Very busy for Thanksgiving. Had to wait in a very long line before reaching the food. Some of the servers seemed to be on a last nerve. Some were very sweet and a few just seemed lost. Once seated it calmed down a bit. I had turkey and stuffing with jellied cranberry sauce, kale salad, sweet potato souffle and sweet tea. Nothing was outstanding but all was typical cafeteria food. My expectations were correct. It was worth the wait for my sister who had simply ham and a small garden salad. It was one of the few places open to get a Thanksgiving meal.

I went on a Sunday it was busy. I brought a cookie it was very hard. My steak was tough and cold and it usually it warm, but still taste good. The water tasted like tap. The coconut cream pie tasted old. The staff look stressed and they were running around unorganized. The line was moving slow. There was one staff members who was rude and was telling people if you are doing carry out then they needed to go to carry out" ...but over all it was ok

I felt as if the food was a little more expensive than other similar restaurants. The presentation was beautiful as it looked delicious but did not taste as well as I had imagined. Others in my group felt the same. The staff were a little abrupt, maybe they were just busy or short staffed since this is a common theme for us all during a pandemic. I did note that this was my first time at this particular location and had some questions & confusion regarding the flow & area to pick up the food but they just brushed me off leaving me to ask 2 different people the same question regarding my pick up. One staff member on the tray line seemed a little argumentative but when I asked about her day, she changed her attitude & tone. Maybe it was just a moment but we got through it & all ended well. Others on the tray line were cheerful. My dissatisfaction is that the okra was soft and soggy. The BBQ chicken was dry & bland. I asked for extra gravy on my potatoes but she just kept it moving. I asked twice & she seemed bothered that I asked again. Nobody was really satisfied with our food so we just paid & told the staff to have a great day. The jello was delicious! Honestly, I went for the chicken livers but they were soft, oven baked. I asked if they had a crunchier version even though they were oven baked but they don’t do special orders or at least that is what I was told.

It was not good today. (Sunday 5:30PM) The kitchen staff got carried away with the salt shaker. At the table, the service staff was non existent so I just ate what I could tolerate. The country fried steak and gravy was far too salty. Mashed potatoes were just ok. Very disappointed.

I ordered country style steak to go. I don't know what kind of meat they are using now, but that was no cubed steak. The consistency of the meat was like Spam. I am truly disgusted with my meal today. If they weren't so far from my residence, I would taken it back and asked for a refund.

It's cafeteria food but there are some great hits. The fried chicken was amazing. I typically do the grilled chicken with onions which is good as well. I also love the coconut pie. Not a fan of the Mac n cheese.

This has become one of the most overpriced restaurants duriing the years within the city and they can't say it's competitive because there are no other similar restaurants to compare with. I feel for senior citizens who feel this one luxury is to eat here. One person is lucky enough to get out at $20.00. They are so disorganized at changeover between breakfast and lunch and advertise breakfast until 12:00 on Saturday as their outside sign states, and it is not. Take the sign away until you figure it out. The sausage patties served at breakfast have an unusual "porky overkill" taste to them. What is going on with the French apple pie slices I used to love? Do you recycle them every day? They used to be juicy and flavorful and now they simply are bland and the fruit is dried out inside from sitting out or recycled. Can't say I am impressed enough to ever come back.

The food here is to die for. Karen is really nice she checked our food out in the lane. She complimented my daughters outfit and was really a cool chick, the workers are nice and friendly to open up to ask questions and talk to. The White Fish is really fresh and soft, easy to chew and has no bones. The mashpotatos are really, really good! I get them everytime I come here so often. The pudding and everything else is also really good! The food is always fresh & hot to a good temperature. I love coming here, I would highly recommend if you're near-by and never had tried it before. 😇

Very long line and wait. Had to return to service line to get coffee. Personnel was very flippant when asked about the coffee. Fried chicken somehow became a special order, which we waited 30 minutes for and still never came. We had to track it down. I heard another customer complain about the same thing while I was waiting for coffee. Something was wrong with the baked mac & cheese. And, turkey and dressing was served cold.

The food is not the same. Whom ever runs this establishment needs to remodel and reevaluate. Food quality is very very poor. Before the food select was top notch and now it is very poor. They never have enough staffing. At the rate they are going I can see what once was a beautiful and awesome restaurant becomes closed.

