good Indian. Great flavor for all our dishes (Tikka Masala Chicken, Yellow Dal Tarka, Meat Lover Samosa's Platter, Chana-Masala, Saag-Paneer, mango lassies). Food is more sweet than spicy which isn’t my preference, but others enjoyed it. I’m always a little hesitant to order take out from a buffet because of freshness (and extra careful since COVID) but the flavor and freshness of the meats/veggies were good. Some specific feedback / FYI while ordering: 1. Rice is included with the meals, the menu isn’t clear on that so we ordered/paid for rice which wasn’t needed 2. Food delivery was quick, think more time was spent on the actual delivery (we like ~15 min from the restaurant but it also feeds into my concerns of eating from a buffet but good if you’re a bit impatient) 3. Food was Luke warm on delivery. Understand it’s winter but having my food made and delivered in 30 min I’d expect my food to be at least warm. 4. Food & drinks werewell packaged to prevent leaking. No straws were provided for Mango Lassies so it took some of the fun away from drinking it Notes on specific food items: FYI - rice was included with each meal (consolidated) & meals came in 1/2 packages 1. Tikka Masala Chicken - good flavor, right amount of chicken and sauce 2. Yellow Dal Tarka - good - more mushy than i think I’ve had in the past. Hints of sweetness in each bite 3. Meat Lover Samosa's Platter - good mix of non-vegetarian samosas. 2 Lamb, 1 Crab, 2 Chicken (literally just tikka chicken). They were a little cold but had good flavor. Was the first time i had a crab one and it was tasty if you like crab. 4. Chana-Masala - good. Chickpeas were well cooked, if you prefer them a little softer suggest reheating them (but again, my food was Luke warm). It had something sweet in there (i think it was mango chutney) which gave it a nice bite. Again, i prefer things a little spicy so i didn’t love this compared to other places 5. Saag-Paneer - good, standard saag paneer 6. mango lassies - standard mango lassie, request straws if you don’t have any at home 7. Garlic Naan - standard naan. It wasn’t warm so had to reheat

Simply outstanding. I’m a huge critic of Indian cuisine and Begum Palace knocked it out of the park. I absolutely love two dishes: Channa masala and Aloo Gobi. They were both among the best I have ever had in North America. The others in my part loved the naan, I didn’t try it. Oh, the samosas were outstanding as well. I never rate samosas highly as they are often boring. These were great! We ordered takeout and they were right on time. I brought it home and everything traveled well. I highly recommend Begum Palace.

We ordered for takeout in our way from PA to NJ and were excited to try based on ratings but we got very disappointed soon. Kheema naan and paratha was dry, ordinary chicken tikka masala for $19.50 and the quantity unlike pictures online. Descent chicken biryani. Not authentic Indian food you may want to spend $50+ for two.

Food was not very seasoned so I checked the menu to see if they had any additional pickles to add some spice to it. When the bill came a $6.00 charge was added to the bill for Chai tea he said it was for the Achar. When I referred to the acahr in the menu being 1.95 he said that menu was 5 years old and the new menu would be here in a few weeks with the new prices and refused to honor the price. Save yourself the time find a better more honest option elsewhere.

Lunch buffet: Food is always fresh. Huge variety. Dishes are always changing on different weekends so your palate doesn’t get bored. You can tell the chefs take pride in renovating and perfecting the food selection. The restaurant is clean and staff are friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

Authenticity - None Portion - small Ordered garlic Nan and chicken Tikka masala. Garlic Nan hardly had any garlic on it and it was dry as potatoe chips. Chicken Tikka masala tasted more like a tomato masala and chicken pieces were begging to be cooked in curry. Chicken biryani was a disappointment as the rice was partially cooked and filled with raisins.

