UPDATE: THIS is my new BEST restaurant. Ate canh chua, ca kho, and snail in coconut. Wow. Wow.. Have not been disappointed in anything we've eaten here so far. This is just based on Pho. This is the BEST pho in Tampa and I've eaten at so many places! Eaten here a few times now and it never disappoint. The pho dac biet and pho bac (Northern pho) is very flavorful. The pho bac has marinated beef which was really good and bread stick. Both pho comes with vinegar onions and h the usual herbs. Love the vinegar onions - take it up a notch!! This is my to go place for pho. I did try banh xeo and it was good also, very crunchy and coconutty.... service was friendly. The waitress very outspoken and friendly and knows her stuff. Only thing is I wish they offer smaller bowls- could never finish a full regular bowl - so full.

My spouse and I decided to try this out as a new place. We both ordered vegan options. We tried the golden dumplings which were delicate and delicious. We also tried the Vegan Chicken with lemongrass and the vegan stir fry with bean thread noodles. The lemongrass dish was very fragrant and spicy. The stir fry was full of vegetables, and had a tasty soy sauce. Both portions were very generous and we have enough leftovers for lunch. My spouse also had the Jasmine tea, and he said (as a tea snob) that it was a high quality tea. Our server was a very kind and attentive young lady who gave us ample time to review the menu, answered all of our questions, and never let our water glasses get empty.

I love Tran Noodle for being so inclusive to other diets! They include a VERY multifarious vegan menu and the food that’s on it is very tasty! Their tofu is very well cooked and the imitation pork spring roll is so yummy that I could probably get full off of those alone! When i asked to add vegan chicken to a dish, the waitress let me know that they can not do any add ins with vegan protein; my only complaint is that they allow for more customization in the future (: for now, it’s wonderful!

I was looking for seafood dish since it was Friday and no meat since it’s Lent. I ordered the E1 seafood with vegetables and it needed more flavor, but it had a lot of shrimp and squid in the dish. I also ordered vegan summer rolls. The rolls were so yummy with the dipping sauce.

I got the spring roll on rice noodle. Quite refreshing with slight spice (almost non-existent, but I’m from the Caribbean). Also very light and satisfying. Workers there were positive and professional. The eating space looks clean as well.

Yo, these folks have the best Pho & Vegan/vegetarian dishes in the area! I’ve been trying to find a spot with soy meat that mimics real meat for a while now and this the one! It’ll tasted just like chicken or fish but is made from soy! Claypot, curries and soups are bomb af 💣

Exceptional Service with a smile! We received our Pho fresh and hot within minutes. It was authentic and tasty. Spring rolls were fresh and the peanut sauce was really enjoyable.Place was busy at 1:30 in the afternoon so it was a good sign they are doing the right thing.

I barely give critic reviews but this place is out of my imagination. THE WORST PHO I’VE TASTED IN MY LIFE! The service was very clumsy and the kitchen basically talks so loud that all the customers can hear it from the front. The price is ridiculously higher than other Vietnamese restaurants. Our appetizer (chicken wings) came out last and the meat wasn’t even cooked. Please save yourself from this experience!!

On the way home from TPA on July 4, we decided to visit again after a great visit once before which we thoroughly enjoyed. The service, despite being very busy and one poor girl by herself, was attentive and fairly quick. My biggest pet peeve is cold food. Ours was piping hot (thank you!) and very tasted. There are many many vegan and vegetarian options. Big menu. Spacious. All around good experience.

The food here is as excellent as it has ever been. The family that is taken over, has done a wonderful job and kept the food fresh healthy and tasty. My wife and I go here each week at least once. We try all of the vegan meals and occasionally dip and occasionally dip into the traditional meals with protein. I haven't tried everything yet which is why this is such a wonderful restaurant to go to. The desserts are fabulous as well. My personal favorite is the fried banana. I could eat 4 or 5 of those. The central Vietnamese noodle dish is a this is a cacophony of delightful tastes. My wife's favorite is the fish and a clay pot. Another one that I absolutely love is Beef over watercress. I don't know what spice is in there but it is just delicate, delightful and delicious.

Pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It’s hard for me to find authentic Vietnamese food outside the house. I ordered carry out and the packaging felt like how your family member would pack your food for you. The ziploc bag was filled to the brim with vegetables (banana flower, lettuce, bean sprouts, jalapeños slices, mint, culantro, cilantro and green onion) and they even provided shrimp paste for full authenticity! I ordered bun rieu, which is a crab meat based soup with tomatoes, tofu and pig’s blood. I know how it sounds, but trust me on this- they belong together. I’m fully impressed by the food and highly recommend for anyone wanting an authentic viet foodie experience!

This is the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. The menu is huge with so many vegan and vegetarian choices. You need to go here right now. I loved everything I got. My favorites were the vegan winter roll, vegan bao bun, vegan wonton soup, charred tofu, and fried banana.

This is the second time back since the pandemic so it’s been awhile since we been to Tran noodle formerly Tran viet. They have a vegan friendly menu to which we had the summer and spring rolls which was yummy good. I had a meat entree of pork skewers and pickled salad which was very good as well . There is lots of options to try in a quiet cozy atmosphere. If your in north Tampa you should give this place a try.

Interior upgraded nicely from previous owner. Beautiful, high quality menu with photos accompanied by detailed descriptions. Wide variety of appetizers, pho and entrees available. Many vegan options. Food is fresh and flavorful! So why only four stars? One guy covering the entire floor. 90% of their business is takeout & delivery. Seated customers are secondary. Every time the guy came to my table after a lengthy delay, he apologized. Interesting way to run a restaurant. Hope he can hire a person dedicated to the front of the house. That would make a monumental difference.

Vegan food is great! They have a big variety of vegan plates to chose from. It made it hard to pick. I will be coming back again to try the other dishes! Each dish had a description of what it contains, which was super helpful. Loved the music they had in the background and the led lights. I recommend 100% even if you aren’t vegan. They had regular dishes too.

I hadn't eaten at this place in years, back when they were in their old location. I was glad to see they still had my favorite dishes on the menu (I had the vegan lemongrass beef). The feed is quite good, and the service is friendly, quick and helpful. The lighting is a little distracting, but overall my family had a great experience.

Fantastic pho. My wife loves Pho and we eat it at least once a week. The one thing lacking in my Pho joints is variety. I travelled to Trang Viet/Tran Noodle to try Bun Bo Hue which is similar to Pho but not served at many Pho places. All the dishes we tried were excellent. The service was fantastic and the owner was a pleasure to chat with. I will definitely be visiting again to try other dishes on their extended menu.

Happened across this restaurant today. Simple with modest decor. Was greeted by a very kind gentleman I could only presume was the owner. We made our appetizer selection, wings and 4 seasons and the entree Which was their noodle and pork soup. I don't really leave reviews but everything was fantastic!!!! We will be back and if given the opportunity, I highly recommend putting this restaurant in your list to visit!!!

Bought the pork clay pot, vegan beef, summer roll and a winter roll. Food wasn’t anything like the pictures. It didn’t taste right, the oil in the clay pot smelled funny.Food was overpriced for the quality. I didn’t try the pho here(which apparently might be good). I’ve tried better Vietnamese cuisine around tampa which tastes better and priced perfectly.

This place is a hidden gem. Both the environment and the taste of the food is exactly what you need if you want to feel like you’re eating in a traditional Vietnamese home. It’s cozy in there. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. The pho was so delicious it really tasted like it was home made. My favorite spot in Tampa. The restaurant was served by a kind older man who you can tell is so humble and cares for their business. I can’t explain it to you, but I left feeling wholesome. I will be coming back again and again. Please support this small business. Everything was amazing. 10/10

I am almost 8 years late in leaving this review and I am so sorry for that! I love this place with all my heart. My first time here was on a Valentine's date in 2015 as a USF student -- I married that person and we're still loving Trang!! They have an amazing variety of vegan options and things you can only get at their restaurant, like vegan steamed buns and wonton soup. This is one of my favorite places in Tampa run by such a nice family and I always wish them the best.

