I visited here on a Saturday evening and it was very busy and lively. There was a large group of us so we were seated in the private dining area and ordered off the set menu. The food was absolutely delicious, I couldn’t fault it and the portions were plentiful, everyone left with full bellies. The cocktails were tasty and made well and there was a good selection. The service was wonderful, our waiter Dave always coming and checking if everything was okay and that we had enough drinks. It was my sisters birthday and he made her feel so special, it was great. The interior is beautifully decorated and music was great too. The live music room was so energetic and the music definitely represented soul. If you’re after a good night out, I definitely recommend Blues Kitchen!!

Great Night out. We got the private dining area which was great because it can get a bit loud in the main areas. Our server Simone was 5* ....very attentive and friendly. Food was great, the usual options for this kind of venue (burgers, ribs, steal etc) but the quality of the food was good (and the portion sizes). They have a live band in the evening and a nightclub upstairs if you want to eat and party all in one spot. Overall I would definitely go back

What a suprise, over the years i had good and bnot great experiences, here , but this time was an absolutely wonderful evening from the moment i called to book a table, Liberty was an absolutely awesome, professional, friendly and so informative such a happy experience rarity to find someone so passionate and well informed about the venue they work in . Food at Blue's Kitchen is always good , it is truly great! Service, smiles, and level of professionalism are outstanding!! We had " boss burger" and vegetarian option one, perfection!!! Well done 👏🏼 Came for a music show upstairs Don-e music gig was truly phenomenal and band musicians on another level , one of the best performances I've seen for a while. Thank you so much for phenomenal hospitality and fantastic evening!!

First time trying blues kitchen I’ve heard a lot about it and honestly, it did not disappoint! Upon entry you could smell the sweetest, smokiest bbq 😍😍😍 My top recommendations: Cheeseburger spring rolls Cornbread Bbq rib with the salad (the salad is AMAZING !) Music was good, drinks could be stronger service was pretty slow and we had to call out for attention and even go up to them a couple times. Overall I would recommend this place and I would definitely go back

First experience at eating in this local establishment. The place was absolutely buzzing, stunning interior for restaurant. Moving to the food. We had Popcorn squid which was amazing, not soggy, light and flavourful, the buffalo chicken wings to die for! Our cocktails beautifully prepared. Love the look of the staff, which helps. We had the Double cheeseburger and Eib of pork which melts in your mouth. Will definitely go back for more.

Good food. Good attentive service. Cool ambiance. And we got 50% discount through our friends so it was a top notch night out. We ordered various appetisers. I especially liked the artichoke dip. My main was shrimp burger which was divine. Good selection of cocktails too.

Had an amazing time and dinner here at The Blues Kitchen Brixton. The staff were really friendly and attentive, and the service was great! The food was delicious, especially the Cajun popcorn squid, buttermilk fried chicken and the prawn/shrimp sandwich ❤️ The fries were crispy and tasty. Can't wait to come back!

Really cool venue with an excellent selection of spirits and live acts that provide top notch entertainment. The only downside is a lack of draft beer upstairs, however having said that, modello is available at a reasonable price (by Inner London standards). My only major complaint would be the lack of compassion of staff for a lady that was passed out on the side seats upstairs. A lady was lying down completely unresponsive for a worryingly long amount of time and no one called for medical attention and I feel as though they were lucky as it could have been a matter of life or death. I hope they learn lesson, heaven forbid this ever happens again.

Loved that place. Really nice ambiance and friendly staff. Went on a Wednesday evening, so £5 cocktails!! Food was absolutely delicious. And music (harmonica and guitar) was smashing!

This place was amazing. As soon as we went inside we knew it was special! We had an early tea as we were attending a concert at the 02 academy down the road but even then it was busy. The staff are what made this place even more special! They all were so helpful and polite! And then the food! Amazing. I went with the brisket sandwich and it was absolutely amazing. Then finished it off with the Oreo donuts. Yum! And being from Bristol visiting on the weekend it was nice to see a cider available! Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Great little ‘hidden’ gem just a short walk from the centre of Brixton. Good food and good range of beers with a great team of staff serving. Tables are arranged mostly in the American diner booth style which gives a bit of privacy. Nice atmosphere with low lighting and a slightly steam Pink feel to the decor. If you’re ok with a short stroll (5 minutes) from the centre this is a good place to go

Gorgeous venue with a nice speakeasy vibe. The food is delicious and unusual - this was the first time I’ve ever had blue corn chips with spinach and artichoke dip! The staff are super friendly and the food comes really quickly. I’ll definitely be going back!