I went to Begum Palace in jan 2022 with my family. Very nice and cozy place for family dine-in. Many people order online/ on phone and take the pick up. Very nice indoor services, good food. They adjust the spice level for kids. My kids loved aloo tikki and are asking me to visit begum palace weekly. Definitely a must try place. I'm coming to you again soon! Maybe with colleagues, friends this time and kids again too. Thanks.

For someone who loves buffet this was the worst buffet ever. DO NOT go here if you are a vegetarian. I literally had just 1 curry available that too a corn sabzi, no paneer not as an appetizer or a curry.. who wants to eat lemon rice in buffet?biryani was not even an option.. Out of 3 appetizers not a single one was good. Literally felt Waste of money every single second I was there. Oh and ya if you go with a kid it's still the same price as an adult for such great buffet.

I keep coming back to this restaurant because the food is absolutely delicious. I like that they give you the option of choosing your spice level (some indian restaurants don't really honor that). The lamb i had from this place was so tender, the dal tadka absolutely delicious, appetizers are great...will definitely return always.

I’ve been ordering from here and dining here for over a year. Both my take-out and dining-in experiences have always been a great. The food is consistently delicious and the staff is very friendly, with great service. I will continue to be a patron and recommend this restaurant to others.

The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Answered our questions and made recommendations. Provided a homemade hotsauce on the side, which was hot and flavorful.

Editing our review here, the owner refunded our money after we complained on social media. This spot is our usual / go-to and fairly consistent in quality. We only had a single bad experience but the owner was a gentlemen about it when he caught wind and handled it well.

I am vegetarian Indian. So I know how good is supposed to taste. They had only 4 items at the buffet that I could actually eat, and one of them is white rice. They put sugar in all the other items. There was absolutely no spice used in the food. If you are looking for authentic Indian food go somewhere else.

good but expensive. got the chicken tikka masala and lamb biryani and both were really good and flavorful. garlic naan was good as well! but total for our meal was over $60 for 2 people. also there were no other people dining in for the whole time we were there

They have really great vegetarian options, maybe even vegan, not sure, and the decor is dazzling as it was Valentine's day themed. I got chicken tiki masala with garlic naan and I forgot the name of their tea. Everything was delicious 5/5 they did take their time cooking even though it wasn't busy the night I was there but the staff was friendly and they have us lentil chips with dip in the meantime. Overall a great hidden gem for great Indian food.

Perfectly prepared and served dishes, with thoughtful suggestions from the waiter. We gobbled up every bite of the paneer tandoori and butter chicken with abundant naan. The ambiance was lovely though the American pop playing a bit loudly seemed more suited to a pizza parlor.

Food has flavor, the portions are decent and the prices have changed. Came here for lunch and I thought the menu was up to date. I was wrong. What I thought would be an $11-$13 lunch ended up being $25. I get that prices have increased however I wish I was reflected on the website. Their mobile ordering system did not work so I called in my order and was not told what the total was. Only that it would be ready for pickup in 25 minutes. Not enough sauce for the rice given. Items were missing. Looking through other reviews I see others have gone though similar experiences as I have. Probably won’t be back anytime soon.

This used to be my favorite place to eat, but prices have gone up on everything and portions have gotten a lot smaller. Veg samosas are half the size they used to be and its all just pastry and no filling, the little sauce cups are bigger than the samosa. I ordered kheer rice pudding but received something else instead. Just all round disappointing

It is a Indian restaurant for American palette. If you are looking for authentic Indian, this is not it. The spices are toned down, some other flavors amplified. It was weird overall. Ordered Vegetable and meat samosas, Vegetable pakoda, kala mirch lamb, paneer butter masala and begum special biryani. Vegetable samosa and pakoda were the best of the lot, Meat samosas were very dry. Paneer butter masala tasted weird. Kala mirch lamb was good, slightly spicy but works for me. The biryani looked like a biryani but lacked any kind of flavor or joy that you get after eating one. Can't put my finger on why it tasted the way it did. Doing this to a biryani, it's blasphemy. The ambience and service was good, that's why the three stars. Won't visit again.