The Pho had the best brooth I've ever had. The ingredients were delicious as well; however, the large was small and not a lot of ingredients. There was almost no tendon and no tripe. My wife said her fried rice had too much rice and not enough other ingredents. I had the papaya salad. It did not have any flavor except for the mint which was overpowering.

The food is ridiculously greasy. I ordered the chicken rice noodle soup and it had a cm thick layer of grease. If you can get past the grease, then the soup base itself doesn't taste like any pho I've ever had. It is NOT good. The noodles are so gummy that they just smooth right in your hand. The duck sauce is actual a chili oil based duck sauce. Would not recommend eating there.

The broth is different, but delicious. Beef pho tasted like a hug. Smaller portion, but the broth makes up for it. Spring rolls were crispy, fish sauce was good.

Many items on the rather extensive menu are no longer available, and that was a little disappointing, but what we did get was very good. It took about 20 minutes from our ordering to the food being served; that's not acceptable for lunchtime. Most people don't have the luxury of waiting so long for the food to be served.

  • 5/5 Brian Y. 9 months ago on Google
Excellent chicken pho! I enjoyed it, the broth was delicious. Had a special, got a medium bowl which is more than enough with a steamed pork bun. My first time eating a steamed pork bun and I'm impressed! You will love it!

This place is amazing! The first time we went to Tran Noodle was because we wanted to find a new restaurant to try out, my daughter found it online so we gave it a shot. I loved the simple family style atmosphere. The Pho was wonderful, you get more than you pay for and everything is so fresh and delicious. We have been back now 5 times and this week my oldest daughter decided to have her family birthday dinner here, we are so excited to share this place with the rest of the family.

We've been going here for years & the food is always great! Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options and the staff are friendly. Usually nice and quiet there, too. HIGHLY recommend the Vegan Imitation Curry Chicken and spring rolls!

  • 5/5 Kyle P. 1 year ago on Google
I don’t usually make reviews but Tran noodle has a special place in my heart. They had an awesome remodel. The tables are now really spacious and their booth style sitting is really comfortable. The servers are really nice and respectful and the restaurant had a really peaceful feel. When you go there you have to try their Vietnamese coffee which is made fresh every time, it is so good. Their papaya salad was super refreshing and good. They also had a big variety of vegan options that you should try. Their prices were also really affordable. I hope you guys can come support this local restaurant. Like all places it got hit pretty hard after covid, so please come out support them and try their food.

Customer service was good. My wife and I ordered vegan ginger steak and tofu curry and were quite disappointed. These plates were at least 14.00 each and we felt extremely skimped. Her tofu dish had 6 small cubes of tofu at best and my vegan steak was okay I guess but could’ve been more for what we were charged. My steak was more of an imitator meatloaf and both sauces for our food was basically flavored water/broth. No richness,no thickness smh. Wish we had a good experience like everyone else. Maybe non vegans have a better experience or maybe the cook wasn’t on point today. Big waste of over 30.00 and a not so good dinner date meal.

A great little spot for some great Vietnamese food. They even have a vegan menu for those who choose. The service was quick and friendly and the food was great. I would definitely go back!

**MENU IS OUTDATED. VEGAN MENU IS GONE.** The ownership has changed. This location, which used to be a Tampa vegan staple, has "new plans" per the owner which do not include many vegan options. Any vegans looking to this destination: Call ahead of time and see what is remaining. It is not much. To the owner: Please consider adding the vegan menu back. If you look at the reviews here, on Yelp or HappyCow, they are all raving about the restaurant being a wonderful destination for a plant-based diet. While I appreciate your desire for change, I would also appreciate your consideration toward adding some vegan items back, on behalf of our community. This location was a beacon of light in a desolate food desert for us for many years and always guaranteed delicious options with a relaxing spot. Why not incorporate both your plan and some of the more classic vegan items the restaurant is known for? Thank you! Very disappointed that the lights have dimmed for this restaurant's plant-based offerings.
