Title: Mixed Experience at GoStops Mumbai: Great Location, Clean Washrooms, but Bed Bug Nightmare Rating: ★★☆☆☆ I recently had the opportunity to stay at GoStops Mumbai, and while there were some positive aspects, my overall experience was marred by a major issue with bed bugs throughout the night. Let me provide a detailed review of my stay. Starting with the positives, one of the highlights of GoStops Mumbai is undoubtedly its location. Situated in a convenient area, it offers easy access to popular attractions, shopping centers, and public transportation. Whether you're a tourist exploring the city or a business traveler, you'll appreciate the hotel's proximity to key destinations. Additionally, the air conditioning system at GoStops Mumbai worked exceptionally well, providing relief from the city's scorching heat. Mumbai's humid climate can be quite challenging, but the cool air within the hotel was a welcome respite after a long day of exploring the city. Another commendable aspect of this hotel is its clean washrooms. Maintained with utmost hygiene, the bathrooms were regularly cleaned and well-stocked with essentials. It was a relief to find a spotless and functional facility that contributed to a pleasant overall stay. Unfortunately, the aforementioned positives were overshadowed by a major issue I encountered during my stay: bed bugs. I noticed the presence of bed bugs in the blanket, and throughout the night, I suffered from relentless bites and itching. It was an extremely uncomfortable experience that significantly impacted my ability to sleep. I immediately brought this issue to the attention of the staff, but their response was slow and ineffective, leaving me disappointed and frustrated. Considering the serious nature of this problem, it is essential for the management of GoStops Mumbai to address the issue promptly and take necessary measures to ensure a pest-free environment. The presence of bed bugs is a serious concern and can greatly affect the reputation of the hotel. In conclusion, my stay at GoStops Mumbai was a mixed experience. While the hotel boasts a fantastic location, efficient air conditioning, and clean washrooms, the presence of bed bugs was a major drawback. It is my hope that the management will address this issue promptly, as it greatly impacted the overall quality of my stay. Potential guests should be aware of this concern before making a reservation at GoStops Mumbai.

This sucks big time!!! I had booked a stay here for 27th December 2022. Upon arriving at the hostel, I was told bye the receptionist that my bed was booked in girls dormitory. And there are no beds vacant in men’s hostel. It clearly seen not anyone in this hostel, but straight faced denied any accommodation. I was given a number to call and cancel the booking. But no one answered the call. I lost 800/- Real bad experience. I would not suggest this hostel to anyone. If you go just few miles ahead there’s a Welcome Guest House in Byculla, with much better facility and cleanliness and the cost 50% lower to this one.

The location is very nice at this cheaper rate. But the maintenance is pathetic. The rooms are not getting cleaned I guess not even in a year. Bathrooms are shady. The common areas shown in the pictures is heaven and in reality it’s hell. The person who’s managing this is super rude and doesn’t even care about whosoever stays or not. The staff here is not at all cooperative. This place doesn’t even have a cafe. There are even two cats locked on the terrace in a big cage covered with Black plastic sheet. Though they’ve provided a fan and may be food also, but the way these cats are kept is totally not normal. These sort of things only disappoint people who came for a jolly experience. Also they have bed bugs which is lethal. If you are looking for a place to sleep, drink, eat, enjoy, please do not select this.

If you have already stayed in GoStop in any other location then definitely don't keep the same expectations here. The picture and actual place looks completely different. All the furniture is very old and looks pathetic. The common area is one of the main disappointment. The room looked decent and the washroom was clean. No mirrors in the room. At least female dom needs a mirror. So many things need improvement. The location is very close to Masjid local station This is the only good reason to book this stay but the way is not safer for women. When we are returning around 9PM one random person suddenly holds hand in the railway station bridge and starts to ask for money. If you are a solo women traveller or girls trip look for a room near Dadar railway station. It will be easier to reach all nearby tourist places.

Worst experience ever. They show something else in pics and it is way worse than that. Located in a remote shady place. You will be scared even at the entrance it looks like a brothel. No vibe no cleanliness. We had to wait 1 hour for room even after being 3 hours late for check in. The room was the worst space I have ever seen. Forget about services the door knob was broken it was smelling and bathroom was NOT AT ALL CLEAN. I'll save you u some time and money. Don't go to this place you'll end up regretting it more than any other decisions you have ever made for vacations.

Pretty sure most of the good reviews posted here are fake. Hence I'm writing an honest review backed up with photos of proof. I will not recommend this place to anyone. This is one of the dirtiest and unwelcoming hostel I have ever been to. The beds did not have any bedsheets (it was just folded and kept aside). The bed was literally stinking and bathroom was very soiled and full of hair. Thr receptionist guy doesn't speak English and not at all welcoming. Any tourist from outside India or someone who doesn't speak Hindi would find it difficult to communicate. The common area was flooded with flies (probably because they haven't cleaned it in ages). Wifi isn't that good too. Overall a very disappointing experience. I have been to other Gostops and it has been always good. Please don't visit the Mumbai gostops unless you want to get a slum experience.

