This is a spectacular museum with so much to recommend it I don't know where to start. The museum building outside and inside is incredibly beautiful. The medieval section has many beautiful pieces. I also enjoyed the China and Korea exhibit. That's all I had time to see! If you are in London don't miss this gem.

My first time going here and i can’t believe why I have waited so long. I love everything about this place. Peaceful surrounds in a magnificent setting. Plenty of time to just stroll and really appreciate the exhibits and sculptures etc. Free entry (some exhibitions that you can pay for and which i will come back and do). Nice that there are people dotted throughout sketching etc so its nice to see their perspectives. This would have to be one of my favourite museums in the world.

The description of this museum (online) does not fully describe everything you will see here. It states textiles, fashion, etc. but it is so much more than that. The cast room alone is worth the visit, truly. We thought we would 'briefly' stop in to enjoy the museum, and ended up staying for many hours. Definitely worth seeing. This and the British Museum have been my favorites on this trip. Highly recommend.

My favourite art museum in London! There is a mixture of modern and traditional pieces: a little something for everyone. I would recommend getting a map on entry, then deciding which sections and floors you want to see, as it is a very big museum. It wasn't busy when we went, however it might be in public holidays, so be careful.

Took the whole morning until the afternoon before we could finish viewing this museum. It was a great experience to visit. We enjoyed every minute of it. Lots of informative historical information. This museum is a must see. They also have helpful staffs around to help you navigate the place so feel free to ask if you have specific thinfs in mind to see first.

While the square footage of this museum isn’t the largest, it’s filled to the brim with historical and cultural exhibits from England’s past. I especially appreciated the theatre exhibit with tiny people figures hidden through the rooms, and the original costumes from a number of hit shows.

This museum has a very eclectic collection. The curators have done an amazing job. A pretty big building, and every floor and every room is very well organized, the descriptions are interesting and make connections between the environment. There are big spaces with huge sculptures, and cosy rooms with very fine and small pieces. The cast room and it's collection could be even a separate museum. It was beautiful, must to see.

Amazing place 🤩. I love the atmosphere of this museum. Beautiful interiors, stunning exhibitions and exhibits. This is a very good place to de-stress, also spend a nice time with friends or family. The museum is long, you can go back there many times and you will always find something new that will surprise or amaze you. I highly recommend to everyone going to London!

An exquisite place. Absolutely fascinating and densely packed with amazing art, educational tools, and information. A must visit. It took me approximately 5-6 hours and I strongly recommend not dedicating any less to this museum. But if you're short on time, I'd say still give it a visit. It's a visual stunner. I especially recommend the sculpture halls, cast courts and the jewellery rooms. The musical exhibition is also fantastic but it might be temporary.

This is the truly BRITISH MUSEUM FOR ALL BRITISH. There are so many exhibitions to have a look for total of five levels. I have been to Victoria and Albert Museum for three times in order to see nearly 80% collections in the museums. It is great to be in the museum and enjoy the atmosphere of the pax Britannia era of Britain. Especially in the Big hall at the middle where most replica of great Italian artworks are shown. You will be truly amazed when you are seeing this, if you are reading this I hope you feel the enjoyment as I am when I was in the museum. Good day to you all👍❤️

This is my favorite museum in London. The exhibits are all so interesting. My favorites were the fashion, jewelry, and statue rooms. Also, Harry Styles' famous cardigan is here! Lastly, this gift shop was the best museum gift shop I have EVER been to! I highly, highly recommend it.

Monolithic in size and content! Mainly helpful staff and good accessibility across the place, decent toilets and beautiful hallways. Some areas are in need of TLC with wording faded and tattered, with money being ring fenced for other more ‘exciting’ parts. Closed too early unfortunately and some parts of super busy, but if you go early and during the week you can have a good time, no tickets needed. The camera obscures is fun and not very busy.

Fantastic way to spend a day exploring the many levels of collections. This allows to find amazing collections you would not expect. Shame the theatre section was partially closed. Its free entry and one of the best museums to visit.

The V&A museum is an absolutely breathtaking place that truly captures the essence of culture. Its stunning architecture and impressive collection make it an ideal destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in art and history. I must say, the museum's food options and proximity to public transportation truly enhance the overall experience. The beauty of this place cannot be fully captured in the pictures attached to this review. It is a truly stunning museum that must be experienced in person to be fully appreciated.

My most favourite museum in the world. Amazing treasures from medieval times to present day. Beautiful galleries, amazing portraits. I love the jewellery section, being able to see the jewels of people like Queen Victoria and then walk out and see them wearing them in portraits. When I visit I want to redecorate my house with wonderful, beautiful things, that will last for hundreds of years. We went early and it was lovely and quiet. Was reasonably busy when we left.

Best place to understand a little bit of history and culture about various lineage around the world. David sculpture is so much massive than I expected, and the story about the artist and the statue was incredible. It's good to go with children, as it ignites the curiosity to learn about the monuments present here. Quiet and calm place best fit to go with a group of friends who have the same wavelength to get to know something new. It's my first visit here, and I felt that one full day is not enough to get to know everything presented here! Still decently managed to visit various sectors in this place.

Speechless. To think a museum of this caliber is open to the public, free of charge is amazing. The museum is simply huge. It is impossible to visit everything in a single day. You can have an overview of the place, but if you're into appreciating arts and reflecting over it, it will take you a few days to go through the entire museum. Definitely want to go back there.

The National Gandhi Museum or Gandhi Memorial Museum is a museum located in New Delhi, India showcasing the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi. The museum first opened in Mumbai, shortly after Gandhi was assassinated in 1948. The museum relocated several times before moving to Raj Ghat, New Delhi in 1961.

