Well worth the visit. There's lots of information and historical objects from across Monaghan to see in the museum. I found the War of Independence exhibition particularly interesting with detailed information related to the county from that time period. Also it's free to enter so I'd certainly recommend paying a visit there.

Very well put-together museum over a few small floors. Covers the Stone Age Celts right up to the present day with a special section near the end on the tension in Northern Ireland. Tons of great artifacts to view and history to learn. Clean and also has video displays.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The museum is sensibly laid out (starting with early settlers and ending with the Irish War of Independence). Good for killing an hour or so on a wet Saturday in November!
