ride their bikes, to launch kayaks, or to simply laze around and take in the view.
