The hotel looks very good from the outside, lots of greenery and tidy parking, but our room was gloomy, there was no bathtub in the bathroom and hand soap was broken, no - body cream, no bathrobe or slippers for the pool. There was no bar, at least for a bottle of water in the room . The heating is turned on in the evening when people are sleeping and suffocating, and at other times it is cold. The pool and Jacuzzi smelled of disinfectants. There is given 1 towel per person. Showers are under criticism. The food in the restaurant - what we ordered was beef burger and fish for the day, both were not good as the fish had more breading than meat. The internet was a very bad signal - only in the reception area it was good - nowhere else. Breakfast was not up to par either. During this stay I liked the barman's cocktails and the lobby, which is very soothing with the pleasant tones of blue. Also air and nature. I have been visiting friends in Monaghan for many years, but I have never been to this hotel. We will return to the city, but in this hotel - hardly.

The hotel is fine, I know because of Covid I haven't been in an Irish Hotel for awhile but if that is what is ranked as a 4 star then the standards have dropped. Do not eat there, go into The Haven in town for a lovely dinner at a great price. Will not be recommending the hotel to my friends..

Great hotel to stay in when you come to Monaghan Town. The staff are very friendly and they always have a smile. The disco is called Club Mex, but I am not sure is it still opened. The beer is excellent and so is the food. So please come back to Monaghan Town.😎

Absolutely stunning location and super friendly staff! I think it was Nicole(?) at reception who really made our stay incredible! We arrived super early, super tired after coming directly from the airport and as there was a room available early, we were able to check in at 11am! We had dinner at the restaurant on our final night and it was delicious! Definitely recommend the stir fry! No complaints!!!!!!

We had lunch here which was enjoyable. We received table service from an unfriendly lady named Orla which was very disappointing. We have been eating in this hotel for years but obviously there has been a change of staff; the previous staff were very friendly and accomodating and we always quality customer care.

We were just there for one evening, the hotel setting is beautiful, well manicured gardens, interior classy, beautiful large well designed bedroom with everything you will need, the evening meal was excellent, table beautifully set with great attention to detail, staff were very pleasant and attentive, had a wonderful nights sleep followed by a lovely breakfast, once again the staff were pleasant and attentive, I'd happily have stayed longer and I certainly want to return.

Rooms are a bit tired. Breakfast could be organised better. Took a while to check-in as the receptionist was on a call.

Food was OK though hot dishes were barely lukewarm. Staff is friendly but service slow for kids' meals which arrived when adults had largely finished their mains.

Attended a winter wedding here. Outstanding venue, excellent food and prompt service. Felt somewhat sorry for the smokers and vapers present though as the hotel fails to meet their needs by providing even basic protection from the elements.

We spent 4 nights there the room and beds were very comfortable. The pool was lovely and had a really good swim. The staff were very helpful. We had only 1 issue, which was dealt with very quickly. Would definitely visit again.

From the lack of a thermostat in the room, to the, at best, bland dinner (Curry), my stay here was unpleasant. The room was extremely warm upon entering and after searching every wall and surface, we were unable to locate a thermostat. We opened 2 small windows to get some cooler air in. We dined in the restaurant and I was totally not impressed with the food. Curry is supposed to have some spice, this one was bland. The spuds were greasy and the Salmon was just about average. The entrance is very inconvenient if you are carrying a large amount of bags as there are stairs to enter the building followed by stairs to the lobby. The shower is very claustrophobic. If you are larger than average human or have broad shoulders, it will be a snug fit. The bed was 2 twin mattresses pushed together to create a king. The mattresses themselves were quite uncomfortable. Between the heat and the mattresses it was very difficult to fall asleep. Once asleep I was awoken by loud voices in the hallway that went right through the thin walls. Bottom line, I regret staying here. In all my travels, I consider this the third worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The 1st being an Extended Stay America in Pennsylvania. On this trip we stayed in one B and B and 4 other hotels as we traveled Ireland. This was the worst one of them all. The only good part was it's location as were visiting family in Monaghan and it was right outside the city center.

Went to this lovely place in monaghan. Beautiful garden's. Room was perfect. Sat in for a meal, sharing platter was delicious. Main course was so disappointing. Presentation was class but Curry was not what it said, and you would need a chainsaw to cut trough the chicken it was so over cooked. Although After i enjoyed a few pints on the terrace listening to good music.

Came with great anticipation… but with greatest disappointment. We were so hungry and hoping our dinner would be great.. but menu said “ Malaysian Curry Chicken” as I m from Singapore and I myself is a owner chef. When I was served.. looking at the color I knew instantly is going to be a disaster. To my instinct is it !! The taste is so sweet and none came close to Malaysia Curry…. Staffs are friends and patience but it will not compensate the food authenticity or tasty… how can the chef even dare to state “Malaysian Curry Chicken” ?? Good luck and pls brush up your knowledge in food…. Don’t do that to your anticipate guests staying in your hotel.

