Update (6/25/22): they are back open and same owner! They now have Banh Hoi (woven vermicelli)! It's real good and it comes with crispy skin pork belly and fresh lettuces and herbs. Perfect for summer! See picture below! This place is delicious and they make the best banh mi sandwiches. Been going here even when they were at the old Shoreline location. Our favorite is the grilled pork banh mi. The bread is so fresh. I am really happy that they now offer deep fried egg rolls. Crispy and packed with lots of meat. Their Vietnamese iced coffee is also very good. I am glad they just reopened their new location in Edmonds and with easy parking. Check out their specials too. Had their Bun Bo Hue as their special (picture below) and it was very good and not super spicy.

Gem of a place! Tried grilled chicken sandwich and spicy vegetable noodles and they both were so fresh and amazing! The ambiance and the service was great and the food’s so affordable for its awesome quality! Will visit again.

So much love for this place, I wish I was able to eat here every day but I will settle for stocking up whenever I’m in the area. Mai and her staff are adorable and accommodating, the food is fresh and made with love, and there’s so much good vibes here that everyone needs to make a lunch or early dinner trip ASAP. I’ve been a fan since 2017 when the old location was in Shoreline and Mai always remembers every time exactly how I like my sandwiches prepped, no matter how much time has passed since my last visit. I have happy tears from my first-time visit today at the new location 🤩🤩🤩

Awesome food, awesome service. This was my first time here and decided to give it a try based on the other great reviews. They were so sweet and friendly, even gave me suggestions on what to get after asking if I had been there before. I went with the grilled pork/fried egg and it was absolutely delicious!! I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!!

This is the only Bahn Mi I have liked in the Seattle area. Bread is fresh and soft, pork is flavorful with pickled veggies. Other very popular places I have been disappointed with hard bread, not enough meat or veggies, too much mayonnaise. This place is exactly what I expect, and not overpriced.

Hadn't had a good shredded chicken banh mi in the longest time. The bread was softly toasted and chicken very well marinated, with nice sauce finishing toppings and sauce spread. 100% would get it again even though I want to try all the other items on menu. Took this sandwhich to go, but definitely sit down for the soup bowls.

Best Bahn Mi I've ever had, the bread is spectacular. We bought one, then went back the same day to buy two more. Amazing people, wonderful experience.

Rise & Shine Bakery is like finding a hidden treasure in Edmonds, but with delicious pastries instead of gold! This place is a real gem, shining bright with its clean and welcoming ambiance. The owner and staff are sweeter than their scrumptious desserts and buns, always ready to make you feel great. We tried their grilled chicken Bahn mi, and oh boy, it was delicious! The chicken was grilled to perfection, and the combination of fresh ingredients was like a refreshing party in our mouths. It’s a steal of a deal, too, because the prices won’t make your wallet cry. 🥖 And let’s talk about their combination fried rice—seasoned to perfection, with shrimp and Chinese sausage that will have your taste buds dancing the cha-cha. I’d know. My last name is Cha. 😝 It’s like they waved a magic wand 🪄 to make every grain burst with deliciousness. But wait, there’s more! We couldn’t resist indulging in their taro bun. It was so tantalizingly good, we almost broke into a happy dance right there. The filling was spot-on, and the bread? Simply bread-tiful! 😂 So, if you’re looking for a bakery/restaurant where tasty dreams come true, Rise & Shine Bakery is the place to be. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you, and you’ll leave with a smile as bright as the sun itself! 🙏

Hands down the best pork belly banh mi sandwich around. I ordered it spicy, and it did not disappoint. Just the right amount of spicy, not too hot to where it melts your face. But enough to know it was spicy. Highly recommend...

Their banh mi is definitely the best in the Seattle area. The house made bread was everything and more! It really complimented all the ingredients inside the sandwich. I got the grilled pork sandwich with everything on it and I finished it in like 5 minutes. They have soups and bun bo hue that I'll have to try next time I come here.

The sandwich has very good taste and surprisingly exactly the same as what I tasted in Vietnam. Everything we ordered here tasted awesome and prices were affordable.

When I’m in the area, I will make it a point to stop by and order their Banh Mi. It’s probably the best overall in the sound. Starting with the bread, it’s baked to perfection, filling is just right and it’s reasonably priced. Try out their pastries as well, some of them are brushed with coconut oil and the combined aromas and flavors is great.

