It's one of the worst airports I have ever seen. I was travelling back to Canada through this airport, which was an awful experience. First, there was an extensive lineup for security because there was a small passage through which people lined up. There were only three machines for the security. After completing the security, when I reached the gate area, it was a complete mess. There was no space to sit and not a good restaurant to eat at. The gates are used both for arrival and departure, which was so confusing. I am not going to travel through this airport again.

Would have given 0 stars if I could. Flying back from Europe only to be greeted to a dumpster fire of an airport. Customs was essentially 4 agents for hundreds of us trying to catch our next flight. All of the automated passport machines weren't being used. Nothing is labeled clearly and we couldn't find how to get to our terminal/gate. Finally had to ask someone how to get to terminal c as we sprint trying to dodge people standing in the aisles. We had to go thru security like everyone else even though we'd done this with our international flight. The security checkpoint was extremely delayed causing us to miss our fight. We ended up having to spend the night in this toilet of an airport. Our original flight arrived after 10pm so everything was basically closed. The bathrooms are gross and lucky if the stalls lock. There's garbage everywhere and the gates look like they're being used for storage. Avoid this airport if you can.

It is one of the best airports in US as well as in the world. Everything is automated and clearly written. Support staff is present to help and guide. It is a neat and clean airport. Passengers and family members ( who came to drop the passengers) are allowed to go till the security point to say final bye before the flight. Security staff are strictly doing the work and don’t allow any irregularities. Lot of duty free shops are present. Lot of continental restaurant are also present. Leading coffee chains also have their shop. Luggage cart was not free it was charged $6 per cart. Everything else was good in the multiple visits I had at EWR. It has lot of accessibility for wheelchairs.

My review is for Terminal C. A very busy airport, but improvements have been made to make the airport experience more comfortable. There are two large Duty Free stores, but not many smaller shops. Plenty of eateries and bars can be found.

A very outdated and cramped airport. Seems like a massive missed opportunity not to have a famous chain like Shake Shack here. I’m in Terminal A, which is where it seems the Canadian flights are. The staff all seemed nice and professional but the security area is super small with a narrow corridor to line up in. There is no Duty Free or other shops. The food options are almost non existent. There’s an Earl Of Sandwiches which has a 2.4 Google rating (I didn’t actually have a bad experience here) and a coffee shop that has a 1.4 Google rating.

Wow. I am truly impressed with what the locals administration has done with the renovation of EWR. Other than the bus ride between terminals, it looks absolutely amazing. Better food choices in each terminal and better lounge selection as well. No shortage of bars or coffee shops. Clean and well maintained. Still looks new and spotless. Keep up the good work and lets get a tram system up and running between A and C terminals.

They have updated this airport and made it incredibly easy to navigate. The spacious area allows you to claim your baggage so easily. It is spotless and spacious. Even the bathrooms are clean and spacious. The attendants are very helpful and they allow pick up from Uber and Luft so easily instead of making you walk so far like at JFK. This was the first time I actually enjoyed arriving in New Jersey airport!

We came through this airport while visiting relatives living in New Jersey. And took Porter Airlines for our onward journey to Ottawa. We liked the airport and had no trouble in both cases - arriving and departing. While coming, we had to wait a bit for our luggage, about 45 minutes, but we didn’t lose our luggage and didn’t mind the wait after hearing about the problems in other airports. Coming back to Canada, Porter was well organized in Terminal B. Dropping of luggage was a breeze. So was going through the security. Not crowded and the agents were friendly and helpful. The airport is old but that didn’t bother us. If you encounter problem with connection and need to stay overnight, there are hotels in the near by communities. Hotels in Edison are about half hour drive from the airport.

Extremely busy. Security had long lines but lines were moving fast. It seems they are renovating the terminals for lots of seats etc outside the gates have changed. Eager to see the new look. I was told that one terminal has completed renovations and check ins are automated and quick. As the population increases in NJ, it does need separate airports, national and international.

I was really impressed with Newark Airport, especially the new Terminal A. It’s modern and has cool features like tables where you can wirelessly charge your phone. The airport is big with lots of shops and places to eat. We flew Jet Blue and it was great. Terminal A was very clean and the bathrooms too. The TSA lines were quick, and we didn’t even need to use our CLEAR membership. One downside is that there are no lounges for Priority Pass members, which is a bit disappointing. Getting to the rental cars was easy. You just take an elevator to the second floor and walk across a bridge. The car garage seemed really new and convenient. Overall, Newark Airport, especially Terminal A, is impressive and user-friendly, except for the lack of lounges for Priority Pass.

Not my favorite airport! It’s ok, it’s clean and they have bars and restaurants all over, however …very difficult to navigate when it comes to ordering food, I understand that they want everything to go fast and smooth with a computer system but to order and have to always use a credit card or not be able to ask anyone about a particular food or drink….. At the gates there is not much space to sit, at least not enough for all the passengers waiting. The staff at United was nice to me but, I did witness how one of them ignored an older lady that had been waiting for hours, every time she asked a question he would just make her wait and barely gave her any explanation.

Fly in here a few times a year and every time it is smooth. From getting off my flight to going through customs, easy and fast. Now they have the doors labeled clearly when exiting the terminal so that you can properly tell your ride where you are at. Last time I was here they did not have that and made it confusing for everyone.