Not a 4 star hotel. Went for a cocktail reception, bar staff didn't know how to make or didn't have the ingredients for most cocktails. Would help to have a menu of what you can do. Roof was leaking and the blonde barmaid had an attitude not meant for customer service.

We always stop by Four Seasons for a meal or a snack whenever we drive between Dublin and Letterkenny. It provides a wonderful midway break. There is always warm hospitality, good food, and comfortable settings. For more than 20 years, the excellent service has never waned.

Hotel looks better outside than inside. Room is old. It hasn't even elementary water. Fridge isn't exist in room. I buy staying in hotel with dinner. Dinner isn't delicious, breakfast is the same. Experience isn't good for this money.

Four of us attended the Gerry Guthri dance on Sunday 5th Feb.We attempted to get to four chairs at a table but they were so tight together we couldnt get in or out. We eventually got seats close to the toilets . We didnt realise we were so close to the smoking area which meant the door was open on a frosty, February night for most of the night. Also ladies toilets overflowing, freezing cold in them , & no soap in dispensers.

A great place to stay. I haven’t tried the leisure facilities, but the rooms and bar / restaurant are excellent. Staff are very friendly and hotel is close enough to walk in to town.

Lovely hotel in Monaghan! We only had lattes and scones on this visit but all delicious! Very comfortable surroundings, good parking, friendly staff and spotless bathrooms... what more could you ask for!

Staff were lovely, really helpful and friendly. Food was unreal, I had the salmon for dinner and a fry for breakfast and it was fab. Room nice and clean and had a TV, a kettle & WiFi. Shower was super powerful and could get good and hot too. The building itself was comfortably warm too. I didn't have time to check out the pool etc but will definitely be back!

Warm welcome on arrival. The room was warm, bed and sleep was very comfortable. The bathroom had great shower. Breakfast was extremely disappointing, I am sorry to say. I find it dismal to have breakfast served in the bar and not in the dining room. Having breakfast service from a bar counter is not appetising. Lots of free tables but the server sat everyone in close proximity. This, I found was uncomfortable. The food we initially ordered was unavailable. We settled for mushroom on toast and porridge. The porridge was just adequate and basic. The mushrooms looked tinned, anaemic and inedible. Tea tasted awful. Breakfast really let the stay down. It was such a let down and such a dismal experience that we just gave up. I generally look forward to a relaxing breakfast as part of a hotel stay.

Our favourite place to eat pre COVID . We got take aways and ate outside from a limited menu during lock down. Had a late lunch here today, Tuesday as it was fairly quiet and I had vunerable people with me. It was great to be back and the menu is back to normal. We had chilli with rice , a marinaded chicken sandwich and a perfectly sized small portion of cod and haddock in wine sauce all from the specials menu. All top quality and very tasty. Great variety of choice . Best place to break for a decent meal on the Dublin/Letterkenny route. They have an EV charge point too. Couldn't recommend it enough. Lovely atmosphere and always decorated for the season. Pumkins everywhere today.

The staff are the greatest asset in this hotel. They are so friendly and helpful, and many other hotels could learn so much from the standard of customer service you receive at the 4 Seasons. Special mention to the waitress from Brazil and also the barman, the big lad with the beard who were both exceptional. The food is also first class, from breakfast to afternoon tea to dinner, we tried them all and were not disappointed. The family room/suite was excellent with 2 rooms, so we didn't feel crushed like you so often feel in other hotel 'family rooms' which are just the normal room with an extra sofa bed! The building is spotlessly clean and in a great location. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is I think the changing and shower facilities in the leisure club badly needs upgraded. They are in poor repair and even although the staff do the best by keeping them clean and repairing repairs etc, what is needed is a complete upgrade just like what was done in the sister hotel in Carlingford.

Came here for a wedding, dinner, and dancing and was not disappointed. Walking up the gravel path with the beautiful flower arrangement on the exterior, we joined the wedding in the event hall, then moved to the bar/sitting area for drinks directly following the wedding, then to the dining hall for dinner and dancing. Lovely property and very friendly staff.

To be honest I was expecting more from a hotel that boasts the name four seasons and 4 stars. This is more a 3 star hotel. Needs upgrading while staff where friendly and helpful. The food was not 4 star either.

Food was good .....but I arrived too late for lunch but too early for my preferred dinner time .....I was travelling and really fancied a soup n sandwich combo or a club sandwich......neither were on the menu and I was told they weren't available.....I totally understand but can a sandwich REALLY not be made especially as it wasn't busy??? I had the burger on menu it was lovely but not what I wanted. Waitress was v attentive

👍👍 Very handy after a walk in Rossmore Forest Park. Permanent coffee stand, with light fare. Needs a real espresso machine, but the coffee from computer screen is descent. Very friendly.