One of my favourite museums in London. The gift shop is a must to visit as well as the inner courtyard, where you can grab something to eat or a coffee. Overall the Architecture is stunning and there are so many hidden spaces inside that it’s worth a half-day visit.

Some brilliant rooms - the cast rooms with replicas of the statue of David and other enormous jaw dropping sculptures and statues and monuments - it was worth coming for these alone. The jewellery room was also fantastic and so was the new Design exhibit. The Buddhism / Japan / Korea rooms didn’t wow me - felt stale, just walls of items in glass cabinets. Also Buddhism was located next to the entrance so was extremely noisy. The shop could be improved, the range wasn’t amazing. They only had items relating to certain exhibitions. I love gift shops and I didn’t buy a single thing. Worth a visit to this museum along with the National history museum next door.

Just a great place with a wide range of humanities finest examples of craftsmanship. It is genuinely incredible what we have managed to achieve. I am an atheist, but if anything good came from the brain dysfunction that is religion you would struggle to argue that it motivated people to produce incredible works of art that would have been a lesser version of themselves if the artist hadn't been motivated by their faith. From ironmongery to clothing and everything in between. If you haven't been you owe it to yourself to saturate your brain with what it has to offer at least once in your life.

I LOVED this museum, it has so much to see and learn. Personally I never had fun in history classes, and I've realized museums are an amazing way to learn about our past. This museum has a beautiful architecture. It has a lot of different collections, I would 100% recommend visiting! Entrance is completely free

So I have Visited this Museum previously. In a time when we didn't know the term 'Corona Virus'. That seems like another world now. And even simple trips like visiting museums are to be done with 'Cautionary Measure' now. Sigh.. However the museum is still an awesome educational and inspiring place to visit !! The Sheer size of this place still captivates. The architecture is beautiful. The scale, diversity and craftsmanship of the statues paintings and artwork displayed is still Engrossing, Enchanting and Engaging. The only positive measure due to the pandemic is that there is a restriction on the amount of people allowed in at any given time so this allows for more space to wonder around without the building being crowded. Do I recommend visiting this Museum..? Definitely !! Without a doubt if you are so minded there is plenty to keep you in Awe and Inspired. I'll be Back . For Sure !!

The National Gandhi Museum showcases the life of Mahatma Gandhi.Well i would say it's worth visiting. It has a large collection of original books, journals, photographs, materials & papers connected to Gandhi.Very well presented and hugely informative. On the first floor there's a hall to watch a movie about his life. The garden around includes some nice landscapes. The calm greenery of the gardens helps to alleviate the solemnity of the story. Overall it's Great✋

What a wonderful museum! There is just so many floors and places and statues and paintings and information boards- my god an entire day spent inside is explore to pretty much only one floor haha! It was an incredibly overwhelming and disorientingly huge yet absolutely lovable building. I loved everything about it. And due to the immense size, the issues in our latest... problems... were well-addressed. I recommend a visit, after all, it is free! Thank you to the V&A team for my absolutely stunning visit.

One of London's most iconic museums. Its treasures traverse many cultures and civilisations: Western, Asian, Islamic, classic, medieval, and much more. You'll find realistic statues, paintings, sculptures, monuments, ancient textbooks, and breathtaking iron-coloured structures. The building itself has an amazing design and architecture. Make sure not to miss the Raphael Cartoons and the Sculpture Corridor; they were my favourite part. The Victoria and Albert Museum is located in the museums' zone alongside the Science and Natural History museums, making it easy to visit all of them on the same day during your trip to London.

I really enjoyed the V&A… seeing all the people mill about the exhibits and basking in the glorious sunlight outside made me feel so happy ☺️ my favourite exhibit was ‘1900–Now’… If only it had been a little bit bigger! 🤭 also, rapid response collecting is a really cool collections development strategy! 😲 I think I will read more about it (rapid response collecting, that is) on my own time!

What a great museum! We spent the whole day here and didn't even see half of it 😅. A highlight for me, is the 4000+ year old Japanese artifacts. It's amazing that these intricate items have survived for so long! The casts area is also a wonderful way to see some amazingly detailed replicas of famous art from around the world in their full sizes. This museum is a great place to see lots of art from many different cultures. Definitely add this museum to your list of you're in London!

The most incredible and fascinating museum I have ever visited. The artwork, jewellery, furniture, clothing, statues e.t.c is stunning. The most fascinating item was John Constables painting the study for the "Hay-Wain" I never realised this existed, you learn something every day. The museum will have you memorised and you will almost need two days to have a really good look around. Nice cafes and pleasant staff. A good bid of advice you must visit the Morlaix spiral staircase and landings made out of solid oak and is located towards the rear of museum but you will need to ask for directions, this is truly incredible.

I was pleasantly surprised by this museum as it is not really one of the premier museums in London but it has to be one the best to visit as a tourist and a regular Londoner. The exhibits were great, so diverse and vast. The lighting was amazing and the background to each hall was so mesmerising. If you are in London, I would definitely recommend going to this museum!

Absolutely a must do in London. It is hard to explain the feeling one gets when entering each part of the Victoria and Albert Museum. There is a lovely cafe if you need to get something to drink or eat so don’t stress. Easy place to spend hour after hour after hour in and when driving home wonder if we should go back again tomorrow or next week The building from the outside is stunning as well. I recommend going on a Sunday as it wasn’t busy. Below scores are out of 10 Customer Service 10 Atmosphere 10 Presentation 10 Location 10 Overall 10

One of my favourite London museums! It's a beautiful building both from the outside and the inside. Entry is free however there are some paid exhibitions. It's quite big and you can have a stroll around all day in the different sections and floors, each of them dedicated to a different time period. There are a lot of magnificent pieces of art - painting, sculptures, and other interesting pieces. There are gift shop, a cafe and customer toilets on site. If you're visiting London make sure you don't miss checking out V&A!