Wanted to experience hostel once during our travel and we happen to find go stops with good rating. Hence we paid and booked it but for the wrong date. Then called them up and changed the dates accordingly and got a confirmation saying it's successful. When we arrived at the hostel, our bed was not booked in our names. We were asked to pay extra charged for the available room since the bunker beds were occupied. The hostel in itself is very dirty. The bathrooms are not clean and is very small. The building is old and there is not enough space. The premium room with deluxe bed was very basic. Totally disappointed with the cleanliness and management. I really do not recommend this place.

The conditions of shared toilets are very pathetic. Also the rooms are not up to the mark as of other goSTOPS. Even basic things like a full mirror are not available in the room. The pillows are dirty. U can literally see spots on them. Very bad experience. NEVER VISITING AGAIN.

They will just show your dorm or room. They will not guide you or say anything about the property. And there is only one very small tiny common workspace and people will be having food from there too. If you want to just sleep and see places around this is the budget friendly space. But if you are working plus travelling then you should have to find a good workspace available hostels. Also electricity shortage was there.

I chose this hostel because I had been to GoStops Delhi and let me tell you that this hostel doesn't seem at all like a GoStops facility. There is no in house cafe. And the location of the hostel is such that you can't easily get good food anywhere near it. Thought, the local station is quite close to the hostel. In Delhi, they have separate bathrooms inside the dorm itself. Here, there are common bathrooms for all the dorms on one floor. The staff is not at all friendly.l nor are they good at their job. I asked for a towel and they took 36 hours to reply if it's available or not. The locker provided to me was broken. Moreover, they have this strange rule that you can't sit on the terrace after 12 at night. It was a huge turn off for me because the prime attraction of staying in a hostel for me is meeting new people and interacting with them in the common area. In Delhi GoStops, we used to sit in the open common area till 4-5 in the morning. I can't fathom why the same chain have different rules in two different facilities. Overall, the stay was not what I expected. Disappointed.

I have visited this for 3 days and stayed in a mixed dormitory. But I checked the private room too via one of the visitors I got a chance to speak with and he provided me with the details. Dormitory: These are good with a bunker bed laying around in a structural manner. They provide you with a blanket and a bed sheet. There are also curtains on each bunk bed. Also you will get a small fan and a study light inside each bunker bed. Wifi connectivity is superb in this place and you can easily do your office work here. Private room: This contains a double bed, a window, AC, fan, door hook for clothes, and a small storage furniture. The only drawback is these are small in size and don't have an attached bathroom. Private rooms are situated on the 4th and 5th floor and each floor has a common bathroom. Overall experience: 1. It's located near Masjid Bandar just one station before CSMT, and it's not safe to walk here from the masjid station after 9-10pm, so eventually you need to go to CSMT and take a taxi from there. But the issue is 90% of taxis are not willing to go in this area. 2. People here are not maintaining rules in control. You will find people drinking alcohol in the corridor and also smoking cigarettes. Although each floor has a CCTV camera, staff don't take any action. So not a good place to visit along with family. 3. The terrace is a nice place to visit at night and you will get a sea facing view from here.

Worst experience EVER! Rats in the hostel, disgusting pillows for a private room. So much noise because of old AC/fan. Don’t stay here! They didn’t even reimburse my money, even though I cancelled my second night because of the awful experience.

It's a wonderful place. I stayed in the 6-bed dormitory. The room and bathroom were well-maintained. The beds have curtains for privacy. However, one thing the management should be strict about is to ensure no one eats in the room. At least one of my roommates was crunching on chips in the night. There is no point in having so many notice boards all over the hostel asking guests not to eat in the room, if it cannot be enforced. That's why I'm not giving 5 stars. Overall, awesome place.

Rooms: quite small, good ac and fan as it's not too loud, windows are mirrored glass so it keeps light out, cool Indian film art on the wall, only one hanging space and one draw. Could do with a shelf of more hangers in there. Good service, showers were kept clean and replenshished well. Location was tricky getting cabs back to as they only really know landmarks. Outside road is quite a busy main road which leads right down to all galleries and India gate.

I travelled with my girl friends. We had an early check-in without any issues. The rooms were good and the common areas were great. The terrace had a view and was setup very aesthetically. It's a good and cheap option, greatly recommend.

I had the worst experience of a lifetime here. The rooms are nothing as shown in the pictures. This place is a physical as well as mental health hazard. The manager Mehfooz has no manners. They are running it like a school hostel facility. No standard of hospitality is provided. They will force you to isolate in your room and not interact with any of your friends. Dumb rules made by the staff have no grounds of reality. Not worth spending a penny.

