Long story short, I’d recommend Nafika Tours in a heartbeat! We did a seven-day Lemosho hike with Nafika Tours, followed by a two-day safari tour to Tarangire national park and Ngorongoro national park. Everything was very well-planned and service was great since the first enquiry made. Elias was extremely swift and helpful in answering all of our gazillion questions pre-trip via WhatsApp. Communication was smooth without hiccups. During the Kilimanjaro hike, our guides Leon and Johnson were extremely knowledgeable and experienced. They were a perfect duo for the hike - Leon had our best interests at heart, ensuring we ate our diamox pills on time, drank enough water to hydrate, and ate enough food to refuel our bodies for the next day’s hike. Johnson spoke english well, shared stories of Tanzania, and cracked jokes ever so often to relieve the tiredness we felt from the hike. It was truly an enjoyable time with Leon and Johnson. Not forgetting the super talented head chef Priva who whips up a delicious feast for us every meal - our bellies are always full because of him! He is ALWAYS smiling (and I always hear his laughter at camps) as well which I LOVE. It happened to be the birthdays of two of my fellow hiking friends on the first and last day of our hike, and to our surprise he baked a cake at late notice on the mountain! I don’t really know how he pulled that off. On the last day, he baked a HUGE triple layered cake for the other friend. It was a nice and touching gesture, and an unforgettable birthday celebration for my two friends. Of course, our experience would not have been complete without the team of twelve amazing porters who tirelessly work behind the scenes, carrying our belongings from camp to camp, ensuring our tents are all set up before we arrive at each camp, and transporting water from water sources to camps to ensure we have sufficient water for drinking and washing. Special shoutout to Armani who kept our portable toilet clean and functioning throughout the seven days, and Jonathan for keeping up the smile on his face while he wakes us up every morning and serving food from the kitchen to our dining table. It’s fantastic to wake up to a friendly smile serving us hot tea/ water! The porter team work together really well - truly exemplary of a DREAM TEAM. Can’t thank them enough. For our two-day safari, our guide cum driver was Hilary. He was extremely skilled in driving the jeep, navigating through the national parks and narrow roads to get the jeep right where we can see the animals clearly. It was so fun! Hilary was also very knowledgable about the animals (he could tell which animal it was immediately without the binoculars) and explained each of them to us in detail. His knowledge also extends to the history and traditions of the Masai tribe/ community. It was really interesting to hear them. He also cracked many jokes with us, and did not rush us even though we were late, spending extra hours with us for more time at game drive and also stopping by the souvenir shop. Overall, we had a great Tanzanian experience with Nafika Tours!

Where do I begin with this amazing adventure? A colleague told me about Kilimanjaro; which was always on my bucket list and she recommended Nafika Tours. One word to describe the team, exceptional. As before any trip, organisation and prudence is key, my biggest concern was getting into business and putting my life in the hands of people I didn't know. And if you are like I was, let me put your mind at ease: I walked away making close friends. From the first email, the level of care and compassion shown by Kaka (brother) Elias and his team was phenomenal. Weeks later, and we’re still in regular contact! I’d recommend whatsapping him if you’re interested however, and don’t be medieval like me! I decided on the 7 day Machame route, with Elias guiding me each day. His level of knowledge and experience on the mountain is deep, from the different plants to the geological formation of the area. From the moment I touched down, everything was taken care of. From purified water, to getting the luggage to organising things for the next day. The meals are plenty and halal on request (good luck finishing it) and sleeping bags/tents quality and warm. You’re in good hands, I can’t recommend Nafika Tours enough!

Nafika Tours is a local company owned by Elias, a former Porter and Guide. When you book with Nafika Tours you are supporting a business that compensates and treats porters, cooks, and guides well (which unfortunately is not always the case). Nafika Tours is competitively priced and we never felt we lacked anything from expensive tour companies. My wife and I had an amazing experience! We decided to climb the Lemosho Route, 7 Days in July 2023. Our guides Johnson and Abdi we both very experienced, excellent communicators and had complimentary skill sets. We learned some Swahili and shared stories all the way up the mountain. Each day was a pleasure. Our guides kept track of our health and wellness, answered many questions and coached us to a successful summit. All the while, taking time to enjoy nature, learn about Tanzania and fully embrace the adventure. Climbing Kilimanjaro is way more than reaching the summit. It is a beautiful, journey of a lifetime. We enjoyed amazing food by our chef, Priva and served by Jonathan. Our team of porters including Amani, Humphrey, Delton, Emanuel and Nesseb were all extremely hard working, positive and friendly. We are so grateful for and would not have reached Uhuru Peak (Top of Africa), without the amazing Nafika Tours team. If you are planning a trip to Tanzania and have a dream of climbing Kilimanjaro, I highly recommend Nafika Tours. Remember, Pole Pole!

