Great sunrise view! Sun breaks over the mountain horizon about 1/2 hour after "sunrise", so go ahead and sleep in that extra 30 mins.

We didn't go all the way to the end, cause we haven't done physical activity in ages. It's mainly a wooded area, but there are some clearings where you can see out. The path follows the road, so you can hear the traffic. There are some steepish areas, and places that are essentially like taking 2 stairsteps at a time, but otherwise pretty easy to traverse. I would say mildly kid and dog friendly. But the paths are narrow and the drop off is steep so don't let your babies, or fur babies, crowd people cause it'd likely cause them to fall to their death. 100% NOT ok to have your pet off leash here.

Sign is gone but gorgeous views. Very windy and cloudy on day I went but worth it.

We had a nice view from overlook. It was easy to go out there. Smooth driving. Road was narrow but smooth. No traffic.

Beautiful overlook, me and my wife regularly visit, the view of the stars is unmatched and there's very little light pollution. I'd recommend a thick blanket some snacks and an open mind to talk about our tiny world.

Amazing 3000 feet high elevation facing part of the Appalachian mountain in Asheville, NC. The glorious sunset will blow your mind and make you feel a genius traveler.

Beautiful views, and a very nice sunrise location. A relatively short drive from Asheville. If starting from Asheville, it's nice as a destination or a preliminary stop on a longer drive.

Nice overlook to get out and enjoy the view. Personally, I prefer some of the other overlooks nearby but it's hard to beat this view so close to town (Asheville).
