Can’t believe we have visited multiple places alongside Columbia River but never check this place out. It is the best place for a Columbia river overlook. Easy access, half hr drive from Portland city, no hiking, family and kids friendly. We arrive at sunset, building already closed yet you still got to see the stunning river overlook! Highly recommend if you are looking for some view points close to the city!

Super cute. Had an upstairs and downstairs with gift shop and scenic views. Volunteers are helpful and friendly; had a good chat with the lady and she gave me a free magnet. Not too crowded but also a small parking lot. Shuttle service stops here.

Worth visiting even if the house itself is closed! Recommend going an hour/hour and a half before sunset, too, the colors are beautiful and crowds are limited. If visiting during hours, a great 360 view, and very plentiful gift shop! Love this outlook. Fret not if it seems cloudy or views obstructed, those will usually clear out within 10 minutes

Absolutely spectacular. The views from this location are amazing, one of the best in Portland. Mountains, water scenic highway all in one location. The Vista building itself is a timeless treasure. When you go downstairs it shows the history of the area along with a gift shop. You have the option to walk upstairs or if you a disability security will let you ride the elevator. From the balcony you get to lookout over the area. On the backside of the building are stairs that allow you to sit and view as well.

It is a very beautiful, gorgeous vista house overlooking outstanding views like the Columbia River Gorge. I went on an extremely windy day so the building was closed. Other than that, everything was amazing

Beautiful spot to view some amazing views ! Car accessible. Went with kids and it was fun. However reached after 5, hence couldn’t tour inside. Good view of river Columbia gorge. Even the drive up was scenic.

Good view of river Columbia. Nice place to spend time with family and friends. Car Parking was not at all a problem. House was closed as it was past 5 PM. One can spend about 2 hours by walking around the house and walking around the vicinity of house.

Vista House at crown point has a beautiful scenery at sunset times. We can see the beauty of Columbia River from above. The road is good. In the evening many people come to enjoy the sunset times

This has been on my list of places to see for a few years. I finally got around to it yesterday. There are plenty of distant views. There is a gift shop, as well as displays of clothing typical of the early 1900's...when it was built, stones and rocks found regionally, and photographic comparisons of 1917 to 1997. It's interesting to see what buildings existed when. Many local buildings burnt down and had to be rebuilt. All of this is touched on, along with photographs. There is also some history on the building, purpose and related controversy of the Vista House. I snagged some carved, metal, feather magnets, outlining a flying bird. They are being used as holdbacks for my kitchen window curtains. They work beautifully. I also purchased a pendant with a raven and the three moon phases from the half off box. Unfortunately, the chain busted when I removed the price tag (sticky wrapped on chain). I will need to replace the chain because of that. I wish they used a different method to tag the necklaces. Parking is a pain as there is not near enough. Tour vans were also bringing people to the site, so it was very crowded. It's worth the visit, but be prepared for unaware people blocking walk paths and sometimes being rude about blocking areas. There is a coffee shop and fully plumbed washrooms. They are only open Friday through Monday to tour inside and get to the top level. There is no fee as of the time of my visit.

It’s a sight for sore eyes. Beautiful designed and a must visit site if you are ever in or near Portland. It’s quite peaceful and gives you an amazing bird eye view of the Gorge. It’s always windy though so better watch out for those sun hat’s. Plenty of parking spaces to go around and drive itself is quite scenic. The place has got a great gift shop on the bottom level with plenty of things to offer for each and everyone of us.

This was incredible to see. The views are just spectacular, and I was absolutely in awe standing here taking everything in. I recommend going up top and checking everything out as well as going downstairs and seeing the historic info. The gift shop has some amazing finds in it, and I found some great gifts for my family to bring back East with me.

I love stopping here on travels up the gorge. This building is so impressive, with amazing history and design. Wonderful views! There is a gift shop and coffee shop in the basement, as well as restrooms. They even have a penny swisher machine, my favorite souvenirs! Being a historic building, there are stairs to access, I believe, every aspect of the building. They are not difficult, but a little narrow. Even if you are unable to utilize the stairs, there are still wonderful views to be seen of the building exterior and of the gorge itself from vantage points around the building.

Lovely views! The staff were very nice but the people weren’t really. I went to the gift shop inside and bought a hat. (Be aware only accept cash in the shop. If you want to pay with credit then you have to pay in the coffee shop).

One the more beautiful views of the Columbia River. This used to be a bed and breakfast with all glass view! Can you even imagine the history created on this very spot. It's always an honor to visit here so much history to learn along is great River These were taken this morning. Gotta love morning fog💖

The Visitor Center was closed (they’re open Fri-Mon), but the view of the Columbia River Gorge is breathtaking and definitely worth the trip up! Peaceful, beautiful, and puts the size of the Columbia River into perspective.

Breathtaking vistas! Such a cool resting area. The history in Vista House is well documented. Be sure to go downstairs for a look around after you finish on the main floor. Also you can go upstairs and outside for more views.

It is a nice place to visit if you want a panoramic view of Columbia River Gorge. The wind is strong, and they describe it as the famous gorge wind. Indeed, you will not forget that force. We were not able to enter the house since it only ipen on Fridays and through the weekend. Worth a visit.

One of the best viewpoints. It's definitely windy and cold so dress for the occasion but you won't get a view quite like this anywhere else. It's best to go early in the morning, and when it's not so cloudy. But when the fog comes in you'll feel like you're in twilight. One of my favorite places to go!

One of the most amazing vistas of the Columbia River valley gorge! The building itself is an attraction with its historical significance and beauty! Super clean restrooms, information center, and great gift shop!

A great place for a view of the gorge, fun to take visitors from out of town, to see the sunset. Beware of the possible winds! They were ripping this night!

Beautiful building with nice bathrooms and sweet gift shop and coffee shop downstairs. But the view is the reason to go! Recommend sunrise or sunset for visit. Check the weather b4 you go, as it can get scarey-windy.

They opened 1917.!! Can you believe it? How history place.! View is the best amazing beautiful. Always windy and chill when you be there bring your jacket and hat. Inside building isn’t big but beautiful architecture and design. No public restrooms and sanitation facilities. They have few parking spaces you must parallel parking around street if you can’t main parking space.

Beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Columbia River Gorge. On a clear day you can see for miles but beware, it's EXTREMELY windy, like 40-50MPH gusts of winds. Other than that, definitely worth visiting!

Must visit for any tourist visiting Portland, OR. Located pretty close to and on the way to Multnomah falls, the place was hardly crowded during our visit on a Sunday afternoon. The views are beautiful from up top and are a treat for the eyes. There is a museum section downstairs in the building and also a coffee shop, gift shop. The coffee was reasonably priced and smelled great, though I didn't order one. Not many parking spots near the building but if it's not too crowded, you could easily get one.

View is great from Vista house. You have access to free restrooms, you can get coffee and souvenir as well. Good amount of parking space. No hike needed.
