Awesome selection of supplies and animals but a few things that bother me about the store. The service is either fantastic or apathetic, I’ve almost gotten whiplash from the difference in service from other staff members. Some staff members are easy to converse with and discuss animal care, while others seem annoyed at questions and just say “yes” to have you buy the item and leave. Animal enclosures are well set up, and prices are good for most of the animals. Concerned that they’d sell used reptile lights, most stores won’t since it’s a fire hazard and generally considered unsafe, especially so when you know nothing about the lights you’re buying (how old, what they were used for, etc…) They also have a good feeder selection and prices are what I’d expect. Not a store I’d recommend for somebody without experience or knowledge in reptiles, but fine if you know what you’re doing.

My daughter wanted a leopard gecko. They specialize in reptiles and were very informative. She bought one and it cost a little less than the bigger pet stores.

Got our leopard gecko Cloe from here. She was malnutrition and surrender so we adopted her right away looking for a starter but long term lizard. First time is was great...we l99ked around asked questions n left with a deposit on her..as she was a rescue n we wanted to help. Came back and 100% different service. I literally....literally waited over an hour to get sales lady attention as every other customer went in front of me with her fully knowing I was picking up and needed set up. I was left to wonder, dodging people and pets being pet sit over helping me truly get a hot tank n set up. So I made a few ra Dom choices very unknowingly if it was a good but or not for this surrendered poor soul they used as a price tag.....I have since thrown out 80$ G [of wt they sold me and purchased more appropriately leopard gecko things. Feeder food is good but that's it.

We bought our bearded dragon here about 5 years ago, and just recently a Black African House snake. The staff is very knowledge and always friendly!

I go here religiously to get feeders and supplies for my snakes. Easily the best selection of any pet store in the Seattle and Everett area for reptile enthusiasts, and it's clear that the people working here understand and care about good husbandry. Camille in particular is always there and always helpful, she has given me good advice on multiple occasions. I highly recommend this store if you're looking to actually be able to browse supplies and talk shop, because I can tell you no other pet store in the area can offer what they can. Total bonus as well: all of their resident animals, both warm and cold blooded, are lovely and a joy to see every time I go. 12/10

One of the best reptile shops I’ve been to by far. They carry all supplies needed and a variety as well. Best prices around and great knowledgeable staff. If you are in Everett and need something for your reptiles stop by.

It's really nice to find a store that actually cares about the reptiles they have! The lady working the front was super knowledgeable about all the reptiles, and was really nice to us even though we had a screaming toddler with us. She even brought out a few giant reptiles for us to pet! Really great store. It's a little pricey but I am DEFINITELY for helping small business so I will be back for sure! Update- Still going and customer service is still great! Definitely recommend going in the afternoon during the weekdays.

Freindly Staff, great selection but they had leopard geckos on calcium sand and there hide and enclosure looked alot like petco. Serously everbody has known not to keep leopard geckos on calcium sand for the last 10 years. I got another leopard gecko from a pet store about 10 minutes away but it was sad to see baby leopard geckos like that.

We got our first turtle the other day (12/22/2020) and they were EXTREMELY helpful! If not for their expertise, the poor thing would prob be dead in just a few days. I had no idea what I was doing and it took us 18 months to make this decision- so it wasn’t like I woke up and decided “I think i want a turtle today!” You can research on your own, that’s helpful, and my zoology course definitely didn’t cover animal care. You need professionals-like the wonderful ladies who took care of us, whom deal day in and day out with these babies. I found most importantly, all my questions answered thoroughly and respectfully. Secondly, everything I needed was provided- no waiting for anything. And lastly, I found the shop to be very organized and neat. In regards to the above review: everyone is entitled to their opinion; however, I used to have a tarantula and the pictures above appear to be the moltings... not dead tarantulas. Healthy tarantulas molt, they’re amazing. And turtles need exercise and it’s good for them to be engaged in their environment. Ultimately, when it is time, I’ll be buying another pal for my turtle 😃 I apologize for the lengthy review, but I find detail important when I research. I 100% recommend Hewitt, I would never go to a PetCo . People that love and understand what they’re doing is priceless these days.

