Great Ruins of a temple known for creative architecture from past generation. They have parking available and buggy service available too, buggy is 20rs per head for two way and it will take you near to the main temple. It is fair way for the price. Entrance ticket is 40rs which can be used for lotus mahal as well. We have purchased our ticked at lotus mahal which have been used for entrance here. Main attraction was the stone chariot & musical pillars. The ruins are beautiful architectures , few spots definitely needs restoration in order to save our ancient history. The musical pillars are currently in renovation which is why entry is not permitted inside but can be seen from out. Guides are available on site who can guide you with the history. Definitely a place to visit.

This beautiful place is the ruins of vijayanagar empire which still attracts tourists from across the globe. The place is at a distance of 1km from the main road from where one can take electric cart at Rs 20 pp. The entry ticket into the temple area is Rs 40 pp which can be used to visit other historical places at hampi. One can witness an amazing sunset at the back of the temple. Entry to the musical pillars area is currently restricted. It is better to carry cash as the network coverage is very poor.

Entry is combined with 3 other places with one ticket. Personal vehicles are not allowed, they provide pickup and drop service by electric vehicle, cost is 20rs for both ways. Inside its a huge place, well maintained we get to see few temples and the famous chariot. Only negative is the queue and waiting time for the electric vehicle is very long which is waste of time. We wasted almost 2 hours just by waiting :( so better go early morning or just walk 😅) There are no eateries inside so eat outside and go.

Representing the essence of India's tourism, this place stands as one of the finest. Its beauty captivated us. The entrance fee was a mere 35, applicable to various locations, and there were no additional charges for photography. For a nominal fee of Rs 20, a battery-operated car efficiently transported us from the parking area to the main entrance. Notably, the legendary story of Ramayana unfolds on the walls of this monument, adding a rich cultural dimension. For those with children, hiring a guide at Rs 2500 for the day is advisable. The guide provides detailed insights, allowing kids to enjoy the stories associated with the monument. The iconic Stone Chariot, featured on the Rs 50 note, is a central highlight that shouldn't be missed.

We visited the temple on a public holiday and emhence it was super crowded. There is INR20 cab ride from start point to main temple area. If the weather is good and you can walk, I would advise to do so. Because there are a lot of small ruins in between which you would miss when travelling through buggy. It is sad the buggy do not stop in between to show other amazing stops. It is absolutely worth visiting this place to witness the past.

The only word that comes to my mind after seeing this structure is Brilliance! What a beautiful piece of artwork- every inch of the masterpiece is so amazingly built that words are not enough to describe it. The setting is superb! The carvings on the pillars are fabulous. Hats of to the artisans who created such a beautiful temple!

One of the finest works of the Vijayanagar architecture. Sad the temple is almost in ruins and that one is not allowed to visit the main temple but the complex. But one can enjoy the carvings from the outside. The stone chariot is the star attraction.

Vithala temple was a heavenly and divine experience for us. It was oozing with gratitude and joy while experiencing the beauty of the architecture, workmanship and divine power holding it all together after hundreds of years. We are surely extremely lucky to witness the beauty of this historic monument after these many years of existence. Cherish every moment while you're around, there is much more than the Stone Chariot ( while ofcourse it is the center of attraction). You would come across scenes from Hindu Epic Ramayana on the temple walls and you would be able to make out most of them with little patience and tenacity. A piece of advice, plan to visit during early afternoon, I think the balmy sun light in winter is just right between 3.30 - 5.30 pm...don't waste time while waiting for the electric cart, the walk to the temple is pleasant and part of the experience, so just enjoy every bit of it. You can easily buy tickets at the site by paying cash or UPI or online.