Please Do Not Stay Here. They have pathetic bed and worst service of room service. They even dont have proper bathroom . Do not stay here ever. Photos are old and they clicked when they started this stay. Now beds are old and smells very very bad. Even varanda is dirty and watery. People here are very very non cooperative. Even room boy misbehaved every odd minutes. Even Dormitory Location is very difficult to find. Cheap location with cheap people working staff. I found eye teasing was also done by staff towards female.

When we checked in, we were given the wrong beds, which were already occupied. Later, we were given beds which were not cleaned after the previous person checked out. Then, we were given a locker which had a used fork and a half empty coca cola bottle, definitely not cleaned after the previous use. The bedsheets had stains and were torn here and there. The staff, especially one guy, idk his name, was so rude and demanding us around there. The AC was broken and giving out unfiltered air. Let me save you some time and money, please don't go there just to get bullied around by the staff themselves. They really don't care about anything there, the worst experience I've ever had. Gostops Mumbai managed to turn what was supposed to be a good vacation into a nightmare.

As you enter this dingy dull place, you have a very unfriendly staff sitting in a reception which has a footpath for the name of “waiting room” . The rooms for 4 are small enough to make you suffocate and they are smelly. There is one window which is also hidden because they have dumped very ugly lockers right in front of it. AC doesn’t have a remote, you’ve to call for help all the time, the rooms are just not cleaned. Leaving your luggage especially the trinkets and money is not safe. A companion got her money stolen when she returned back. In the name of cameras, they have no footage which could be useful in finding the culprit. In terms of an interactive hostel we can’t really enjoy a stay here because the staff is so orthodox and rude. The washrooms are also stinky and badly maintained. The door doesn’t close and when it does you can’t even open from inside, you’ve to call for help. The area does not feel safe and as a girl it’s not the hostel to stay in. They have strict rules regarding people staying but are careless enough to let people smoke and drink in their rooms and become a nuisance to others. The guy named MEHFOOS ( an employee ) was rude enough to order us around and when finally questioned was changing his statements. The ethics and morale of their very core was questioned by this man’s interrogation with our group. What a bad experience to begin our trip in Mumbai. IF YOU WANT OTHERS TO FOLLOW YOUR ETHICS THEN TEACH YOUR STAFF TO FOLLOW THEM AS WELL. Thank you. Peace.

I got the lower bed, it was not clean, too much dust next to the bed. The bed which I got was used by a girl before me (how I came to know?) The bed sheet was not changed full of long hairs. Personally not recommended untill unless you don't have any other option. Instead of cleaning everything else was very good. 1. The roof was very nice to hang out. 2. Clean bathroom's. 3. Air conditioned. 4. Have reading light and fan for each bed 5. Locker for each bed. 6. Only issue I faced is cleaning Happy holiday and enjoy

Stayed at Go stops Mumbai and loved the location , it’s literally 10 mins away from all the attractions in south Mumbai. And definitely value for money. Besides I forgot my watch in the room before check out, and it was returned to me the same evening. Thank you.

We paid 2k for a private room with shared bathroom and its not worth it at all. We asked the staff to clean the room twice - but at night when we visited our room it was unclean. The AC in the room used to get stuck in between, no mirror in the room to get ready, no table , no cupboard. The rooms were very small. Coming to the bathroom- whenever we wanted to visit the shared bathroom, it was usually occupied by the staff itself and they didn't even care to allow hostellers to use it. Even for getting ready we had to visit the common bathroom as there was no mirror in the room. Entire hostel is very dirty and staff doesn't care about it. Location is not good at all- its located near a slum with no cafes/restaurants nearby, no space for parking. Overall terrible experience with gostays mumbai- rather go for any other hostel or a hotel with same tariff. We were atleast expecting the hostel to be clean and gostays bombay couldn't match our expectations

Bad location. Very shady. Also, doesn't look at all like what pictures show. General wards of government hospitals are better than this. Unprofessional staff. Unsanitary sheets. Thoroughly disappointed. Choose any cheap hotel instead.

The room was clean, very comfortable, and the staff was understanding. Generally, you don't find such cleanliness in dormitories but this place is very well maintained. They provide early check-in if available. Terrace view is amazing.. must take some time to enjoy it Overall, I had a wonderful experience staying at GoStops Mumbai. Highly Recommended!! 5 stars!!

Awesum hostel with great staff who are really helpful. Got both sharing and single rooms which are neat and clean with separate lockers. The terrace and common space is awesome for getting to know new peoples and to spend some quality time. Definitely will be staying here again.