I bought a pastel ball python from hewitt reptiles on November 1st, I got her home into her proper set up and a couple days later noticed she was wobbly and wouldn't eat anything I offered her, live hoppers or F/T hoppers. She unexpectedly passed away yesterday and the store denies everything! She was sold to me underweight, I was told she had great feeding response and she didn't. I was also told she was about 4 months and the vet told me there was no way she was that old because hatchlings come out bigger than she does. I called to speak with someone from the store and they denied that as well.

I went to get a leopard gecko and a bearded dragon about a month ago. They seemed very confident with the information they were giving me, so I went with it. After joining some care pages for these specific reptiles I learned that not only was the substrate they recommend and use not good for the reptiles, but the night lights they had us purchase were slowly blinding the gecko and dragon… If I know what I need to go and get, this is a great place, but for a first time reptile owner, I’m incredibly frustrated and irritated.

Always has been a great place! The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and the animals are well taken care of. And prices are fair. You might be able to get cheaper animals online, but there are a lot of shady a-holes out there, better to have this place sift them out for you. I see some reviews claim they were not up to date with information or that they were given the wrong advise. Taking care of reptiles and amphibians in many instances can be done in varied ways. Just like plant care. Do your own research and talk to others, figure out what makes sense for you. Alot of "experts" love to tell you their way is the only way especially if it overrides another person's advice (kinda like politics). So here's my advice before you buy your animal do a ton of research, go on forum's, listen to other's stories, listen to who sells you the animal and draw your own conclusions without being too rigid to them. Observe your animal and be flexible and willing to change things as needed. I feel like alot of people think that owning a reptile is like baking cookies, if you follow the instructions perfectly then there shouldn't be any problems. It doesn't work that way as it doesn't work like that for any living thing. Anyway, great place! Don't be discouraged by any negativity you read on the reviews.

Mid-late October I bought a pastel ivory BP from here. She was very tiny and a bit thin. She had only had one meal with the store before she was sold. A few weeks after I bought her she died. I have seen several other reviews on here saying not to long after they brought their animal home did it pass. This is not a normal thing. I was offered no compensation, but when paying $400+ for a snake I would expect some form of apology and help not to mention it should not die so suddenly. I have several other snakes and know how to care for them. Correct husbandry and everything. This is not my first snake, but definitely my last from Hewitt reptiles. Absolutely ridiculous.

Just popped in to look at the ball pythons. I was greeted with a hello but any questions I had seemed to irritate the gal working. She didn’t have much to say in response. Sadly didn’t have a good 1st time experience. Prices on everything seemed fair so they have that going for them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Absolutely the BEST place to get quality live food for your reptiles. We have come here since they opened, always friendly and knowledgeable; since they both sell and board, there is a huge variety of animals to see at any given time. We actually think it's pretty damn cool that they do the boarding! There is also a selection of accessories and habitats to choose from. Parking *appears* to be limited, but there is additional space in the back. We've always gotten lucky to park in front, so I don't know where the back parking is.

Cool store. However, I purchased a humidifier for 60$ and it didn't work. I exchanged it for a new one no problem. That one leaked all over. I brought it back and though the store owner KNOWS about these humidifiers not working well, she takes NO RETURNS and DIDN'T offer store credit. Maybe consider offering a more reliable system instead of offering unlimited exchanges for 1 year.

Most of their animals are kept in tanks that are far too small and minimal. Of course when selling animals that can make sense - they’re only there temporarily. But these are *permanent residents not for sale* in the store. Several large bodied snakes are kept in enclosures where the snake takes up almost half the floor space and doesn’t have a hide big enough to fit in, let alone enough space to actually stretch out, move toward or away from a heat source, or climb. I also overheard one of the employees giving very bad advice about a bearded dragon, saying it would need a MUCH smaller tank than the person was planning on getting. He had learned about tank size from the rescue group the beardie was coming from and told the employee this, and she still directly contradicted them and insisted he get a smaller tank.

Went there today and the sales lady's was as cold as the reptiles with a heated stone. She barely welcomed us into the store. She was not rude or anything like that she just rushed us out and if we asked a question she only replied with one word and she did very little to assist us. I felt as if I was a bother to her. Won't be back.

Great local small business for reptile owners. I found this gem while looking for a new place to purchase feeder mice for my five year old red tail boa, Ochi. Great customer service, knowledgeable and friendly staff. They have a beautiful selection of reptiles, supplies and more. They also offer pet sitting!

