Must visit the beach, it is quite large and a good place to build sand castles!! Though during monsoon it remains closed most of the times due to safety reasons.

Marine Drive is a 3.6-kilometre-long Boulevard in South Mumbai in the city of Mumbai, India. The road was constructed by late philanthropist Bhagojisheth Keer & Pallonji Mistry. It is a 'C'-shaped six-lane concrete road along the coast, which is a natural bay. The road links Nariman Point to Babulnath and Malabar Hill. Marine Drive is situated on reclaimed land facing west-south-west. A promenade lies parallel to this road. Marine Drive is also known as the Queen's Necklace because, if viewed at night from an elevated point anywhere along the drive, the street lights resemble a string of pearls in a necklace. The official name for this road, though rarely used, is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road. The promenade is lined with palm trees. At the northern end of Marine Drive is Chowpatty Beach. This is a popular beach famed for its Bhel puri (local fast food). Many restaurants also line this stretch of the road. Further down this road lies Walkeshwar, a wealthy neighborhood of the city, also home to the Governor of Maharashtra. Most of the buildings erected by wealthy Parsis display an art deco style which was popular in the 1920s and 1930s. Among the earliest art deco buildings on Marine Drive were the Kapur Mahal, Zaver Mahal and Keval Mahal, built between 1937 and 1939 for a total cost of 1 million rupees.

Marine Drive Beach, located in Mumbai, India, is a captivating stretch of coastline that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and urban charm. With its picturesque views of the Arabian Sea, lively atmosphere, and iconic promenade, Marine Drive Beach is a beloved destination for locals and tourists alike. The beach is renowned for its crescent-shaped promenade, also known as the "Queen's Necklace" due to the glittering streetlights that resemble a string of pearls at night. Walking along the promenade, one can enjoy breathtaking sunsets, gentle sea breeze, and panoramic vistas of the Mumbai skyline. It's a popular spot for leisurely strolls, joggers, and couples seeking a romantic ambiance. Marine Drive Beach is not a typical sandy beach for swimming or sunbathing, but it offers a serene escape from the bustling city life. Visitors can find numerous benches to relax, soak in the views, and watch the waves crashing against the tetrapods. The beach also hosts several events and festivals, adding a festive spirit to the atmosphere. Along the promenade, there are various food stalls and vendors selling snacks and refreshments, allowing visitors to savor local delicacies while enjoying the beach ambiance. The beach is well-maintained, and cleanliness is given priority, making it a pleasant place to spend time with family and friends. Marine Drive Beach's location in South Mumbai adds to its appeal, as it is easily accessible and close to other attractions like the Gateway of India and Colaba Causeway. Whether you visit during the day or experience the enchanting lights at night, Marine Drive Beach never fails to leave a lasting impression. In conclusion, Marine Drive Beach is a captivating urban oasis that offers stunning views, a lively atmosphere, and a respite from the bustling city. Its iconic promenade, scenic beauty, and convenient location make it a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Mumbai.

Currently road work is running there. Always crowded place. Yesterday their was lake of happy atmosphere. May be it crowded or may be air quality is not good. Anyway it is very good place to relax or relieve stress.
