This gem of a restaurant has now closed down. Have been eating here for many years, great prices, good staff & a definite rapport. We will miss you guys, wish all the staff the very best. Been replaced by a Malaysian Restaurant, yet to savour the delights but will right a review after first visit. The Spice of India will be a hard act to follow..bon chance!

I have seen a few review sites say this restaurant is now closed. It is not. I spent the last two weeks(2019 09 07 to 09 22) in the UK and dined here 3 times. It was that good. All the positive reviews are spot on. The service and the food are the best. Hidden gem is right. If you are in London you have to go. Lancaster Gate station on the tube and a two minute walk. Worth your while.

Excellent food, kind and friendly staff. Quaint little location near Hyde Park. The next time we are in London we would definitely go back!

Lovely little place. First time I went here was 2006 on a short trip. came back 2008 and 2010. in 2010, the waiter remembered me, it was such a surprise! Came back numerous times, it's on my list every time I'm in London. Food feels very authentic, you order all dishes and sides separately, not the usual curry soup mixture you'd get in many other places. I've not been to India, but this is how I imagine it, you can taste all the different flavours and spices and mix and match yourself. The restaurant itself is tiny, be we tend to eat early and always found some room. The waiters are very attentive, while low key at the same time. Once your glass is empty, it magically fills up without you even knowing. It's a very pleasant experience to come here.

Liked it a lot. Quite lot of choices for vegan. Delicious food, but remember, its spicy. The service was in high level. We've got warm wet towels after the dinner and nice small chocolates on the house. What is more, it is in a good location, near Kensington gardens. After we visited Peter Pens statue in Kensinton garden, was just two min walk. Prices are good! Only that 10% is already included in the bill. But i guess that is in most places here in London. There's menu in their website if You want to check it before U go.

Excellent. Our server and the rest of the staff were busy, frantic, and shorthanded...but they didn't let this affect the speed or quality of our meal. Our server was especially kind!

I ate at the old version for years and liked it. This new version is FANTASTIC!!!! The decor is simple and beautiful, small and so cozy. The staff are so welcoming and professional. The food is wonderful, fresh and tasting excellent... and the prices are of great value. Well done Spice of India! I would highly recommend this for people who like great food, in a spotless environment at reasonable prices. A best value in London for sure and so close to Lancaster Gate tube station. Go!!!!

A Hidden gem. I don’t believe I have ever had better Indian food. So good in fact that we ate there twice in my seven days in London. The staff is wonderfully helpful. On my next trip across the pond this will be a first stop.