Free To Enter: My wife and I recently visited this amazing museum and I must say, it was an absolutely incredible experience! While it may not be the most suitable place for children, (they’ll get bored) adults will definitely appreciate the fascinating exhibits that showcase the rich history of our world. The museum is housed in a breathtaking building with enormous vaulted ceilings that have been filled from floor to ceiling with awe-inspiring pieces of history. There are plenty of places to take a break and rest your feet between exhibits, making it an enjoyable and relaxing experience. Plan your visit around a lovely outdoor garden with a coffee shop located in the middle of the venue. The garden is a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city, and the coffee shop is the perfect place to unwind and take in the stunning surroundings. It's definitely not something to be missed! The architecture of the building is simply amazing and adds to the overall experience of the museum. It's truly a marvel to behold and a testament to the incredible craftsmanship of the architects who designed it. Overall, I highly recommend this museum to anyone looking for a fascinating and unforgettable experience in London. A must-do activity for any visitor to London!

One of the best Museums in the world. So many interesting items. The collections focus on the power of good design and beautiful objects. A must see attraction in London. The museum offers free tours that run on every hour. The collections include contemporary pieces & old ones providing interest and breadth of design features. The Jewellery section is particularly rich with beautiful objects. A huge plus The museum offers great options for sandwiches/Salads/soup/deserts and you get to have your meal in beautiful rooms or if the weather is nice in the outside garden and around the fountain and pool. DO NOT MISS THE museum SHOP 😍🥰

Absolutely stunning building with a great selection of historical and culturally significant works. Honestly I’d be content getting lost and wandering about this building (and its courtyard) as it’s just so beautiful. Entry is free and though I visited on a Saturday afternoon I had enough space to enjoy myself without feeling crowded (unlike the natural history museum across the street 😂). Would recommend!

Love V&A. We were time pressed so we were rushing through. Need to allot a whole day to enjoy this place. The indoor outdoor spaces were very well thought out. Love the mix of ancient and modern. And the fact that most of the pieces were not cased. Also loved the cafeteria. The rooms were magnificent. The food and food choices were very good for the cafeteria style restaurant.

I want to say that if you are not prepared to walk for 3/4 hours, if you are very fast, in this museum don't go. It's so big and beautiful that you have to be prepared. I was at the Louvre, obviously it's bigger, but it's kinda similar. So you can see different things from all the word and you will probably enjoy it. The also have a place to buy food inside and a completely free pool for the kids. Go there absolutely!

Fabulous museum of arts and crafts, with so many wonderful exhibits, I don't think you could see everything properly if you visited every day for a year. My favourite galleries were the iron work and the modern glass. It is frankly awesome that admission is free. A couple of minor niggles; the galleries are a bit of a maze, so it is not easy finding your way around, secondly the cafe is about as expensive as anywhere I have ever eaten - £5.90 for a scone, anyone?!

The V&A is an amazing place to visit; although I always feel a little lost in there. It’s enormous and just packed full of stunning displays, collections and exhibitions. We were hoping to see the theatre collection but at the time of visiting the area had been closed because of low temperatures. Instead we explored other sections including some of the jewellery, silverware, stained glass and tapestry. The V&A is definitely somewhere that you could visit multiple times and still have more to see. There’s a really lovely atmosphere in the museum and the ground floor where you will see many people sketching us always packed. My recommendation would be to go up a couple of levels where there are fewer visitors and then you can soak up the atmosphere and really enjoy your surroundings.

The best artistic museum in London, the curating of the art pieces the organization of different divisions making the visit so immersive and exciting. I recommend plan your visit time to be at least 2-3 hours, that’s the minimum time you need for a decent look at those gorgeous treasures left over from the history.

The main reason why I visited the museum is to see the Gabrielle Chanel Fashion Manifesto exhibition which is now fully sold out. It is excellent and well curated. Many of her iconic coats and dresses are on display as well as her cosmetic range. The exhibition is not free but for Chanel fans it’s worth a visit. One also gets to see the history behind her creations. Two hours needed. I also visited the sculpture section seeing the works of Rodin. It’s nice. As for the very much raved about cafe, I find it so so. True that the high ceiling is beautiful with great art work, the service of the cafe crew begs improvement. I find ordering a bit confusing too. But the place is beautiful and given that the museum is free except for special exhibitions, it’s worth a visit.

This is a huge museum. According to the person on our mini guided tour, if you walked the whole museum, you would have walked 7 miles. One doesn't have to pay to enter. There are some special exhibits that you pay to see, but the main area is free. We were there for almost 3 hours and only got to see a part of the first floor. I would recommend this museum. But give yourself plenty of time (or go back again) if you want to see it all. We ended the day with a snack at the Cafe. This was packed but I enjoyed a prawn roll and a salad, with a cup of tea. Not inexpensive, but it tasted good.

Closer to Natural History Museum. It's FREE and an amazing place to visit once. Jewellery history, the cast workshop, iron and silver collection are amazing. I spent more than three hours without any hiccups and the overall time went well with lots of new things to see and learn. It's a great museum for art lovers and also the option to visit a variety of paid exhibitions.

