We visited on Saturday afternoon, quiet but reserved signs on most tables. Waited nearly an hour for our food. Yes, an hour! When our food arrived, mine was luke warm chicken which wasn't the best. Afterwards, we had to find someone to ask about our 8 year old sons ice cream. That was another 20 minute wait for just one scoop. Poor, poor service, waste of money and very disappointed. Never again. ** I did email them but no response as yet.

Food was inedible chips were stone cold couldn't chew the gammon and the chicken on the underside unable to cut it I've had softer leather on my shoes if I still had a dog I wouldn't have fed this to him

Ordered a mix grill on a Friday night , no steak.. quite disappointing however for the full mix grill we were charged for small plate, hot sauce wasn't charged for. Very kind. Atmosphere not great as it was the weekend of a month's worth of rain so it couldn't be helped. You pay for what you get . Fills a hole on a less of a budget.

Reasonably priced and generous portions. My husbands burger was deemed excellent (high praise indeed) and my chicken parmigiana with jacket potato and salad was delicious. All cooked to perfection and will definitely visit again.

We came in with a large group. Food was served quickly and efficiently. Tasted great too. I was impressed how quickly they got the meals to us. Thanks. We had a lovely time

The Cuckoo oak, has good food You need to book a table at weekends. On our last visit, after booking, we were told there was over an hour to wait for food I feel this is too long to wait as on a previous visit we did wait, By the time the food was received it was not hot. I feel the staff are under tremendous pressure as there are not enough of them to deal with orders at the counter and serve customers requiring drinks only as long queues there also.

We have gone to the Cuckoo Oak many times without any complaints but tonight we went with all the family for a meal which was booked days ago and was told the kitchens were closed due to having a new floor down. They said all the people had been notified by phone but I can assure you nobody let me know. They had contacted the Bridge Builder to see if our party could go there and we went but were not very pleased with this place. We had a meal which was ok but it was a real let down as the reason we were having a meal was because our grandson was going back to NZ tomorrow and we wouldn't see him again for years. We made the best of it but it has put us off going again.