Newark Liberty International Airport has long been my choice when traveling by air from the Northeast. It is a major operating hub for United and many of their Star Alliance partners. It has also become an airport of prominence for many budget carriers. Customs staff are always courteous and efficient. While some of the terminals and facilities show their age, I find the entire airport to be clean and well-managed. Even during the height of the ongoing pandemic, the airport dedicated itself to providing a safe and clean environment for all travelers. More specifically, Terminal B is older, and shows it’s age in many areas. The concourses are disconnected making connections impossible without an additional security check. On the other hand, Terminal C is modern and contemporary, with more improvements in progress. Newark is a far better choice than neighboring Kennedy Airport. It is a seamless AirTrain and New Jersey Transit ride away to Penn Station in Manhattan. Parking is also more affordable and accessible here. I look forward to traveling through Newark Liberty International Airport in the near future.

Honestly, I am SHOCKED at how well this airport moved along. They had sanitizing stations, everyone wore masks, lines were jam-packed but the staff kept switching the rows around so people could go different directions, and the stores/bathrooms were kept unbelievably clean. Just shocked...PLEASANTLY shocked! Great job United terminal C!

It's an interesting airport. It's mainly super clean but due to the numerous number of pets traveling...and certain owners, just be careful of random dog poop here and there. Terminals are generally easy to transfer in between but it does take quite a while. Whatever estimate you see on the sign, add another 5min at least to the time written there. Lastly, no lounges except for business class+ which makes this a horrendous airport for Priority Pass/Dragonpass and AMEX travellers. A fair number of variety for restaurants though.

Had a layover here between Europe and Atlanta. It was exiting to see New York City across the river from our boarding area. This is a very large airport but well organized. We were told all passengers on our flight had to pick up our checked bags even if we had a connecting flight and carry our bags through passport control. We landed at the international flights terminal, went through passport control quickly, then handed our bags back to be taken to our connecting flight. Sounds a little confusing, but in reality it wasn't. The trick is to pick up your bag and carry it through passport area, and then hand it back over to the baggage guys who are waiting on the other side and will put it on your connecting flight. If you don’t do this your bag stays in Newark going round and round all alone on the baggage carousel. (This happened to me in Egypt and it took 3 days and tears on my part to get my bag.) Then take what they call the Air Train to another terminal for connecting domestic flights. Easy to find the train with good signage. Many places to get some food or drinks. Very clean airport and restrooms.

If you have the means and can go to the Polaris Lounge I highly recommend it. It's quiet and large and the food is pretty good. The bar is fully stocked. Plenty to eat and drink. Showers and quiet rooms too. The quiet rooms are awesome. If you are alone with your significant other and wanna get away from it all. Take them back to the quiet rooms for a little "nap", then finish off with a hot shower. Mile high has nothing on Polaris Lounge.

It has improved a lot. Hundreds of travelers returning and leaving the country after this Pandemic years. The restrooms were pretty cleaned and the airport employees, although looked a little bit overwhelmed, were extremely professional and helpful.

One of my least favorite US airports, but hopefully after the completion of the construction EWR will be easier accessible and also more traveler friendly. First glimpses of the much needed modernization can be spotted already and the staff at Check-in, baggage claim and TSA was friendly. Majority of shops and restaurants were closed before 11 am on a weekday (9/21). Olde Glory coffee β˜•οΈ however was open and is an alternative to the big chains.

TSA was slow and unconventional even with pre-check and very minimal foot traffic. The airport is like dark and gloomy with the gray carpet and dark blue seats. Just sucks the mood right out of ya. Other than that it's very easy to navigate, they have a couple spots for food. Very easy to find the rental car facility as its attached via AirTran.

Great airport, good size, and easy to navigate through. Signage is very good and they have friendly staff everywhere willing to help. When arriving, there are lots of taxis and special locations to get picked up by Uber or lyft. Makes getting picked up a breeze. Definitely recommend this airport. One of the easier airports to navigate thru.

Pretty regularly awful, have LANDED here three flights in a row where we need to wait for a gate for at least 25 minutes on the plane just sitting on the runway and now today since the time we have touched down it’s been one hour total 35 minutes on runway 25 minutes waiting for bags no clue when they are coming. This place has me highly Karen right now. This is the better experience. Flying OUT is even worse somehow believe it or not

Beautiful but busiest airports of US. Sharing some pics for Terminal C. Less eatouts in this Terminal. Still neat and clean.

Thi review is specific to Terminal A, the modern, rebuilt $2.7b space that will floor you. The open concept plan is stunning. Everything from the modern and clean bathrooms to endless places to eat and shop, you'll forget you're standing in the middle of an airport. Next time you're here, come a bit earlier and walk around. You'll be glad you did.

The airport is well maintained the sign boards are very clear and can help you navigate through the airport easily. Staff are very friendly. There are few eateries available. Gift/duty free shops are also there. Bathrooms are clean. Lots of places to wait

Gate area near C99 was great. Huge improvement throughout terminal T with plenty of charging areas and seats to order food. The bistro area is great offering many options. I ate at the Ramen bar and had sushi 🍣 .

Being one of the most busiest airport, the overall experience has been quite good. Be sure to reach early during the holiday periods, extremely long lines at the security check..

There is construction going on at the airport, so it’s causing a little bit of extra delay. TSA it was highly unorganized and also was delayed because of their disorganization smh. TSA was friendly but very slow.