One of the best place to represent the India Tourism. Such a beautiful place and luckily we visited on Monday and it was not crowded at all. We have ample time to spend at every nook on corner of this beautiful monument . We got the ticket for just Rs 30 which can be used at number of places. There is no photography charges. The battery operated car will ferry you from parking to main entrance at a minimal cost of rs 20. The legendary story of Ramayana was depicted in the wall of this monument. A guide for full day will be available at Rs 2500 and it is good to have guide if accompanied by children . Guide will provide the details and kids will enjoy the story. The stone Chariot in the center which is featured in Rs 50 note can be witnessed

The most iconic temple of Hampi. Vast and far away from parking. You can take a battery operated car for Rs10 per head. The stone chariot and the musical pillars are in this temple. Always crowded but since the place is vast you won't feel the crowd. You will need at least 1.5 hours to see this place.

We ought to express our gratitude to the brilliant architects and civil engineers of ancient times. This place is a UNESCO-designated masterpiece of destructive beauty. The intricately carved stone sculptures showcase astonishingly minute details, offering a visual feast to all who behold them. The technological marvels, such as the musical pillars and the ingenious provision of natural light, left me utterly clueless about the ideologies behind their creation. The beautifully carved chariot, adorned with meticulous detailing, has the power to truly captivate the mind and leave it in awe.

Famous tourist spot. We visited on 15 January & it was very crowded due to the festival and Sunday. Parking was 500 meters away from the main entrance, so we had to take an auto from there. After reaching the main entrance, we took a battery operated vehicle to reach the main temple area. Charges were Rs.10 per person. Ticket for the main temple area was Rs.40 per person. A very big area with many temples/ruins. Many guides are available. The famous chariot from the Rs.50 note was the main attraction. In return, again the battery operated vehicle took us back to the main entrance.

Great Place, amazing architecture, constructed by stone about a 700 years ago. The Stone Chariot is a must see in real. Amazing place to visit for history buffs. I wish the temple was maintained well, no restrooms and the transport is tough but if you get there you will be rewarded highly.

These beautiful hand carvings and stone sculptures are just amazing! The people who carved these are such great and talented people! The architecture is on a different level altogether! Without any technology and machinery they built such beautiful places. These must be preserved and protected for many more generations! 🙏🕉️

Huge temple with no deity, it's designed and constructed with rich cultural values, from parking to temple there is pond structure and vittala bazaar. Couple of structures are closed as some maintenance work was happening. It's certainly one of great place to visit

It's around 1 km from the parking lot. There won't be any parking fees. There are no shops for snacks near the temple. The entry fee is Rs.40 and the cost of an electric vehicle from parking will be Rs.10 per person. New washrooms have been built near the temple, but those were locked. The existing old washrooms are in horrible condition. It's recommended to hire a guide in these places if you are having a good time in Hampi. Nearby places are Kings Balance and Sugreevas Cave.

If you're a fan of architecture works, then it's a must visit. A sad thing about this place is, it has lost its beauty without proper maintenance. From the parking area to the main temple, you have a battery car service for which they charge Rs. 20 per person, up and down. You can walk too, which will be approximately 2 kms. An entry fee of Rs. 40 will be charged too. If you are eager to know the facts of the place, Google about it and travel or hire a guide who are available there, not sure how much trustworthy they're.

Impressive ruins of the temple with many students of design and architecture visiting and sketching the lovely arts on the pillars during our visit. You will need minimum half a day to visit and fully appreciate the place. The tickets which you purchase here can also be used to visit other sites in Hampi, like Lotus Mahal so retain the tickets. During our visit, tickets were not being issued at the counter, you had to purchase online using the QR code displayed at the entrance so make sure you have a smart phone with good connectivity. This site is located further away from most of the other sites/ruins. Most other sites are within a few kilometers of each other so plan your days carefully. It's an impressive structure, with beautiful carvings and the pillars have it's own pillars built - high degree of skill and workmanship. To appreciate fully, it would be good to hire a guide and make sure he does not rush you through. There are other sites to visit around the complex which are also impressive. Even within the complex, there are many structures with great carvings on the pillars and walls. The stone chariot is within the complex.

