This place is a hidden gem nestled in the city. Located inside Dighe village, the approach road is through narrow lanes and there's a short climb to reach this dam. Place is quite serene early before 7:30am, nice and breezy with good sunrise shots. It looks much green during and immediately post monsoon. Good place to come cycling and chill out as it is closer from Airoli and Kalwa area.

Central Railway Dam. This is a Dam built by British in 1886. It is packed between 3 mountain sides on Parsik mountain range while one side by dam wall. This dam is locacted near in Ilthanpada . It is good to see in late october to Feburary. The Dam overflows post rains these times. Be very careful there are no railings and it is wet and slippery especially in rainy and in early winter season.

Beautiful place close to Mumbai

This place is just cut off from the normal hustle of Airoli. A few things to be aware of before visiting this place, thse grounds are best visited during monsoon as the place becomes much more inviting. There are changes to find human excretion in places, hence wearing a shoe is a good practice. Upon asking the locals, they told me, this is a kind of Dam that was build in early 1900's and water from this place goes to Thane Station, do not know the degree of truth kn this story.

Place located in the middle of city. Here you'll find peace in chaos. Beautiful place to chill with your friends. Trekking here is also good which is of beginners level. The level of the dam rises when there is heavy rains so be careful and have check on weather report when you're visiting here.