The Victoria and Albert Museum (often abbreviated as the V&A) in London is the world's largest museum of applied and decorative arts and design, as well as sculpture, housing a permanent collection of over 2.27 million objects. It was founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. "V&A" redirects here. For the Canadian television show, see Video & Arcade Top 10. The V&A is located in the Brompton district of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in an area that has become known as "Albertopolis" because of its association with Prince Albert, the Albert Memorial and the major cultural institutions with which he was associated. These include the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Royal Albert Hall and Imperial College London. The museum is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. As with other national British museums, entrance is free. The V&A covers 12.5 acres (5.1 ha) and 145 galleries. Its collection spans 5,000 years of art, from ancient times to the present day, from the cultures of Europe, North America, Asia and North Africa. However, the art of antiquity in most areas is not collected. The holdings of ceramics, glass, textiles, costumes, silver, ironwork, jewellery, furniture, medieval objects, sculpture, prints and printmaking, drawings and photographs are among the largest and most comprehensive in the world. The museum owns the world's largest collection of post-classical sculpture, with the holdings of Italian Renaissance items being the largest outside Italy. The departments of Asia include art from South Asia, China, Japan, Korea and the Islamic world. The East Asian collections are among the best in Europe, with particular strengths in ceramics and metalwork, while the Islamic collection is amongst the largest in the Western world. Overall, it is one of the largest museums in the world. Since 2001, the museum has embarked on a major £150m renovation programme. New 17th- and 18th-century European galleries were opened on 9 December 2015. These restored the original Aston Webb interiors and host the European collections 1600–1815. The V&A Museum of Childhood in East London is a branch of the museum, and a new branch in London is being planned. The first V&A museum outside London, V&A Dundee opened on 15 September 2018. An excellent Saturday afternoon spent at the V and A museum. We booked free tickets about a week in advance for the museum. On arrival the reception and checking in process by the staff were both speedy and efficient. QR codes were used for both the entrance as well as to download the map of the museum. I would certainly recommend both the fashion exhibition as well as section which consists of casts of some very well known large sculpture pieces such as Michaelangelo's David and Trajan's columns, as well as numerous effigies of English Nobility from the late middle ages. Other exhibits we viewed included a section on Religious items which included both numerous stained glass and Chalices, Crosses, Patens and Reliques and other religious items. We spent an enjoyable and informative 3 hours touring the museum. We also visited the museum cafe situated in the courtyard on the ground floor. Although the offerings were limited it was certainly nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a hot cup of coffee while taking a short break from all the exhibits. We shall certainly be returning in the near future to view the rest of the exhibits that time did not allow us to see, first among which is the Jewelry exhibition which was extremely busy when we tried to visit.

It is a very informative place. It has huge collection of data on Gandhiji. The collection starts from his early age untill his demise. It also has some technological advancements that you can enjoy like the recreation of Gandhiji's heart beat and Gandhiji's address to the nation through the telephone. One of the many attractions related to Gandhiji is the huge collection of Charkhas. A mesmerising place indeed.

The National Gandhi Museum and Library as the name suggests is both a museum and a library, the former dedicated to the great father of the nation of India, the latter mostly a library, but with an emphasis on Gandhi. The museum chronicles the life and times of Gandhi through exhibits, photographs and paintings. If you want to know about the achievements of the great many, this museum is one of the best places to do that.

This is really an amazing Museum, only meant to spend a few hours in here, but ended up doing 4, there's just so much to see and read about. It is not just a design museum, the Cast Court was amazing where the Victorians had Casts made of all the significant sites around the world and then reproduced them in a specially made court.

A large scale historian museum figuring their 15th century collections of heritages through their experience around the world. It's a free entry museum with no additional costs but they do organize special events and exhibitions which does cost money to get in. A wonderful place to visit for all age. Recommended to all historian and artists lovers! Food and gift shops available if needed. Social distancing and face masks aren't required but it is a choice for you decide whether you want to or not. Hand sanitisers and toilets are available throughout the museum. P.S. V&A has changed their main entrance to the left side of the building for entry where staff will welcome you and direct you to the entrance.

The most Wonderful Museum ever, i went there twice for at least several hours each time and it was not enough time. Be prepared to be amazed, and get ready to walk about for hours whenever you can take a break at one of the 3 tea saloons. They are beautiful and the tea goes perfect with some scones or muffins. As a recommendation start from at ground 0 and walk your way up. Trust me when i tell you, you'll be pleasantly amazed about the different galleries and abundance of displays. From underwater until the space, everything is in this museum. So take your sweet time, enjoy and be wondered at every step. Check the jewerls gallery and the gold ans silver galleries, my favorites

I Attended a rather spectacular Faberge event here, which was truly remarkable. The food, the ambiance, the historical building including the Faberge event set up, made for an outstanding evening, that I will not forget. Although this is renowned for being a museum. I have been here on several occasions for luxury brand events, each one better then the last. Worth the visit if in London, the building is full of historical wonders. Should you attend an event, you are in for a treat. The V and A have a keen eye for detail alongside superior knowledgeable staff… what a remarkable museum! Simply amazing.

If you are in London and like beautiful things this is the place for you. Everything from ancient mosaics to Victorian teacups is here in this huge and beautiful museum. Paintings, sculpture, ceramics, clothing and other categories to numerous to mention, from around the world: it is all at the V&A. All amenities including a nice cafe are on site. Spectacular! Cannot say enough about this amazing place. While we didn't do either of the paid exhibits, there is an overwhelming amount of things open to the public, you could easily spend days here. The cast collection in particular is jaw-dropping. I was a little skeptical about the museum since I'm not a huge art lover but I really enjoyed our visit and we spent several hours here. The building was like a maze - there were so many different sections to explore!! It had a lovely garden and water feature in the courtyard in the middle that children can play in during hot weather. The gift shop was nice and not as expensive as I thought it would be (they apply student discount too!) I'm very glad I visited and would love to go back to see the bits I didn't manage to see this time

We included this museum to our plans as a secondary stop in the first place, but then we saw that it is a very underrated place! We actually spent more time and interest in this place than the British Museum. It has such a wide range of pieces from all over the world and the design of the museum is so good that you do not want to miss anything. Moreover, it is not crowded like other museums so you get more chances to see everything at your pace and longer. Also, you do not have to reserve your tickets and it's free, you just enter through through the door and you are in. Definitely and absolutely a must-visit.

