Pomene Beach Camp - better known perhaps as Ian's place - was the highlight of our trip to Mozambique, Swaziland and South Africa. I never write reviews but was happy to do so this time. It really is stunning in terms of scenery, looking out over a beautiful beach and bay. The owners Ian and Steffi are legends. You need a 4x4 to get there, and if you do you won't be disappointed. Since it's so remote, it feels special and authentic (not a single sales guy on the beach, in fact almost no one at all). The bay provides for a perfect point break for surfing, better in my experience than Tofu and Ponta do Ouro. Great food, nice rooms/huts and overall just good value for money. The old and deserted hotel on a nearby hill overlooking the bay is something out of a movie.

Just know your going to want to stay a lot longer then you planned to. The place is just perfect in so many different ways, the ocean, the beach, the serious lack of crowds & Ian is an amazing host host. Funny as & has a great local knowledge. I'd give it a bunch more stars if I could. This little beach lodge deserves at least 10 stars. Keep up the amazing work you guys do.

Absolutely magic place in the middle of nature with nice thatched roofed chalets on the dune offering a breathtaking sea-view. Ian and Steffi receive you with a warmly hospitality and transform your stay to a never forgettable vacation in Paradies. 5star cook Markus pampers you with varieties of delicious sea-food.looking forward to visit you again in 2024. Wow. I’ve traveled all over the world and have never had a more authentic and genuine experience than that provided by Ian and Stef. No request was too much and they are the most kind, genuine and friendly people. We were instantly made to feel at home in the most beautiful and secluded camp. The whole area is like a tv advert and I can’t wait to come back. Thanks so so much Ian, Stef and Mina!!! From the TTR crew :)

We had a fantastic stay at this slice of paradise! Steph and Ian were so helpful and such epic hosts and the food was delicious! We would definitely recommend Pomene Beach Camp and we hope to return again soon!

wild place, unique and unforgettable experience. I spent 2 fantastic days surrounded by nature. excellent cuisine, staff and owners extremely friendly and helpful. place to see at least once in a lifetime.

The 3 of us have been here in September/ October for 3 weeks. And as the others already mentioned : absolut awesome: view/hosts/food. .... We even saw the Wales the entire stay: so absolute breathtaking! (Just be careful when the wind blows from a certain direction, the little' portuguese galera jellyfish' is there . It hurts when it stings you! But that's everywhere in Mosambik, not only there in Pomene ) Thanks again to Ian and Stephi for being so kind and helpful at all times!!!!!

Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere in a natural reserve, with a warm welcome, wonderful view and good food! I hope we will have the possibility to come back!