I just completed a 7 day Lemosho route climb up Mt Kilimanjaro, this October, lead by a remarkable team from Nafika Tours. My group consisted of nine travelers, from USA and Poland. I am very happy with the services provided by this company. We had a remarkable and dedicated 29 member crew, which included 3 guides and 27 porters, kitchen crew, etc. I am grateful for each one of them. Our climb was guided by Elias, Johnson, and Anthony (Tony). Each of them were very familiar with the routes, climates, and always made sure that we ate, snacked and drank enough, and dressed well for the upcoming hike. They prepared us well each night by providing a briefing of what is to be expected on the hike the next day. During each hike, they had such a relaxed attitude it rubbed off on us and helped us be comfortable with what we were undertaking. Jonathan (waiter and porter) and Ibrahim (Ibra - cook) took great care of us. They made sure that there was plenty supply of drinking water and also hot water. Ibra surprised us on day 5 by making pizza on a propane tank 15,330 ft (4,673 m) up the mountain! I personally could not have made the summit without their constant encouragement and physical help carrying my pack during a challenging time on summit night. During the cold and difficult summit climb, while my body was trying to shutdown, the guides and summit porters sang songs that helped boost our confidence, and became anthems which I still catch myself humming (sometimes). The Nafika team felt like family, while I was on the mountain, and they took very good care of me the whole time. If you are looking elsewhere, look no further. I only have positive to things to say about Nafika Tours. They are all very special to my heart.

The best trip ever. I joined a group up Lemosho Route and can recommend this to everyone. The groups are small which is great. The entire organization was top-notch from booking to the airport pickup, the hotel, the hike, the food, the transport etc. If you're looking for a perfectly-organized trip up to Uhuru Peak, Nafika Tours should be your go-to guiding company - and you can be assured that the entire money stays in the region as it is a fully locally-owned tour operator. Everybody - the owner, the guides, the chef, the porters - were outstanding, very friendly, motivating and caring. I am already planning to book another trip up Mount Meru with Nafika because of the great service.

Fantastic experience hiking Mt Kilimanjaro in Aug 2023! The guides (Johnson & Leon)/chef (Priver)/porters (Jonathan, Amani, Humphrey, Awali...too many to name) were all so much fun to be hiking with! Logistics etc were also great...2 members of my group had birthdays that fell on the first & last days of our hike, and they surprised us with mini celebrations and bday cakes...very thoughtful! Overall an unforgettable experience :)

When it comes to embarking on the journey to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, Nafika Tours is unquestionably the company to choose. Our group chose the 7-day Lemosho route, and I can only sing praises about this company. Climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro was a dream I've held dear for a lifetime, and there were specific criteria that mattered to us: 1. We needed a company with a wealth of experience in conquering the summit, and one we could trust to help us achieve our goals. 2. We had a group of nine individuals with varying levels of physical fitness, so we required a company capable of accommodating these differences. 3. We wanted a local company. 4. We wanted a company that would work with our availability and time constraints. Nafika Tours ticked all these boxes for us right from our first email contact. Elias, who orchestrated our adventure, was incredibly responsive, often replying within minutes of our inquiries. It felt like he was running a 24-hour operation, as he responded promptly, irrespective of time zone differences. He efficiently organized every aspect of our trip, from airport pickups to accommodation, transportation, the 7-day hike, and the final drop-off. Elias is a respected leader, backed by an exceptional team of guides and an outstanding crew of porters, kitchen staff, and campsite personnel. Our journey was supported by a team of 29 individuals, comprising guides and porters. Elias himself accompanied us on the climb, along with his trusted guides, Jonson and Anthony. This team possessed an unparalleled understanding of what it takes to guide someone to a successful summit. They seemed to have an uncanny ability to discern when you needed rest, an extra sip of water, a snack break, or some motivating chants, fist bumps, or hugs to keep you going. Even during those long, solitary hikes, Jonson and Tony would engage in conversation to distract you from the exertion. When our daypacks became too burdensome, Jonson and Tony readily offered to carry them in addition to their own. The kitchen duo of Ibra and Jonathan provided us with exceptional meals tailored to our nutritional needs, served exactly when required. Jonathan greeted us each morning with hot tea and coffee in our tents – a delightful treat. But the unsung heroes of our journey were the porters, who performed the incredible feat of transporting all the gear and swiftly relocating entire campsites ahead of us. By the time we left one camp and arrived at the next, everything had been seamlessly transplanted, allowing us to transition effortlessly from one campsite to the next. Nafika Tours is a local company that is making an effort to survive against giants in this space. They are committed to ensuring your summit is a resounding success and your experience is genuinely unforgettable, catering to all your needs with enthusiasm and expertise. I wholeheartedly recommend Nafika Tours to anyone with aspirations of conquering the pinnacle of Africa. Thank you, Nafika Tours, for an incredibly memorable experience.

Amazing experience!! We did the Kilimanjaro 7 day Lemosho route with Nafika at the end of Sept 2023. From planning to execution, we had complete confidence in the team! Throughout the climb the team was always organized, supportive, friendly and motivating! The mountain itself is breath taking, the climb requires dedication and the trek was made smooth and memorable with the great team at Nafika! I would highly recommend them as the best team to do any climb or tour in Tanzania!

We trekked the Lemosho route and the best route with the best acclimatization on the mountain (which was a good decision!); the whole experience with Nafika Tours was positive. Organization was smooth and we felt well taken care of; we didn’t need to worry about any of the logistics leading up to and during our trek. Our guides were great; they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable at all times. Their experience on the mountain definitely helped us reach the summit.