I come back to the V&A again and again because of its stellar special exhibits and incredible permanent collections. On this trip I was really knocked out by the Gabrielle Chanel and Diva shows, both really thoughtfully curated. The museum houses fine art but where it really stands out is in its celebration of design and performance. I can spend whole days in the silver and jewelry galleries, the ceramics gallery is astounding in its expansiveness. The cafe is nice and the gift shop always has lots of wonderful things. My top tip is to join as a member. It gets you free access to all the special exhibits with no standing in long lines as well as access to the wonderful members only dining room and 10% off purchases in the gift shops. You also get a gorgeous quarterly magazine which lets you keep up with what's on and what's upcoming.

Can't recommend highly enough! There is something for everyone here and it's all beautifully and informatively presented. I went to the Diva exhibition which was brilliant, such a variety of pieces and fascinating to see the history and progression of the Diva. Facilities were immaculate, toilets decked out in marble, terrazzo tiles and stainless steel. Courtyard area was a lovely surprise. We sat around the edges of the water display and the cafe food was pleasant. I've been many times before and I will definitely be back again. Planning on introducing my son to the V&A! And best of all its free!

I love this museum, it's been a few years since my last visit. I looked around the jewellery display and the stained glass. Followed by coffee and passion fruit tart in the café, ending with a look around the gift shop. The building itself is beautiful and there's a great selection in the shop. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do anything else I would have liked to look around the Egyptian display. Well worth a visit.

One of the best things about the V&A museum is that there is very seldom a long queue to get in! Make sure you have plenty of time as there is LOTS to see! Besides the spectacular building itself there are amazing life size reproductions of some of the most famous statues and places from around the world.

  • 5/5 Stu H. 4 years ago on Google
You will never ‘do’ all the V&A in one trip, in fact with everything going on here, and the regular special exhibitions, you can never see all of the V&A, so there is always something to come back for each visit. A wealth of exhibition spaces, varied objects from many periods and places.you can sit sounds in good weather and take a break. If I had to pick fault the food offerings could be improved with better value for money - but that’s like most of the museums around this area. Luckily there are plenty of good places around so plan your visit and eat before/after your visit. I hope you enjoy the V&A as much as I do.

During the reign of King Charles II, a decree was issued, which ordered that there must be six crows permanently in the place called Tower of London. According to legend: "if the crows from the Tower of London fly away or die, the crown will fall, and with it Britain." According to this legend, the tower is currently guarded not by 6, but by 7 crows. These birds not only guard the tower, but also the royal jewels located there, among which there is a 530-carat Cullinan I diamond (Great Star of Africa), which decorates the British royal scepter. The Tower of London crows have their wings cut off, so they can't fly. After all, they have really good care - fed with fresh fruit, cheese, boiled eggs and fresh meat and vitamins. The ravens take care of Ravenmaster and their health is closely monitored. The birds are usually calm, but there were cases where they gave off to smoke - a crow named George had to leave the Tower, because he attacked and destroyed television antennas. Another raven named Grog, after 21 years escaped from the tower and was last seen ... in a nearby pub.

Here in February 2019 there was a temporary exhibition: Fashion of Dior dresses - paid, but the other huge exhibition halls we visited half a day, without rush. Next to it is the Museum of Technology. Enough for a day trip around London. This is one of the best museums I have seen by far! - Beauty of the architecture on the exterior. The queue is very long but it moves really fast so I didn't felt like it was a long wait. I am not sure now with the queuing system with the covid19 as I was there in 2017! There are intensive galleries to view from Rocco period and other different ethnic, cultural and religion history galleries. I came for the fashion history and its beyond beautiful and informative on History of Fashion. I would visit again if there is a chance! - not to miss in London

Obviously it is well worth a visit. However, you now have to book a time slot and it shuts at 3pm. Not all floors are open. Quite why it now shuts so early, I have no idea. Loads of underemployed staff standing around. Frankly, I found all the "covid safe" measures detracted from my enjoyment. Seems they read the guidelines and gilded them.

Probably my favourite London museum. Lots of fascinating and surprising stories in the artifact descriptions -- well worth taking your time to read. The Cast Courts blew me away; the sheer scale of the casts is phenomenal. I was also delighted to see so many Rodin works in their sculpture collection. If you're an artist, be sure to bring a sketchbook -- there are folding chairs propped along the walls in the sculpture gallery for you to use.

This is probably my favourite London Museum. You have sculpture, paintings, tapestry, ceramics, fashion, mosaics... if it had to be designed, it's in the V&A They have also adapted to Covid, so you have to pre-book in advance (it's free for the general exhibition) and you might have to queue inside to enter some of the smaller rooms. But in general the rooms are so wide that social distancing is not really am issue here

  • 5/5 Moving Guise A. 3 years ago on Google
I'm a member for a reason, the exhibitions are always a must see, the cafes are a delight and the space is clean and safe, following all rules for Covid19. Would recommend getting a membership for the year plus one guest. It's always a great treat for family and friends visiting London

The best attraction is the huge library which houses thousands of books on the life of Gandhi from across the world as well as thousand others which are indirectly related to him or his philosophy. Books are meant to be read there and are not issued to take home. There is no membership. Bags are not allowed inside the reading room. There is a book store too. Other sections of the museum are devoted to decades old photographs, which can take one back into history. His quotes, speeches, personal belongings besides various statues all around the complex. There is a small canteen too, which serves few options in food, tea and snacks. Operated by a nice family. Complex is maintained well, quite neat and clean. Sufficient water coolers. Toilets are neat and clean too. There is sufficient parking space inside the premises. All in all a great place of importance worth bringing family. Cupid's Canopy brought natural honey in 8 variants including fennel, coriander and lychee during the 2nd October fest.

It's the only historical lake found in southern Tigray around Korem town and it is surrounded by connected mountains and grass land. For your surprise it is very strategic place for making business in hotels and loges.

