Summit health has gone down hill over the past few years. The place is a joke I'm still waiting for disability and the Neuro surgery department is the worst I've been to going back to jfk or st Peter's university hospital.

Definitely a horrible experience. To get paperwork sent to your disability is a problem. They’ll tell you I’ll do it right now, ok no problem it will take 30 min, and it’s been three weeks. Nothing filled out, no Dr. signature, and nothing sent over to UNUM. 3 weeks and nothing moving forward.

I've been using Summit Health for several years and have noticed the service provided to patients to be steadily declining. During a recent illness I found patient care to be non existent. I had severe stomach pain and went to Urgent Care, a Summit Health subsidiary to be treated. I was diagnosed with an infectious disease and given antibiotics and told to make an appointment with an infectious disease doctor for the next week. Upon calling Summit Health and explaining my situation I was told that I could not get an appointment for at least two weeks, despite the fact that there were four doctors in that department. I tried to explain that the doctor said I had to be examined wirthin a week and I was a Summit Health patient. I then contacted patient relations and received a voiemail from Nicole B. who asked that I call her back. I eft two messages for her to please call me back but she never did. Unless you're seeking a health group that bounces you around from doctor to doctor I would seek healthcare elsewhere. This review is on behalf of my wife Karen who relates her experience with this provider.

Summit's medical staff is terrific as is their medical computer system which allows for total integration of care. However the bookkeeping department in Maine is a disaster. It takes forever for them to apply payments which often seem to get lost and it is impossible to reach them by phone to address mistakes. In spite of their incompetence they do not hesitate threatening to turn your account over to a collection agency for invoices they erroneously report as unpaid.

Absolutely the worst medical group I've ever dealt with. Trying for 4 years to resolve a billing problem that's paid, yet nobody actually does their job to resolve the issue. Lastly, they overbill for everything it's impossible to speak to a supervisor. These people have zero ethics.

HAD been a loyal patient since the early 1990s When SMG was only in Summit, In recent years, the quality of care has diminished, the billing dept and so called patient relations is a complete disaster. Do yourself and family a great benefit, do NOT start with SMG or new branding named Summit Health or move on. SMG is on social media sites for people complaining all for the same reasons. There were/are some great doctors, over all it is not worth the aggravation dealing with the other depts. I could go on. JC

Horrible staff and administration they treat their employees horribly. Highly would not recommend working here or getting care from summit health. I lost a sibling and they fired me for missing days due to preparing for the funeral. Approved my days then fired me a week later. Horrible experience with this company.
