This is a great little bar with a Honky Tonk theme and it does actually remind me of a moonshine bar I've visited in Nashville. Great decor, selection of drinks (even craft beers) and fantastic staff especially Caz who was so friendly and attentive to make sure we never waited long for a drink. Played a mix of old country music and rock (I'd prefer more Country 🤠😉) but the atmosphere and ambience is pleasant and chilled. Will definitely be back and recommending to all #CountryMusicAttendees

Americana-styled boozer in Highgate. The super friendly staff, broad variety of beers, and quality playlists and live music make this place a fun night out.

🚇 Highgate 🍺 Fun Pig Lager ❤️ Highgate has some wonderful pubs with various offerings to the discerning pub goer. So on a crawl around Highgate I decided that my last port of call would be here at @thedukesofhighgate . . This independent pub sits on Highgate High Street and is a ten minute walk from Highgate Tube. The pub is built in the coaching inn style, so before entering I was expecting a traditional pub interior with all the usual accoutrements but to my surprise I thought I’d walked in to a bar in Nashville, Tennessee. The Dukes Head is an American themed pub full of all things americana but with a Britishness at its heart. The decor here is amazing, you can’t help but admire each and every sign, poster, bears head and even a Dolly Parton pinball table head, it’s just brilliant. I visited here with my sister and brother in law and they both commented how impressed they were with the boozer and what a lovely atmosphere there was. We sat enjoying our drinks and listening to the soundtrack of blues and rock anthems and immersed ourselves in to our surroundings. The drink options here are diverse and extensive but its not all light beers and bourbon, there are cask ales on offer and they even have one of there own, The Dukes Tub. We were served by a really nice member of staff who navigated us through the beer choice, I had the Fun Pig Lager which was really nice and happily it didn’t taste of bacon 😂. . I love visiting and experiencing pubs all over London and it’s a real joy to find the unexpected. I have visited pubs with beautiful architecture and decor, pubs with amazing people and service, and pubs which offer a great experience, The Dukes Head was definitely a great experience and offers something unique to the London pub goer, Yee-Haw 🤠. . 📊 Information correct on visiting 18/09/21 .

TEXAN APPROVED ✔️🤠 If you were ever wondering what a good ol’ American Honky Tonk is like (or have no idea what it is) The Duke’s Head is the perfect example. The decor, drinks and music are always spot on, you completely forget you’re in London. The owners and staff are so lovely and considerate.. Love my home away from home 💘

Small local pub music pub playing country/bluegrass both live and recorded. Fantastic vibe especially at weekends. A true secret gem hidden in a quiet little north London village.

Great bar with serious Americana vibes. Cool pop up "rack city ribs" delivering the goods on food and a selection of beers that makes me think I'm drinking in a bar in California. Go for the food & beer, stay for the good vibes, die for the mac and cheese.

A real hidden gem. Greet craft beer. Also have cocktails. And a pop up kitchen that is always surprisingly fantastic for a nice cozy pub. Nice and approachable sized space with a good crowd. They also have a decent sized tv for a laid back foot game experience at a really laid back pub.

Even if you're not a country western fan, you'd struggle to not love this place. The food is INSANE with great vegan options as well as meat dishes. Drink variety is superb also. Honestly one of the best bars in the area!

Absolutely great place to visit, with a proper country vibe and really friendly staff. The food is fantastic, super tasty and nicely portioned. The Cornbread is to die for.

You cannot beat the dukes for atmosphere. We went on Halloween and were not disappointed. As London only honky tonk bar it earns this title and is a big ol slice of Americana. I have never seen better Halloween decorations.

Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap and Rack City Ribs delivering the best smoked meats - we had beef and pork ribs, the 7 cheese mac n' cheese, and legendary Hash Brown fries. The tastes, the smells, the sights and the country tunes reminded us of being back in texas.

Would have loved to have the beef ribs but they were sold out … the rest was okay. The bartenders and the guys at the kitchen are really friendly and professional, and the overall atmosphere is really nice although a bit loud for a catch up but defo recommended

Previous owners of the legendary big red on holloway road and Alexandra. Friendly staff, good selection of drinks, great music. The only honky tonk bar in london, one of the few rock bars left. My kinda bar, recommend.

This pub is another example of what sets Highgate apart from other areas of London. You’ll be warmly welcomed and taken care of- go there a couple of times and they’ll remember your name. Whether you want to sit at the bar for a chat with staff and other patrons or find yourself a quiet place in the corner this is a great place to spend a few hours. the great choice of beers as whiskies here will not disappoint

A great find, the only pub dedicated to Country music and decor I've come across in London. Good prices on alcohol and really nice staff. Will definitely be back!

Quite a jolly pub, Americana themed. Music not bad. But seats were uncomfortable and classic margarita wasn't classic. Had great Halloween decorations!!

Country music, trucker hats and similar Americana paraphernalia create a joyful atmosphere to enjoy your Pickleback in (try it - it's fantastic!). Brought to you by the original owners of the Big Red on Holloway Road (when it was still doing live music and had a soul). Dogs are welcome as well!

This is the best neighbourhood pub run by lovely guys and a cool bar woman with her own out-there style-of-dress. The decor is quirky and laid back. Low-lit. Friendly. Live music some nights.

Having not been here since pre covid, I have to say WOW at the revamp of this place. I was blown away at the difference the remodel made. I am southern American and it was such wonderful surprise to see what they’ve done with the place. Made me feel right at home. BBQ food great, atmosphere great, will definitely be returning regularly now.