  • 3/5 engineer n. 6 years ago on Google
Close to lake soil is very soft and contains much water hence one needs special shoes there. distance between railway and lake is long a little bit and cars can't enter because of clay. also camping close to water is very hard because of water, grass and clay also frogs and flies are common. swimming in lake is not recommended by local people and they say that some foreigners disappeared before while swimming :D around lake is good for Barbecue but wind is very strong and firing cool or wood for Barbecue is not easy, traditional Ethiopian cool stoves are effective there. place there is rural and you can find only very small shops in the village fare away from lake so one should get all his needs from home. generally speaking, visiting the lake not a big adventure but it's a good chance to visit calm, open, green place to clear your mind and get some fresh beautiful breath. personally if i would have chance i will go there again but i will go early morning, rest on my back till noon, have Barbecue and leave

The V&A is located in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in an area known as "Albertopolis" because of its association with Prince Albert, the Albert Memorial and the major cultural institutions with which he was associated. These include the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the Royal Albert Hall and Imperial College London. The museum is a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. As with other national British museums, entrance is free. The V&A covers 12.5 acres (5.1 ha)[5] and 145 galleries.

What a fantastic place I have visited 3 rimes and still have not seen it all I will be going back again. It also has a nice cafe. A bit pricey but nice. Also a nice seating area outside. The jewellery section is amazing. Easy booking system online There was a little queue but very organised so not waiting long. Also lots of helpful guides sat all around the museum.

A historic, educational and fun day out in London. Even though the V&A is free to visit, it's worth checking out their upcoming exhibits that you need to pay for. I visited the Epic Iran exhibit in August 2021 and it was incredibly interesting. It's great for kids and there's also a cafe and a small garden in the centre of building.

One of the best museums in London! 100% must see. Amazing courtyard where you can drink your coffee and just relax. Great place with kids for playing in pool, don't forget clothes for kids to change after pool.

Britain has the best museums and once again FREE. Suggested donations of course but you must! Labrynth of rooms and different era and types of treasures to see. Go and see it. We visited the South Asian rooms especially for the Sikh collection. So much colour and interesting detail and knowledge.

Vast museum, houses loads of incredible objects. If you're not into it, can be a bit boring; especially little kids as this is a grown-up museum. Tearoom wonderful, rare sighting of a working coinbox!

Free entry (but please make a donation) to a wonderful Victorian building instigated by Prince Albert. Massive collection - you could easily spend the whole day in this museum - reasonably priced café with seatin inside and outside in the beautiful quadrangle. Handbag exhibition on at the moment for a fee. Great jewellery section and fabulous 18 Rodin sculptures/bronzes. The cast section is impressive - has a cast of Trojan's column! A must visit section of the museum.

Without doubt one of the best museums in the world. Just busting with history. Loved the Cast halls and Jewelry section. Give yourself plenty of time or split over two days as we did.

This museum is my favorite place in London. I was moved so many times and I felt like a woman who lived in the past. The shop has many gorgeous goods so I opened my pocket.

  • 4/5 Susan W. 2 years ago on Google
What an amazing place. Stunning building and great exhibits thoughtfully presented. My favourite sections were fashion and jewellery. Bit disappointed that some sections were closed but the museum is so big there was still too much to see in one visit. The cafe is beautifully located and a great place to rest those 'museum legs' before heading off to explore some more. Shop was huge and I expected to do some serious spending but sadly nothing took my fancy. Only downside was the none existent welcome on arrival plus lack of direction and interaction from staff/docents.

There's such a lot to see, and it's a full day's experience - absolutely worth it! There's a courtyard you can sit and unwind, with places you can get nearby. Loved the time I had there, I plan to go again soon!

  • 5/5 Patricia G. 2 years ago on Google
This, for me, is the most comprehensive, beautiful Museum in the world and has so many diverse and exquisite items displayed in such a glorious way that you would need weeks just to see all of them properly. This visit, I focused on mainly costumes glass jewelry, mosaics, glass ancient artifacts and photographed some from each section. When you go, look up their catagories and plan which ones to visit as you are instantly overwhelmed by all the beauty that assails your eyes that you are liable to stagger around agog! This, on reflection is another good way to see the museum, it's fun and very random! You choose! Don't forget to visit the incredible indoor restaurant, it's so beautiful and the stained glass windows and lighting in this vaulted room will be such a treat, as well as the food! Sit in the outdoor seating area if it's a nice day and enjoy the courtyard water pool, it's very calming to gaze at the pool and the magnificent surrounding buildings. A picture says a thousand words so here are some if my photos.Enjoy!

We thoroughly enjoyed our half-term trip to V&A. The Alice in Wonderland exhibition was pre-booked and so much fun. There was an interactive white rabbit trail for the children, original works, movies to enjoy and really cool lighting effects. We enjoyed a bit of sunshine in the stunning courtyard with our lunch. Great day out!

  • 5/5 Gonzalo Ferreiro V. 2 years ago on Google
The Alice in Wonderland exhibition is really amazing. Bookings have been full for a while so we had to book two months in advance I reckon, but the exhibition was worth it. The way it tells the story first and then how it has been used across formats and countries for different subjects and topics is amazing and incredibly informative.

You will probably come here as an alternative to the science museum but let me tell you, the exhibitions and collections will not disappoint. The food is at another level all together, thinking we would get a dry sandwich and being blown away was truly nice. Easily accessible for prams and wheelchairs and to be enjoyed by old and young alike.

One of London’s finest museums with a permanent collection and amazing seasonal exhibitions. The building is just stunning and each one of the ballrooms is more beautiful than the other. The courtyard is a great place to chill and soak up some sun on a beautiful day

  • 5/5 PK 2 years ago on Google
Please prebook it online. It is free and reach around time. Staff are amicable. There are lot of things to see, ponder and enjoy. Sculpture, art, fashion, medieval, to name a few. There is a garden, plenty of places to sit and most of the floor has toilet facilities.