Edit: The food tore my stomach up. This was my first time here, and I will not be back! It took forever to get through the line with very few servers working. We got up to the meat and salad and the server took care of the guy with us and skipped his wife and me, both in wheelchairs. We asked to talk to the manager and all she did was make excuses, saying that the server wasn't skipping us, that she just needed to get the person behind us his salad first. That doesn't even make sense. You take care customers in order. We also had problems with some of our food being cold but we didn't bring that up.

This place continues to score low with me because not only are the food items mediocre 😐 but the female dining room attendant had a bad attitude on 07/02/22 around 5:30 pm Saturday 😑. Also l noticed a very nasty bathroom (l mean toilet tissue all over the floor and sink and hanging off the toilet with water all over the sink and floor). 😝

I love the comfort foods available at comfortable prices. I had country steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli, a garden salad and a piece of pecan pie and a roll. My son had the fried white fish w/tartar sauce, turnip greens, Mac & cheese, a roll and a piece of French Silk pie. It was all hot and delicious. We sat in the dining room. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.

The quality, taste and appearance of the food continues to decline while prices increase. The stuffing isn't cooked thoroughly; merely formed and held together with a scoop and and covered with slices of dry deli turkey drizzled with gravy. Dried out and burnt food remains on the line throughout the day. The chicken ranch casserole contains chopped chicken fingers as a shortcut instead of baked chicken.

The food was alittle warm and it tasted horrible. Just moved here from PA. and haven't been here in a few years. The menu seems to have changed and the food sure has changed alot. Who changed the way the food taste now from back years ago messed that up. I surely won't be back, unless the food gets to taste much better, that's for sure. I had Mac & cheese seems like there was only cheese on top, the greens didn't have any seasoning and the baked chicken wasn't that good either, the green beans seems like they were just poured and heated up from the can. Also the dinner rolls weren't fresh either. Wanted dessert, but didn't try, because so disappointed with meal, but my husband says the strawberry short wasn't good either. Very disappointed, because was really for the great meal, I was used to when came here years ago. This was gonna be my go to place to eat at often, since I just moved down here to stay, now I'll have to find somewhere else to go eat.

Wow! I haven’t been to K&W in years since it is are no longer close to home but this location is top tier. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is exceptionally clean and beautiful including the bathroom! I’m not sure if this is the flagship location but if you love K&W this is the location to visit. When my family is traveling through town again, we will be back. William, Shantae and Bobbie made the experience amazing!

The last couple of times I went to get food a lot of things are missing or what they have the quality of the food has dropped no poundcake, apples or apple cobbler in fact no cobblers at all the.Turkey and Dressing is horrible most times no roast beef Chicken and Dumplings is the worst and just found out that K&W was purchased by another company doing COVID the atmosphere has changed as well and some of the people that have been there for years no longer work there. You expect the prices to be higher but the food is not worth the price you pay. If it's not K&W stop using the name. The food has definitely changed so as of Oct 5, 2023 I will no longer purchase food there and will gladly spend my money elsewhere for better tasting home cooked meals. The pictures being showed is nothing at all what you actually get. Nothing at all

It was not as expected from K&W. We love the chain and have never had less than wonderful food or service. But the food was not up to the high standards and the server was so busy waiting and cleaning tables she could not possibly give the service you are known for normally. Maybe it was a bad day for the managers. But with the alway scrumptious food being so bad I think it would be advisable to send them to other K&W's to see how it's done everyday. The Wilmington K&W is a great example so if this Greensboro managers could go there to be trained or retrained maybe it would improve.

Great place for a home cooked meal. The food could use a little more seasoning to give it that extra burst of flavor. During lunch I was surprised at how quickly the lines moved. I must admit they give you a generous amount. The place was clean and service ok. It could be better. Overall I paid about 25 bucks for 2 meals that I couldn't finish eating. No room for dessert. Dine in or take out, you won't be disappointed. Not bad at all for the price.

Great cafeteria style restaurant. Nice selection. Food was hot. I like the fact that you pay for your food after you eat so you're not waiting to pay while your food gets cold. The service was top notch. I requested a different selection and ordered the fried chicken. The server said, come back in 5 mins. Right at the 5th min, the server came out with a massive piece of chicken fresh out of the fryer! And it was delicious!! The egg custard pie could've been just a little sweeter. Other than that, everything was great!