Simple clean premise offering home style Vietnamese sandwiches and noodle dishes We ordered Grilled Pork Sammy and Shrimp Spring Roll (cold). Both taste fresh and delicious It also has about a dozen Asian style pastries baked fresh on premise everyday The Avocado Smoothie is a but overpriced for its grande size

Best bahn mi in Seattle. Hands down. Super flavorful. Amazing soft bread with a crisp outside. My favorite is the special with ham. Also, online ordering has been so great during covid. Update 2-9-2022: The new location is fantastic!! She also has new items on the menu (not on the online menu) go check it out to see for yourself!! The spring rolls, if you get there early enough, are delicious. I definitely want to try some of the soups to dip the bread. Yummmm. There are also chairs/tables now!

One of the best bahn mis (if not the best) in Seattle! We've tried the grill beef and combo. The bread and vegetables are fresh, and the meat is marinated beautifully. The staff are very very nice and caring. We always ask for extra Thai chillies, and they accommodate with a smile! The last few times they have been understaffed, but they were up-front about the wait time, so please be patient it's worth it!

First time there and will go back soon! Good food and great service. The highlight is the bread! Family Friendly: Yes Parking: Yes, but small Pet Friendly: No, indoor seating only with no room for outdoor seating. FOOD: 1. Banh mi – special combo (Vietnamese meat loaf slices) $8.50: 5 Star - OMG THE BREAD WAS AMAZING!! I think they make their bread in-house as all their pastry/buns are. The bread has the nice crusty exterior with pillow soft and light interior. It’s the perfect bread LOL Great ratio to bread, meat, pickle daikon/carrots, and herbs. 2. Banh mi – grilled pork and fried egg $7.50: 5 stars – The bread is that good that I have to say it again – AMAZING! Like the combo banh mi, the ratio of filling to bread was perfect. The pork had great flavor and the egg was a good compliment. 3. Special of the day: Steamed bun crunchy pork belly $9.00: 4 Stars – Great little 4 bao buns – so uniform that it makes me think it was store bought. Either way good ratio of bread, sauce/spread, pickled veggies, and pork. My only ding would be if they provide you with a bigger piece of crispy pork belly. They provide you with two thin slices. 4. Daily special: Bun Bo Hue (Spicy beef and pork noodle soup) $14.00: 3 Star – I was so happy they had Bun Bo Hue! The flavor was great, and they gave me the spice level I wanted! However, Bun Bo Hue usually consists of multiple slices of beef shanks, oxtail, pork hock, sausage, and pork blood. I got a slice of meatloaf slice, one pork hock, and one beef shank… Despite the flavor, I probably wont order this again. The banh mi is definitely the way to go. RESTAURANT / MENU: This restaurant has been on my list to visit for a while but heard there is usually a line and sells out of items early. We finally took a risk and go for lunch the other day and it was pretty dead. The restaurant is a free-standing building immediately off the 99. You cant miss it though since its this bright yellow little building. Inside it’s a nice, clean, small restaurant. The menu is pretty straight forward. You can find all their banh mi options on the tv screen behind the cashier, two chalk board with their daily specials, and a bunch of large studio-quality photos that list their rice and noodle options. SERVICE: There was one person working the cashier. He was very helpful and friendly – he’s also the person that will take your order at the cashier and makes the banh mi. There were folks in the back but there isn’t really much interaction.

This place is absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in the door and got hit by all the wonderful smells. Staff was very endearing and helpful with suggestions and options. The flavors! Good God the flavors! Had the spicy beef and pork noodle soup, heavenly! The grilled chicken sandwich and combo sandwich was down right amazing! Definitely coming back!

This is our go-to place for bahn mi on the north side and a great option for affordable takeout. Our favorite by far is the Chinese Five Spice Tofu and we always grab a couple pastries for dessert. They're always super friendly, as well, so definitely check them out!

I stopped by here tonight for the first time. I got the special combo, a seemingly traditional bahn mi consisting of various types of pork and a light pate. The ingredients were very fresh. The bread stood out as being perfectly suited for bahn mi's. This restaurant was was the culinary highlight of my week. I'll be back.

Our first time here and we were greeted very kindly. The server/cashier was very kind and helpful. We ordered 2 banh mi’s (Special and Roast pork). We both enjoyed our banh mi’s and would likely come back to try other options!

The lady operating the place was very kind and patient. I showed up early to my order and so had time to shop their assortment is beautiful pastries. I got a couple and she gave me one for free 🥰. I didn't realize when I ordered that they also bake cakes, so now I have even more testing to go back! The bahn mi were perfect too, so I'll be going back there anyways.

The sweetest owner and best banh mi we’ve had anywhere! The five spice tofu and pork & fried egg are both so flavorful and perfect. We have to stop in anytime we’re in the area.

I only wish this restaurant was where I live. The service was excellent, the woman who served me was not only friendly but exceeded my expectations when I told her I had a long drive home. So far, I have only eaten the pork banh mi sandwich I ordered, but it was exquisite. If I lived nearby this place, they would have a hard time getting rid of me