  • 4/5 Ariel S. 2 years ago on Google
I found the museum to be a bit of a bore. The sculpture exhibit was beautiful, but the fashion part was very mediocre and quite run of the mill. I expected much more from such a famous museum that is so well known for this. Maybe this was just us, but I booked entry tickets ahead of time and when we came in there was no one to check. Could have saved the trouble of ordering tickets 😂 Lastly, Cafe is very over crowded. Could definitely use more staff during rush hour

To the V&A to see the 'Alice In Wonderland' Exhibition. I adore the V&A, it is one of my favourite spaces in London. Although the AIW exhibition has an additional cost, it is perfectly possible to spend a day here for free, there is lots to see without spending any cash. The building itself is glorious, there is not many better ways to spend an afternoon than enjoying a coffee in the courtyard on a sunny day. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, there is a gorgeous tearoom selling an array of hot drinks and (pricey) homebakes. If you are visiting London, do try and put this place on your list :)

I enjoyed this museum a lot more than I thought I would. There is some amazing architecture on display - one that stood out above the rest is an ancient Roman column that's size and detail is hard to comprehend. There is an pretty cool display of old locks and keys, and the display of ancient jewelry is also worth checking out.

  • 5/5 Chloe O. 2 years ago on Google
Pretty much all museums get 5 stars from me, especially ones in London as so many of them are totally free. But the architecture section on the third floor sealed the deal. I only made it through 20%? of the collection in four-ish hours, so you'll need a good few days but it's free! So visit as often as you need to. And the interactive elements of this museum set it apart. All the quizzes and little activities keep things fresh and really help all the info sink in more. Soooo worth multiple visits honestly.

The Victoria & Albert is probably the best museum of whole London. It's collection presents all different forms of arts and design in a beautiful way, and allows to have a view of all the craftsmanship thought-out the history. The museum is very close to the South Kensington station and to the Science museum, is so easy to visit, other reason to go visit!

  • 5/5 Kris W. 2 years ago on Google
This museum is an absolute gem! I would return to London to spend many more hours here. There’s definitely more to see than I had time for, but I truly enjoyed everything I saw including the Roman sculptures, fashion, jewelry, John Constable landscapes, Rafael cartoons, and stained glass. And the café is phenomenal, as many people mentioned. The food was incredible, with many options, teas and coffee. I thought it was really interesting that my sister went to the Natural History Museum next-door, which she said was incredible, but also very crowded with lots of groups of school kids. She said that made the Natural History Museum noisy and a bit chaotic, so if you want a more adult experience, the Victoria & Albert museum is a great choice!

  • 4/5 Dan 1 year ago on Google
Better for adults than children. A great free museum for adults to expand your knowledge & feed your curiosity with activities for children including hands on ceramics (advanced booking) interactive theatre displays with dress-up, Capability Brown tours and so much more! The cafes feel special too albeit only Benugo - live piano music inside and sitting in the central courtyard is wonderful on a nice day (with a paddle in the fountain!) Sadly one of the security guards was so harsh in manner towards my nephew when he reached out to touch a (well touched) bronze lion he will no longer to go to the V&A

  • 5/5 Richard D. 1 year ago on Google
A great place to visit for all the family. There are various exhibitions to entertain and really wonderful to see a dance session which children could take part in, without a booking. The museum has numerous galleries from famous gowns to modern creations (like Harry Styles cardigan) to paintings from different eras. Their copies of originals such as that of Michelangelo's David are impressive to say the least. Well worth the visit especially with the family as some of the objects can be interacted with-try tying a caveat or creating your own monogram.

Favourite museum from far. A must-visit if you are like me and like to explore and get lost in museum. It’s stunning and you never have enough time to see everything! I usually stay for a full day as you can eat nicely inside. If you can try to go during week days otherwise it gets pretty busy

As a connoisseur of museums I found that this particular museum is one of the best I have ever come across. It has organized all its pieces very carefully and is a pleasant walk-through. I highly recommend this museum above the others.

A lovely museum with so much to see and learn! I particularly enjoyed the jewels, the British humour section, old furniture and the Japanese section. We paused in the cafeteria for coffee and to listen to the piano played by one of the visitors (inside). On a sunny day I also recommended sitting in the garden where you can admire the lovely design and colours of the building plus children splashing in the paddling pool. Plenty of lifts (some concealed) and benches to sit on. Definitely a whole day visit plus a good choice of special exhibitions.

One of the best museums you can come across in London. By housing the journey of fashion, arts and culture through the lens of anthropology and societal relevance, this museum is a great place for a day trip or a nerdy date. Couple it along with a walk to Chelsea and it would be a memorable day out.

  • 5/5 Tigershout 9 months ago on Google
One of the best London museums. Gorgeous interiors, excellent array of history for free and usually good exhibitions. They excel better at the free, permanent collection as I find their exhibitions are sometimes a bit disorganised and sparse. Kid friendly, adult friendly, excellent museum day out for a couple of hours.

We were absolutely thrilled with our visit to V&A museum, never knew the incredible size and variety of collections displayed there. Simply amazing. My small granddaughter participated in an adventure hunt of sorts, enjoyed that very much. We visited on a weekday, and felt the museum was not crowded at all, in some rooms we were alone. There were lots of benches for visitors to sit and rest their tired feet, much appreciated by us. We will definitely return again to continue exploring the many interesting galleries there. In case of inclement weather, the museum is also accessible through an underground tunnel directly from the metro.

Incredible FREE museum. The Courtyard in the middle has a little pool where children were splashing around. Lots of tables to relax and enjoy a peaceful afternoon. The jewelry collection, the room of plaster castings…Go and explore, too much to see it all so just look at what you like! Or go back several times.