It's definitely buzzing in here all week. To avoid disappointment, book a table ahead of time. Every other day of the week, they will have a special event or promotion going on. I recommend coming on a Wednesday when drinks are £6. The food was fantastic, especially the mac and cheese bites, and the cocktails were really strong as well. The ambience in this restaurant is impeccable; it’s dim and gloomy, perfect for a cozy date or group gathering. I will come back again just to experience the live music.

Celebrated my friend’s birthday here and service was lovely, shoutout to our waiter Lauren (I think that was her name), who was just outstanding. One thing that threw me off was just the extremely low lighting and two flights of stairs to the toilets but everything else was perfect! Clean and well designed. The ribs were coming off the bone, so tender, beautifully paired with the sides that came with it especially the mac and cheese. The oreo donuts to round everything off was just a delight. Would definitely recommend this as a cute romantic date spot. The ambience hits the spot.

Great staff, very attentive. Decor is really cool, great vibe. Food was a bit hit and miss. The Cajun popcorn squid was incredible but the ribs were really dry! Burger was good.

We had a lovely dinner out. Was our first time coming to The Blues Kitchen and we were pleasantly surprised at how amazing every dish was. I had the Big Shrimpin burger with fries and a side of Mac&Cheese My friend had the Boss Burger with fries and Mac&cheese too. Perfectly sized portions and everything was cooked amazingly well. We definitely plan to attend again and will probably make this our regular spot so we can try out more of the menu!

Service was excellent: reception was smiling at first arrival, Thia and her teammates were very good at taking care of us (table of 10). Food and drinks were delivered promptly and at the right time. Drinks were nice, the menu has various options and the bar is well furnished and prepared even though I would have loved more options for alcol free cocktails and an alcol free beer, but I am sure that if I'd ask the bartenders they would have made any requests (and anyway that is just me). Food was abundant and innovative, and I really appreciated the options for vegetarians and vegans. We went for the set menu and couldn't finish the mains. The fried chicken was very well seasoned and tasted amazing. I would have loved to try a dessert but I was too full. Premises were amazing, cool set up and marvelous graffiti that compensate the fact that the toilets were upstairs. Toilet (men) clean and with pleasant wood touches. The place is very nice. Atmosphere and overall experience very positive. The place gets 5 stars, live music happy people: either if you go with friends and or with your partner or date it is absolutely recommend!

One of the best dining experiences I've had in a LONG LONG while!! The ambiance was captivating. The music - lively, the energy radiating from the patrons - electrifying. From the perfect lighting, to the mosaic accent walls....the entire decor just screamed "you belong here!!" Our server, Prada, was the epitome of excellent customer service, she was very knowledgeable of the menu and easily put our doubt/fears at ease. The speed at which our meals were delivered from the time ordered, not even Usain Bolt could move that fast!!! You'd be tempted to believe that with the efficiency of service that the quality of meals may dwindle....I assure you that is not the case!!!! Everyone in our group was wholeheartedly satisfied with their meals and then some! The Szechuan Baby Back Ribs are to die for; truly heavenly 🤤🤤🤤 I truly recommend that you pass by with your friends/loved ones and have an amazing dining experience, you won't regret it!

Food is not bad but very very poor service. We were a group of 4. When we arrived, our friends had waited over 10 mins for their 2 beers already. They also got my wine wrong, after waiting for 10 mins, the waiter came back to check which red I ordered, but ended up bringing over a bottle instead of a glass TWICE! All in all it was a bad start of the experience. Then we realized that the waiter also forgot one of the mains we ordered. So we waited another 15 mins for our last main. During our meal, no one came to offer another drink or check if we are oaky. It took forever for them to clean our tables too. Waiter just disappeared after half way clearing our table. We initially wanted to order desserts and more cocktails, but the whole experience has been a disaster so far so we chose to spend our money somewhere else instead ! Food was the only positive thing on that night ! Seriously disappointed!

I must say the owners have out done themselves, from the theme of the restaurant, the music, the food 😘😘😘 I was blown away. My partner and had short ribs sharing for 2 and all I can sai is amazing. Then we had cocktails for £5 that's an offer they have every Wednesdays. Next time I'm in London I will definitely be visiting this place again

We went on a Friday night. RnB, Hip Hop and Afribeats with a live band. The band were really clutch and tight, but also pretty loose. I especially enjoyed the funky brass section and the bass guitar. Very good. It was exceptionally busy but there was just about room for a boogie. Later on, dancing became 2 dimensional due to space restrictions. Fine. Try and avoid the bar unless you've recently come into money. But look, that's London. All in, groovy, gritty, great fun.

