Very much a wow factor place. A freebie campsite. It is hard to imagine it was a thriving mining town. When the mine shut down they took everything leaving only the cement slabs and roads. A must do is drive the 6kms to the mine site. Absolutely stunning.

Visited the outside area today and lots of old farm machinery as well as mining machinery. If you are into old things very interesting especially the rail ambulance.

Very unique visit with beautiful bright blue radiation ☢️water. No swimming. Sadly road is old with pot holes and some missing signs make mine harder to find than it should be.

Absolutely loved this place. Lots more there than we anticipated. The young guy who welcomed us to the premises was very helpful and very enthusiastic. Shame the machinery outside is so out in the open and open to the elements - needs to be looked after to save for the future.

Cloncurry has a very rich history, and the Mary Kathleen Memorial Park and Museum is an excellent place to visit to learn about the history of the place.

Good visitor centre, not too sure about the museum. Went through it fairly quickly, few interesting things but not worth the price. Would recommend only the Flynn museum and skip this one.

Having worked here in the seventies . It was interesting to try to see what was left and how well the memory was compared to the placards' photos. Great off grid camping plenty of room

Stopped for lunch. Well manicured, plenty of parking for campers/caravans. Playground for kids, seats for lunch in the shade and clean amenities. Also an information centre onsite.

Nothing much to brag about for the camp area but well worth the 4wd drive to see the uranium mine water. Brilliant blue in colour. Must be self sufficient for camping.

Great place to learn about the abandoned town of Mary Kathleen. Well displayed machinery from the mine set on large expanse of lawn. Well worth a visit especially if you have camped at Mary Kathleen as we had.

Great little precinct. I must ask about my chances next time I'm there whether I can photograph the unique Rail Ambulance. Good lookout too for some 360 degree views of this lovely town.

It's incredibly diverse. Well worth taking a couple of hours or more to take it all in. Plus enjoy the little oasis of a well shaded picnic area & playground the town have lovingly nurtured. A small town with a proud, rich but tough history. I really did enjoy it.

Talk about different, all the streets are still there, all the house driveways, the town square, but no actual buildings, we selected a nice house slab & parked the caravan on it & sat back & watched the cattle wander by.

It is strange that a town was built then abandoned.