  • 5/5 Trish S. 8 months ago on Google
Not only does this museum have amazing art collections, it has an amazing courtyard with a large puddle pool for the kids to run through to cool off & decompress. Surrounding the pool is grassy steps & the cafe so parents can take a great break. I can’t say enough about this museum.

  • 5/5 Ekaterina R. 8 months ago on Google
From souvenir shops to the stained glass collection, from the garden and to the cafe: it is a place to get lost in the best sense of it. Fridays are fascinating, with live music sessions in the cafe and extended working hours (until 10pm) to walk around the galleries in the evening light. The stuff is friendly. It’s possible to borrow (free of charge) a foldable chair to make the walk even more comfortable. Sketching respectfully is encouraged

First time visitor. Solo traveler. Recommendation: No children or minors unless they have an unusual affinity/appreciation for the arts. The ones I saw in there looked bored. Additionally, plan hours or days. The place is huge with multiple exhibits. Naturally everyone has favorites. But to appreciate the breadth of the museums catalog, one needs to plan multiple hours or visits.

This place is huge and I saw only a tiny amount of it. Will dedicate a whole day next time and do more research about what's to see! I went this occasion specifically for the theatre exhibition and Beatrix Potter exhibition. The garden cafe area was wonderful to regroup and the shop was lovely. Amazing that these wonderful museums are free. Only disappointment was the connection to the Sackler family money.

  • 4/5 Thibaud V. 6 months ago on Google
Beautiful museum. The rooms are jam-packed, which is both a great advantage and disadvantage. Since there are so many objects placed into the rooms, it is difficult to see where to start. David and Trajan's Column are two examples of the treasures that can be found here. To add, not only the art collection is a sight to behold, but also the building itself is worth checking out. Since the museum is free of charge, it is definitely a must see on your London trip.

Hands down the most amazing collection of art and design I have seen. It's worth every second of the four hours spent there, and I can't wait to go back! Take a look at the exhibit map before you start, focus on a few areas, and plan for more than one trip! Also, grab lunch or tea in the cafe or out in the garden cafe. The food was delicious too!

Love the V&A, A great place to wonder around and be amazed at every turn. Went into the Diva exhibit which was fantastic to see so many costumes worn over the decades by fantastic performers and actresses. I didn't take the free headset and maybe missed out on something but thoroughly enjoyed it anyway. Main issue was cost of food, portion size and lack of Gluten Free options to eat, very limited range and generally lumped in with Vegan options, STOP BEING LAZY, my diet is medical not elective, it's restricted enough with out you restricting it further because your trying to either Please Vegans and or make it easier for yourself.

I’ve lived a few minutes from here for almost 2 years and now that I’ve moved away, I was finally able to visit this amazing museum. It will take at least a full day to put a dent on exploring this wonderful space. Also, if you go to the members’ cafe in the middle of the day, be prepared to wait a very long time. I much preferred the V&A to the natural history museum. I can’t wait to return to really dive in to all the amazing rooms it has to offer.

Really nice museum, in my opinion much better than the British Museum! I really enjoyed the layout, it made a lot of sense and I could choose where I want to go based on my interests much easier. Super cool exhibitions! There were some incredible rooms that left me speechless. I also checked out the Digital Design Weekend, which was a truly amazing experience. If you have a chance to visit this museum, I strongly recommend checking out the special exhibitions available. It was also not that crowded for a September weekend, which was a pleasant surprise. Totally recommend!

Starting out on the new Elizabeth line, we whipped across East to West London. Accessing the museum was easy a few feet from the South Kensington tube. As you go in, donations are requested, and maps are offered. The exhibitions are well laid out, and the museum map offers a route around, and there are hours of exhibits to pique your interest. The cafe is very expensive even for London prices £2.55 for a small water is unacceptable. But the tea room is a wonderful room, worth a look. There are lectures and guides available. The museum offers a £5 audio guide, so beware expensive fake guides!! We spotted a few. The trip was wonderful and we will return with a better agenda and more time. Maybe to take a sketch as well, which we saw a lot of artists doing there.

The museum has an impressive collection of sculptures from around the world. There's a decent selection of work by Rodin. There's also work by other British artists. I also liked sculptures from Asia with the Buddhism theme. There's also an exhibition on the 2nd floor on the designs of everyday life objects, which is quite up-to-date and worth a look. I didn't have time to visit the entire museum. Since the entry is free, I'll go back in the future.

The museum facade is a classic Victorian building. We entered from Exhibition Road on a showery day. The courtyard was extremely slippery - a huge negative. It has extensive collections that are free to visit- a huge positive. The size of the museum is so enormous I suggest picking out one or two areas of emphasis. As a result of watching the Netflix series “Blown Away” we are huge fans of contemporary blown glass. The museum has some beautiful pieces in Room 231 on the third floor, which you can see in the photos, Navigating the museum is an art. There is an interesting display of famous ancient monuments which have been cast and a good display of Buddhist art. There is a ton of other stuff to see. In summary a very eclectic museum with very old fashioned displays.

A fantastic day out. Entry is free but some additional exhibitions are chargeable and sometimes tickets are available when you are there, but best to book in advance. There are plenty of galleries to wander around. The cast court is my favourite. The items in here are huge. The cafes are popular and expensive but worth it just for the atmosphere. When in this part of London, visit the Science or National History Museums to pad out the whole day. I have been coming here for 40 years or so and see something new every time.

This museum is simply amazing! Free to the public -great exhibits. More of an “adult” museum since it is not geared toward children & they would probably be bored. My husband and I loved it -the place is so large with many smaller rooms that is like a maze. We started on the 3rd floor (took the elevator) and worked our way down to the lower levels.
