Visiting Stellenbosch from the UK and my prescription glasses lost a screw so they were in danger of losing the lens. Walking past Mellins and went in for repair. The four lovely ladies did it for free and 5 mins later I could see properly again. Excellent service. If this their normal service then I recommend.

I received excellent and friendly service from Ms. Mihle Njova. She went out of her way to assist me in ordering contact lenses for my daughter which arrived super fast. It has been three weeks and my glasses have still not arrived. The optometrist and ladies at the front were very professional and helpful during the appointment, but urgency (or lack thereof) on the the lab side is not acceptable. I was told a they would take max two weeks to arrive. I called multiple times and was told they'd get back to me but they did not do so. Would not recommend.

Mellins Stellenbosch provided us with excellent service. We received the glasses after only 5 working days! They are caring and passionate about their job. The optometrist goes the extra mile to explain everything and to make you feel comfortable. They gave my friend 20/20 vision with her new glasses, where she previously struggled to see on the board in class a couple of meters in front of her. My mom went for an appointment a month ago, it started at a bad foot with them never writing in the booking even though she made the appointment via the phone a week before. Then after the appointment which almost didn't happen, about 2hours after, they phoned to say they forgot to do another test, can she come back. Not noting that she doesn't live close by and never mind has time and can just come anytime, due to their fault. But because my mom is a sweet person she went back, spent more money on petrol and did the test they forgot. She then paid in full for her glasses (31 March 2022) and off we went. It is now almost a month and she has not heard anything from them and she doesn't even know if after all the other 'faults' that her expensive outing would have been worth it and if the glasses will even be right. This whole experience has been devastating for me to see how people get away with abusing kind people and getting away with it. I will never let my mom go to Mellins again.

Great service. Such friendly staff. A fluroscent test was done that no other optometrist has ever done on my eyes. He went the extra mile to explain the results of my test and definitely has a passion for his job. Would definitely recommend Mellins Stellenbosch branch to anyone who needs to visit an optometrist.

Had a wonderful consultation with Dr Mashishi, its always better when you leave a consultation actually having learnt something about your eye condition. It's clear he is very knowledgeable in this area and has an impeccable bedside manner. Well done Mellins!

Really disappointing service, popped in yesterday to enquire about eye test for learners app and was told to come back today after 15:00 as they were a bit busy. I show up with my son 15:15 and told we had to wait for 40 minutes to be helped. Why not be more clearer and organise properly, people do have lives/work to do!! Both my sons got their glasses there, won't be seeing us again. I do understand it is a courtesy given but I also don't mind paying but a least make clearer appointments.

Very helpful and polite staff. Replaced both of the clear rubber nose pieces on my glasses, free of charge. Service took less than 10 minutes.
