An gateway to the walled city of Multan. A tree of Banyan( Bohar) was located here that's why it's called bohar gate and it's more than 200 years old place. One can find traditional and delicious cuisine specially breakfast just at the entrance.

Bohar Gate The historical remains of Multan city are a reference to the identity of Multan around the world. Tourists from all over the world look at these buildings with amazed eyes. These ancient historical gates are still a symbol of the historical glory of Multan. One of them is Bohar Gate. Bohar Gate is also very famous because of its conservation. Ravi River used to flow outside Bohar Gate, surrounded by Bohar trees. The reason for its fame was the large number of Bohar (Banyan) trees here. The trees also became the sight of the defeat of the times. So, a tree is still refreshing these old memories. Ibn Battuta entered the city of Multan through this gate. The name of Bohar gate has been going on since ancient times. But the present gate is not ancient. The ancient gate was destroyed during the British attack on Multan. After the capture of Multan, the British rebuilt this gate. There is a local clothes market named Kaley Mandi in side the gate and electrical market out side the gate.

The city has six gates: Lohari Gate, Pak Gate, Bohar Gate, Delhi Gate, Haram Gate, and Daulat Gate. The old city has narrow colourful bazaars full of local handicrafts and narrow winding lanes. Multan is widely famous for its spiritual capacities being the home of revered saints and men of God. In which Bohar Gate has a lot of cloth sellers. Crockery, herablists, must have the traditional morning breakfast here. But yes saintary issues yes. Then there is close by the gold bazar. But one should bargain heavily local guide needed.

A very ancient old place from the Mughal Empire era. The architecture and narrow streets make me remember ancient times. Different shops are there to facilitate people belonging to middle-class families because of their low range price rate. PHA and local administration should focus on the maintenance of this ancient asset.

Historic place. Traffic is much high so it is recommended to park your car in a safe spot and then walk. Otherwise the narrow roads lead to traffic blocks.

There are no requirements for buying a ticket. All entries are FREE. Bohar gate is one of the older gates which was used to enter Old Multan city. Nowadays, since the city has expanded, so there is an unprecedented rush and uncontrollable traffic of auto rickshaws, pedestrians and street hawkers. Day time on a working day is a bad choice to visit for tourism. However stationary and electrical items are best available in the area. For information, Friday is observed as a holiday in Bohar gate and vicinity.

Gone for Electric Gate Lock. Much Variety available. Don't use local power supply for this lock. Purchase lock from here and go Hussanagai at "Shakir Electronics" for Imported power Supply. Ideally (12V , 5 amperes). Adopter e.g Hitachi