I have been getting food from this place off and on for a while and I wasn't going to say anything, but I'm sick of this. Avoid buying feeders from this place. They constantly screw up orders, give us the wrong things, lie about sizing, lie about species, anything they can do to get a sale and out the door, they don't care and it leaves you in a hell of a spot when you get home. Go to Nova Reptiles in Marysville, they at least don't constantly screw orders up.

Love this place! Everyone who works there is so friendly and knowledgeable:) they really care about all the reptiles and are so helpful! My kiddos love going there to see all the snakes and lizards and tell them always stories about our beardies. Prices are great and love getting crickets here so much better than a pet-store. Love they offer pet sitting! I believe it’s around $15 a day and everything provided. Very helpful when my mom is too afraid to touch them or the super worms 😂. 10 stars!

I've been going here for the past 3 yrs after going in there to look for a new reptile with my daughter. Ended up buying a medium sized mesh cage to house our new chameleon while I built it a larger forever home. Great prices on reptiles, awesome prices on Crickets and the more you buy the more you save. I use to go to other places for crickets for my old reptiles and the crickets were tiny or would die quickly, but here they seem to last ALOT longer so I buy a bigger bulk at once and spend less. Building a new cage now and will be buying another chameleon soon...

Awesome little shop. Several cool reptiles in house and decent pricing. pet sitting is offered, which we thought was really cool! We love our lizard & would totally use if necessary. Also had a small selection of used items, picked up a light at discounted price.

This is a nice little reptile shop. They have a large variety of snakes, chameleons, geckos, bearded dragons, and others for sale. They also have a large tegu that you can check out. They offer many sizes of crickets, as well as live and frozen feeder mice. Definitely go to a place like this instead of the big box stores if you have a reptile.

The employees are all very kind. I came to look at corn snakes since I plan to get one in about a half a year. I asked a few questions like how large do cornsnakes get as adults and one of the employees took the time to open the cage and show me a snake for reference. His name was Beetlejuice and he was very cute :) I also got to pet toothless. They were willing to answer any questions. Very helpful, when I do get a cornsnake I plan on getting them from here.

Great place. Great selection. Very nice and informative workers. When we bought our leopard gecko they even asked us questions about our setup prior to selling her to us which I actually really liked. It showed that they care about the animals, and don't just look at them as profit. I would highly recommend.

I adore Hewitt’s! They have many different animals from amphibians, to reptiles, and to arachnids! They constantly have animals, and every time I go they have something new I hadn’t seen the first time. They are fairly friendly, and they keep the smell as down as you could for a reptile store. Their tarantulas are given good care, and when a friend and I requested to hold two ball pythons, they were both very friendly, curious, and healthy looking. Their items and crickets are cheap. Though the last time I went I purchased a Kenyan sand boa. The lady was very nice and helpful, though she told me I should purchase two bulbs from the store. I did so, and it was a cooler night bulb and a warmer day bulb. Though my problem was, the day bulb was 25 degrees too low. That’s too cold for even night time. The day bulb was quickly replaced since I luckily had better ones on hand from my ball python, but it was very annoying. The clips she had me buy were worthless and fall right off. Though the snake is healthy and friendly.

I've drove past it a bunch of times and it always caught my eye. Recently I have purchased a breaded dragon and I was curious to gather more things for his terrarium. This place was incredibly clean, the staff was very attentive and kind, they followed and kept social distance practices. They have a large variety of supplies from food to habitat. I've never seen such a vast supply in all honesty, I'll definitely be returning. Crickets are 19 cents each!!

Very knowledgeable staff, incredible kind and thoughtful. I bought a small albino corn snake from Petco and it wouldn't eat. I tried just about everything. It was a lady a Hewitt that taught me how to syringe feed, and it worked! It got her growing, and she shed- then she took pinkies on her own. Without Hewitt she might have passed, so I'm very thankful. They have such an incredible selection of reptiles and they're knowledge about so much. They have the cutest BTS, and Tegu.

Drove over an hour to come to this shop for the first time since on Facebook I saw there were new tarantulas in stock. Once I got to the store I admit I spent quite a while looking at the selection trying to decide which to buy. The staff kept condescendingly asking if I was buying anything or just looking. This happened more than 4 times to me and my fiance. In the end, I picked two tarantulas to purchase, even then the employees were quite rude. This shop had a lot of cool animals and enclosure decor, but I wish I was treated like a customer, let alone a human being. This experience left me feeling disappointed- definitely not worth my time.
