5/5 David M. 2 years ago on Google
I've
lived
in
Coatbridge
for
five
years
and
only
just
found
out
about
this
place
the
other
day.
It
is
tucked
away
off
the
main
drag
so
I
never
knew
it
existed
and
it
doesn't
come
up
on
Google
when
you're
searching
for
restaurants
in
the
area!.
It
was
recommended
by
a
friend
from
Edinburgh.
I've
been
looking
for
a
nice
place
to
eat
around
here
for
ages
and
it
looks
like
I've
finally
found
one!
Until
now,
there's
been
nowhere
that
genuinely
nice
to
eat
near
me.
As
soon
as
you
sit
down,
you
realise
that
they
are
serious
about
quality.
The
plush
tartan
carpets,
the
open
fire,
nice
lighting,
thin
rimmed
wine
glasses
sparkling
clean
and
pleasant,
well
mannered,
happy
staff.
You'd
swear
you
were
in
Aberdeen.
It
has
the
same
warm,
traditional
Scottish
atmosphere
as
the
five
star
Ardore
Hotel.
Hard
to
believe
you're
in
Coatbridge.
I
ordered
the
green
Thai
curry
and
my
wife
had
the
mac
and
cheese.
To
be
honest
we
were
expecting
your
usual
re-heated,
mass
produced,
supplier
bought-in
slop
but
we
were
very
pleasantly
surprised
to
find
that
there's
a
real
chef
on
board
here!
Both
dishes
were
cooked
from
scratch.
The
prawns
were
fresh
(not
frozen)
and
they
were
lovely
and
soft
jumbo
prawns.
The
sauce
was
well
balanced
with
beautifully
cooked
vegetables
and
a
well
thought
out
garnish.
Even
the
presentation
was
nice!
My
only
critique
was
the
prawn
crackers.
Chef,
if
you
read
this
just
change
the
crackers
from
the
Chinese
to
Thai
version
and
your
curry
would
be
absolutely
nailed!
The
macaroni
in
the
mac
and
cheese
was
soft,
well
cooked
and
perfectly
textured.
The
sauce
was
creamy
and
delicious
with
a
nice
crispy
rim
aroud
the
edge
of
the
oven
cooked
dish.
I'm
not
a
fan
of
mac
and
cheese
personally
but
I
tasted
my
wife's
and
it
was
spot
on.
I'm
glad
that
I've
found
this
place
and
I'll
be
frequenting
it
now
that
I
have.
I
own
a
local,
luxury
B&B
and
my
guests
are
always
asking
for
recommendations
for
dinner.
At
last
I'll
be
able
to
recommend
a
place
with
good
conscience!
The
Georgian
Hotel!