Being there was nostalgic for me. I went there with my family for brunch and they did not disappoint. Food was well seasoned and everyone got what they wanted. Our attendant was very nice. We watched how she took care of some older patrons with patience and respect. ♥️

Haven't been here in a while was in the area and thought it would be nice to visit it always brings back great memories when I was younger with my grandmother as walking in walking down the hall it was great but as soon as we got to the food there was no one there to serve any salad the lady waiting to serve you entrees you couldn't really see because there was so much Steam so felt rushed trying to decide on what kind of entree I wanted once got down to the bread the lady was just standing there did not greet me did not ask me would I like any rolls I had to wait and say can I please have a roll and the lady working the teas seems to be full of starcasm right off, the vibe was just awkward my dad asked her if they still had sliced lemons she proceeds to grab some lemons with some tongs and my dad had just took his glass in hand after grabbing it off the counter for her to put the lemons in but she said "what do you want me to do put my finger in it" and the lady working the breads just started laughing the same lady that was doing the teas had to ring our order up my dad asked if they still did VA veteran discount and she said "what do they tell you when you normally ask" and he said "I guess they put it on there"she said "okay it's on there" and then they continue to laugh so we're looking at each other like okay not sure what's funny so we were like "hahaha" so awkward!!! The lady working the dining room was the most Pleasant and just filled with joy and great customer service she was running around making sure everyone had what they needed and was good even the lady in the front when my dad asked about VA veteran discount she said no you can get a child's plate with chop steak & mashed potatoes next time you come! so overall the experience was awkward but it did bring back great memories sitting in the dining room reminiscing about my grandmother and other family members that we used to come here with when I was younger!

The service there is so friendly and well mannered! The food is delicious! The deserts are heavenly! I'm always pleased with everything when eating at K&W... Also the sweet tea is the best!!! The atmosphere is always comfortable. They make you feel so welcome. They are always ready to help. You never have to ask for a refill! The food is always fresh and hot. There are always specials throughout the week and on the weekend. So if you want some delicious food that is always served with a big smile go to K&W's!!! I love to go here and just unwind. The prices are not bad at all as well(:

Very nice place! I especially love the long hallway one must travel to get to the line to order. Such a neat design! Staff were very friendly and attentive. This was my first time at this particular K&W. Much larger than the one I typically frequent. The food was good, my only complaint was the mashed potatoes. Tasted more like instant potatoes rather than homemade style. But that's not a biggy, just a personal taste. lol Anyways, they had nice array of southern cuisine.

Whenever I come back to Gboro, I eat here, as I have many times when I lived here. Unfortunately, as with everything else, the prices have greatly increased. The food is still good, but a lot more expensive than it used to be. Still a great cafeteria to get a variety of salads, meats, seafood, chicken, vegetables and rolls!

Very good, inexpensive food, with large leftover portions for take home! Very nice staff. We lost our electricity in the middle of the night last night so we decided to warm up and dine in. This was a much needed break for us today! Thank you!

We were there for Thanksgiving which was delicious. There's always variety so probably everyone can find something they like.....salads....meats/entrees. Vegetables....breads....desserts... this is daily but will not always be exact same meats and Vegetables.....but always good......I go to K & W often.

Roast beef used to be much better, but now they have to cook it to well done which makes it a little tough. But everything else is great. I especially like the ground beef patty with macaroni and cheese and green beans. It's maybe not the best, but for my tastes I can't find any anywhere else that comes close. (my mouth is watering just thinking about the sides and will probably eat there tomorrow.

  • 3/5 Paul P. 1 year ago on Google
My experience at this establishment is mixed. I've had good meals here but recently (twice in a row), the food quality was only ok. My last meal was only ok because the watermelon was over-ripe. The time before I had another side dish that was only ok. The group I'm with like to come here once a month. To be honest, I doubt I'd come here on my own. There are better tasting meals for the same price in Greensboro.

The food is very good at the Friendly location. I only wish you would do Turkey and dressing more often. I call the holiness and you just don't have it that often. Do Turkey and dressing more on week days. Thank you. Karen