So much touched by the ruins of the ancient iconic temple that has amazing stone structures such as the incomparable stone chariot and the fascinating musical pillars. The temple exemplifies the immense creativity and architectural excellence possessed by the sculptors and artisans of the Vijayanagara times.

Amazing experience to visit this temple and great experience for the kids as well. There is so much to know and learn about our rich cultural heritage that’s completely missing from the tex books and can’t be covered in school curriculum. Travel to these marvels and architectural masterpieces is the only way to enrich oneself with the vast knowledge and understand the history. Must visit place in Humpi.

A Tranquil Marvel of Architecture - VijayVithhal Temple, Hampi Our visit to VijayVithhal Temple in Hampi left us utterly mesmerized! "Mindblowing," "wow," and "superb" are the words that come to mind when describing this architectural marvel. The grandeur of the temple is truly breathtaking, with intricate details that showcase the craftsmanship of a bygone era. What struck us the most was the peaceful ambiance, making it an ideal place for contemplation. The absence of idols in any of the structures added a unique touch, allowing us to appreciate the sheer beauty of the architecture. A visit to VijayVithhal Temple is a must for anyone seeking a serene experience amidst historical splendor.

Hampi was the last capital of the Vijayanagara kingdom, one of the most significant in Southern India. Hampi’s 16th Century Vitthala Temple is one of the most ornate monuments and represents the best of Vijayanagara architecture. The historical monument is also a UNESCO heritage site. The highlight of the Vitthala temple is the spectacular stone chariot. The Stone chariot is one of the finest examples of the Vijayanagara style of architecture. Chariot has carvings depicting mythical battle scenes. Standing on two giant wheels, two elephants are seen pulling the chariot. Indian 50 rupees currency notes have stone chariot images. It is said to be a shrine of Garuda, believed to be Lord Vishnu’s vehicle. The Vitthala temple complex has the Kalyan Mandapa and Utsav Mandapa. One of the unique features of temple are its carved musical pillars, which are said to produce the sounds of 81 different musical instruments when tapped with a wooden stick. The parking space is also available. The battery operated car will take you from the parking to the main entrance. You can opt for a guide who can help you understand and explain the entire monument.

Mesmerizing architecture that way built by our ancestors. If the Mughal demolition hadn't happened this temple would have come in the Top 10 temples of India. Couldn't bear the emotions while taking a tour of this temple of the fact how great this temple would have been if it was intact. The greatest architecture in the Vijayanagara empire. #Respect

One of the must visit places in Hampi. You can only go till a certain distance in your private vehicle. After that, you have to take a walk of about 1-2 KM. There is an option to take e-vehicle, which costs you 20 rs up and down. The ticket cost to enter the temple costs 40 per Person. The temple is huge and beautiful. You can see the Musical pillars and the famous stone chariot over here.

One of the iconic places in Hampi that houses the world famous stone chariot. The temple was dedicated to lord vishnu which is now not worshipped. The primary attraction of the temple is the musical pillars carved on the temple outer platform. As on today, it's not allowed either to enter the platform or touch the musical pillars. In my childhood, I had the opportunity to listen to the music coming from the pillars. Since excessive usage, the pillars have worn out. That's why it's not allowed now. The entry fee to the temple is 35 for Indian individuals.

UNESCO Heritage site at Hampi. What a architecture!!!! We have to explore this location and feel our culture. We lost many engineers who did this sculptures and designs.

Since it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has been kept really clean. There is also a battery operated buggy service transporting people from the Parking to the temple complex at ₹10 which is at a distance of around 1km (although you can walk if you'd like to). Enjoyed an enriching historical and cultural experience at the temple complex.

Vijaya Vittala temple is world famous for the intriguing musical pillars. As per the local guides the granite pillars are tuned to emit different notes of various musical instruments and during its time trained people beat the pillars rhythmically to emit music which accompanied the dancing inside the temple. The temple is currently in ruins with no entry for the front portion (guide mentioned that some miscreants damaged a pillar). It would be great if the structure could be renovated to its past glory