An overall amazing experience ! the staff was warm, accommodating and they go above and beyond to make you feel cared for and safe. The Hostel in general has a great vibe, the rooftop lounge is a very chill hangout;people play music and hangout here, great vibe. no doubt my partner and I will visit here again and again. best option in south Bombay if on a budget. Thank you for a great experience. :) Special thanks to: Mangesh, Milind, Shahbaz and the little guy ;) .. there in house Hero! Almost forgot ! the 3 Persian cats and a Desi Reception Kitty are in house pet therapy whenever required.

The location is good. I took 12 Bed Dorm, beds and rooms were clean. Bathrooms were not the cleanest I have seen but still it was good for a hostel. Rooftop is very good place to sit. If you are travelling in car you can find parking space just opposite to the hostel, but they charge you randomly so be careful with that.

This hostel was an absolute nightmare. The host seemed to delight in making our stay as uncomfortable as possible. They insisted that we couldn't sit together in our rooms, even though everyone was fine with it. The bathrooms were a disaster with no water supply, making it nearly impossible to maintain basic hygiene. The host's bizarre rules included telling us when to sleep and dictating our activities according to their whims. As if that wasn't bad enough, the place was infested with bed bugs, turning our nights into a nightmare. The lockers were so filthy that using them felt like a health hazard. Avoid this hostel at all costs!

Rooms/dorms are clean Curtains for every bed is a plus point to privacy. Roof top has a good vibe Common area is small No attached bathrooms for a dorm, Common to the floor. Overall nice stay if you're travelling alone or a small group. Budget friendly. Has a self-cook kitchen available.

If Google had allowed me 0 stars, I would have rated Gostops 0 ratings for rooms, service, location everything. Starting with rooms. Extremely small and claustrophobic. The bathrooms smell constantly. You won't want to step in. I couldn't take a piss or a bath the whole time there. The common area smells of reek. It seems that the mattresses in common area have never been cleaned or replaced. It was impossible to stand there even for a second because it was so untidy and foul smelling. The common bathrooms gave me nausea the moment I stepped in. Coming to the service, they only have a very rude cleaning lady who changed bedsheets. That's all the service I saw in my tenure. I don't remember anything being serviced. No clean water supply inside dorms. No availability of food anywhere on campus. Bring your own bottle and fill it up from common area. Use the blankets that are used by the previous tenants. Talking about location, I am shocked to read reviews where people are finding the location to be amazing. Really tells me about the sense of people using these gostops. It's a dock area filled with drunken people at night. No decent restaurants around anywhere. The moment you will step on the highly untidy rooftop, you will find you have been duped in the name of location. It's all dock area, damp and untidy. I have a personal account to share in terms of my experience. We had a booking of 4 people for 2 nights. One of the friends had to cancel. I asked for refund, they denied me. It made sense so I accepted. I have a cousin who stays in Mumbai - Mira road area. I called him to stay with us since we had an empty bed. They denied him stay on the account of "local IDs not allowed". It takes more than 1.5 hours to reach from Mira road to this shady area where Gostops is. Gostops general rules cannot be applied to a city like Mumbai. They were completely rude about it. It's like they took our money and didn't let us use the resources forcefully. If GoStops is messing up in the heartbeat city of India, I wonder what are their standards in small cities where they won't be held accountable. I would request people to stay away from gostops always and ever. For Mumbai, we shifted to empire royale hotel near gostops only. Better location, Best service and hygienic common bathrooms. And the drumroll moment, way cheaper than gostops. Our generation needs to stop preaching brand names and encourage local business. Stay away from this shady place. Be safe.

The location is near Masjid local station which is easily accessible. Nice, well maintained and clean rooms. Just that the area around is bit congested as the whole city is, so no complaints about it. Staff was humble and friendly.

Don't go on google photos. There is nothing like seen in pics. Rooms are smelly Bed sheets are of blood stains. No one will come to clean rooms. No room service. It is located in slum area. Risky for girls to stay here and even boys . Robbery chances are high. You can't roam alone in this area because all surrounded is with dockyard all drunk people. Honestly, there is nothing really good about the hostel. The spaces are too cramped up without ample ventilation. There is no designated spot to change clothes. The largest room has about 20 bunk beds. The building is old and not very well kept. Additionally, when I visited in Jan 2023, there were two poor Persian cats left in a cage in the terrace. There was fan attached to the cage but didn’t seem to be in working condition. The cats were very badly kept and a sand box was kept as litter. The cats were left in the scorching heat of Mumbai in the terrace in unhygienic conditions.

I recently stayed in a room at and had a great experience. The room was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space and amenities to make my stay feel like a home away from home. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and made sure that I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. I would definitely recommend this room to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

The host Mehafoos khan was kind of enough to change the room and was friendly. Initially the assigned room had water leakage issues. It is situated quite near railway station and for all other places you can easily access through taxi. It was a great stay with kitchen, dining , roof top and some good books to read!
