Last
Sunday,
we
were
needing
something
different,
like
delicious
pizza
from
someplace
local.
So
we
decided
to
try
takeout
from
the
Von
Ebert
Taproom
in
Cedar
Mill.
I
had
some
confusion
about
the
menu
items
at
the
different
locations
on
their
website,
but
it
didn’t
matter.
When
I
called,
the
lady
who
answered
the
phone,
Claire
(?)
was
as
nice
as
could
be.
She
talked
me
through
the
entire
menu,
and
shared
her
thoughts
on
the
best
dishes,
the
most
popular,
and
how
they
are
constantly
working
on
making
their
pizza
crust
even
more
amazing.
She
was
so
friendly
and
obviously
proud
of
what
they
are
doing
there
at
Von
Ebert,
I
could
hear
it
in
her
voice.
We
ordered
a
BIG
pepperoni
pizza,
a
killer
meatball
sandwich
(with
extra
cheese
for
me),
and
some
chicken
wings
with
two
of
the
many
different
sauces
she
told
me
about,
all
made
in-house
from
scratch.
To
say
this
takeout
order
didn’t
disappoint
would
be
a
gross
understatement.
It
absolutely
hit
the
spot.
Delicious.
But
to
make
it
even
more
memorable,
the
staff
was
friendly
to
the
point
of
surprise.
They
asked
if
I
needed
plates,
forks,
etc.
and
even
introduced
themselves
before
thanking
me
for
coming
in.
Unbelievable.
Truly
friendly
service
is
just
so
rare
these
days,
and
here’s
this
little
local
joint
being
absolutely
awesome.
I
smiled
and
told
everyone
about
their
great,
affable
energy
when
I
got
home.
I
became
a
fan.
Tonight,
after
a
busy
Friday,
we
decided
to
try
more
of
the
delicious-sounding
menu
items
on
Von
Ebert
website.
This
time,
we
ordered
delivery
from
the
flagship
restaurant
in
the
Pearl
District.
(The
Cedar
Mill
Taproom
is
a
limited
menu,
though
it
was
all
great.)
Holy
wow.
Two
different
truly
artisan
pizzas,
full-quarter
chicken
wings
with
woah-what-is-that-BBQ-sauce
&
homemade
ranch,
and
poutine
with
the
best
kind
of
seasoned
fries.
Are
you
kidding
me?
Where
has
Von
Ebert
been
all
of
my
pizza-loving
life?
If
you’re
still
reading
this,
stop
reading.
Go
straight
to
their
menu,
and
order
as
much
food
as
you
can.
Because
Von
Ebert
is
the
type
of
local
restaurant
that
we
all
want
to
prosper
and
thrive.
They
are
awesome
and
the
food
rocks.
Five
stars!