Went here for dinner Sunday evening. It was pretty busy. Service and atmosphere is always pretty good here (not a place to come for a quiet meal as it is always pretty noisy). Food is not bad, portions are pretty big. We had the sharing Beef short stack rib, which was tasty and tender, but a little too much fat and fatty meat in it for my liking. Extras like Mac&Cheese and iceberg lettuce were pretty tasty. Found the chips to be a bit bland. They forgot our popcorn squid starter order, which they asked if we still wanted as we were tucking into our main course. We asked for it to be cancelled as we already had a lot of food. Unfortunately it still appeared on the bill, which I had paid before I realised. A card refund was actioned, but not yet showing on my card the next day. So hopefully it does come through.

The food was good, the prices a bit high. The place have a nice decoration. The staff is very attentive. The light is a bit poor that make difficult read the menu. The atmosphere cool with the music a bit high. Amazing selection of drinks.

Great night, both the live band and the dj were amazing all night. Food was delicious, though the shrimp taco bowl is mostly lettuce and the pork ribs were well seasoned but not well cooked. But the staff were all really nice and the vibe was good all night. Would definitely go again.

Good food. Decent cocktails and a sultry, dim-lit bar/restaurant ambiance. We arrived around six, and it was reasonable quiet. The place was full within an hour. I'd definitely recommend.

Would like to start of by saying that the whole entire team is incredible. Such a nice and chilled atmosphere & the customer service was amazing! Felt like it’s been so long since I’ve had good customer service at that standard. Moving onto the food, the buffalo wings???! Soooooooo delicious, loads of buffalo sauce on it, loved it. My partner got the spicy buffalo chicken burger and said it was really nice, as for myself I got the beef brisket which was 10/10. I didn’t like the coleslaw but that was very minor compared how good everything else was. Cocktails were good too! Whole thing was a vibe. Will definitely go back with my girls next time!

I wanted to experience a bit of Brixton and stopped in for a local IPA a bourbon and a burger. This place has charm for days and is a really cool space to hang with friends whilst enjoying a beer and tasty food and an extensive whiskey menu. I had a Blantons Gold with my dish. There are Cajon dishes, fried chicken, cornbreads and plenty of subtle atmosphere. On weekends and most nights they jam some live music to complete your night. My bar staff were both cool and welcoming and when in London again I'll be certain to return.

What a beautiful bar it is. Gorgeous interior and a well stocked bar that is fantastic for whiskey fans. The whole building is steeped in blues. We were lucky enough to catch an awesome act too. It really is all you could want from a night out and a must for lovers of the blues.

Had a great supper here. Staff excellent and attentive. Missed something off of our order but bounced back quick. Food was excellent with a nice vibe. Didn't see any live music as didn't have the time. Overall, a very positive experience.

Food was seasoned well, meat was tender and portion size was more than I could handle in one sitting. I wasn't sure i'd like the cheesburger spring rolls but i'm actually sad there were on two per portion lol. Will definitely order again along with the buffalo wings! The atmosphere was lively for a Monday night. Busy but not in a loud overcrowded way. Maybe the Monday/Tuesday keyring deal had something to do with that. Our server Jodie was absolutely lovely. Very attentive and very sweet. Much deserving of the tip we left! A good night was had by all in our party!!

Went for a friends birthday we were given the private room at the back of the restaurant. That was quite nice as we were a large group. The staff were brilliant especially Sade 101% service with a smile nothing was to much for her, we kept changing are minds and she continued accommodate us. The food and Cocktails were on point, cooked food well seasoned taste good 👍🏽. The venue is spacious has a club upstairs for live shows and clubbing, and downstairs is the restaurant. The decor is beautiful a few painting on the wall of jazz and blues singers. Nice bit of history. it also has a lift to take you from floor to floor. Oh i forgot to mention parking on the side roads meters in the day time after hours i believe it fine. I enjoyed myself worth a visit.

Good place for a Brass Band! Sar at the bar and would recommend for small groups. Bar food: 4/5 Bar service: no Bar service, customers need to gey their own food + drinks General service: 4/5 There is an upstairs which is normally for events, would recommend.

  • 4/5 Kostas P. 1 year ago on Google
We visited for drinks and to listen to the band upstairs. The area downstairs is mostly for dining and upstairs is more like a club with a DJ or a band. It's a great atmosphere, you definitely get in the mood of dancing but there are always some very drunk people disturbing you, pushing you and killing the mood. But after all, we had a great time! Definitely going again

Lovely spontaneous visit to Blues Kitchen for brunch, the popcorn Cajun squid was beautiful! I had the Big Shrimp Burger with chips & Mac n’ Cheese for the main, it was decent but I think I was expecting a bit more jazz! Nevertheless, it was a pleasant experience and the decor is absolutely stunning. Staff were so friendly & accommodating.

Been there few times now. Each time I loved it more. Great service, lovely staff. Every single food on the menu tastes amazing, my favourite one is vegan cauliflower wings. Cocktails are also brilliant. Interior design just keeps surprising you. Strongly recommended.
