Had our wedding ceremony here. The overlook is breathtaking, usually one has to hike a while to find a view like this. The stone immerses you into a fairytale with nothing but nature and mountains. At sunrise you can watch as the sun ascends over the mountaintops and valleys, and it is spectacular. It is a shame that so many respect nature so little and yet make it a point to come here, leaving trash behind. Do better.

Stop here! Walk! This is the best turn out we have seen between here and Ashville! Do not do like most people who we saw pull in, turn around, and go out! Just because you don't see the view from the large parking lot with picnic tables, it is worth getting out. Don the paved path is a split in the walkway with a sign that says .6 miles. Go left there down about 30 steps and you will be treated to the cutest little stine paved landing and viewing area yet! AND, if you take the .6 mile walk, that is round trip! It is a loop hike which in late Sept had 5 different kinds of beautiful and colorful wildflowers still in bloom. The hike is easy, mostly gravel and dirt with some roots and not uch elevation. Unfortunately, every other car we saw, just turned around. We almost did also.

One of my favorite overlooks. There is a short trail to a better view & a view platform down a steep flight of stone stairs. Good view of Table Rock & Grandfather Mountain. You can see some without hiking, but not very well. I would not consider this overlook to be wheelchair accessible. Also, no restroom facilities.

Beautiful spot to visit for incredible views! Barely a minute to walk out to the view point from the parking area. Picnic tables in the parking area as well. Plug it in to your gps as it sneaks up on you quickly, but completely worth the stop!

I used to visit this overlook all the time when I went to App State. I was always alone and afraid to walk the trail by myself… little did I know it was only a few steps away to the most breath-taking view! A definite must-see on the parkway. We also found out the trail near the overlook is only 0.6 miles long, not 6 miles long like I initially thought! It has a small loop at the very end of the trail and is full of great nature.

This is a great quick one mile hike. The overlook is just a few steps from parking. The trail is easy, dog friendly and has some great views at the loop.

Wow this gem is quite unassuming, when you pull into the parking lot it seems to just be a place to sit and picnic. Then after a very short walk you are presented with an epic view with a wonderful panoramic viewing spot down a few steps. We had no idea that was there but we're pleasantly surprised, we will be checking out the .6 mile trail next time we are on the parkway.

Nice spot to pull over and stretch your legs, maybe have a picnic or walk the dog. Great views of Hawksbill, Grandfather, etc.

Super peaceful spot off the parkway. Great for a small picnic if no one else is there. Good spot to propose too!

Good pull off area decent overlook from parking area but if you walk down the trail at the back left of the parking area the is a little circle area with beautiful views. The path down might be a little iffy for some people but is only about 50-75 yards.
