Girgaon Chowpatty is situated along the Queen’s Necklace adjoining Marine Drive. The beach is also known for an array of lip-smacking street food like Pao Bhaji, Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Kulfi-Faluda, Gola etc. at reasonable rate. The beach is also well-known for Ganesh Visarjan celebrations. Not a very long beach nor very clean but with colourful lights, aroma of street food, calming sound of the sea waves, and attractive local markets, the beach has a lively setting especially in the evening time.

There is a nice beach. Even people in the cleaning support and co-operate a little bit by which the tourists increase. This view is night and it is very nice. I love life in Mumbai.

Go there anytime of the day and you will find people enjoying.. Lively place to visit. Lots of eating options available. However the Beach turns dirty at times due to senseless people throwing bottle and wrappers..Go there early morning and it is very peaceful. Ideal place for spending time with family and kids.

Girgaon Chowpatty (गिरगाव चौपाटी), is a public beach along the Queen’s Necklace adjoining Marine Drive in the Girgaon area of Mumbai, India. It is served by the Charni Road railway station. The beach is noted for its Ganesh Visarjan celebrations when thousands of people from all over Mumbai and Pune come to immerse the idols of Lord Ganesh in the Arabian Sea. It is also one of the many places in the city where the 'Ram Leela' play is performed onstage every year. An effigy of Ravan erected on the sand is burnt at the end of the 10-day performance

Mumbai Chowpatty Beach, also known as Girgaum Chowpatty, is one of the most popular and well-known beaches in Mumbai, India. It is located along the Arabian Sea in the Girgaum area of South Mumbai. The beach is a favorite destination for locals and tourists alike, attracting crowds especially during festivals and evenings. Key features of Mumbai Chowpatty Beach: Sandy Shoreline: The beach offers a wide stretch of sandy shoreline where people come to relax, take leisurely walks, and enjoy the sea breeze. Sunset View: One of the major attractions of Chowpatty Beach is the beautiful sunset view over the Arabian Sea. Many people gather here in the evenings to witness the mesmerizing sight. Street Food: The beach is renowned for its delicious street food offerings. Numerous stalls line the promenade, selling a variety of Mumbai's iconic snacks like bhel puri, pav bhaji, pani puri, and more. The local flavors make it a popular foodie destination. Festivals and Events: During festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi and Gudi Padwa, Chowpatty Beach becomes a hub of celebrations. Many cultural events, fairs, and processions take place here during these festive times. Local Activities: You can also find various activities like camel and horse rides, balloon sellers, and sometimes even small amusement rides for children along the beach. Connects to Marine Drive: Chowpatty Beach is connected to the famous Marine Drive, a prominent boulevard known for its beautiful sea-facing promenade. Religious Immersions: The beach is often used for immersing idols during certain religious ceremonies, such as Ganesh Visarjan (idol immersion) after the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. It's important to note that while Mumbai Chowpatty Beach offers a vibrant and lively atmosphere, it may not be suitable for swimming due to strong currents. Visitors are advised to be cautious and avoid venturing into the water. Overall, Mumbai Chowpatty Beach is a must-visit destination in the city, providing a blend of beachside relaxation, tasty street food, and cultural experiences.

The action starts at night at this famous beach, which is lined with vendors, entertainers, children's rides and fast food stalls selling bhelpuris (puffed rice snacks) and other Indian delights.

Too much dirty and Cheap beach, it is the Splendor of Mumbai so it should be cleaned, but the visitors makes it dirty by throwing packets and other wastage, and specially there is a big hand of the people of hindu community in making the beach dirty because garbage is thrown by everyone but the people of hindu community put their god's sculptures there, the most dirty beach of Mumbai.

Not worthy of visiting in afternoon. You should visit early morning or in evening . No proper management , lots of garbage here and there , no caretaker there . Alcoholic people or junkies roaming around you .

We've been visiting the beach since childhood. It's much cleaner and organised now with the food plaza organised at one side. Weekend evenings can be crowded. Mornings are great for a stroll. Seen presence of lifeguard too, which is good. Lot of memories, Anando milk shop is one of them. Some great wall art too, behind the food stalls.

Juhu Beach is located on the shores of the Arabian Sea. It stretches for six kilometres up to Versova. The short, rocky formations make up the Juhu Beach unlike the Marina Beach in Chennai that is primarily sandy. It is a tourist attraction throughout the year and is also a destination for shooting films. The beach generally gets more crowded on weekends and public holidays. The food court at its main entrance is known for its 'Mumbai style' street food, notably bhelpuri, pani puri and sev puri. Horse-pulled carriages used to offer joyrides to tourists for a small fee but have been banned now. Acrobats, dancing monkeys, cricket matches, toy sellers,Youth are playing old games vie for tourist's attention. The beach is among the most popular sites in the city for the annual Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations where thousands of devotees arrive in grand processions, carrying idols of the Lord Ganesh of various sizes, to be immersed in the sea at the beach. Juhu Beach is also a common spot for plane spotting as a portion of it lies underneath the departure path from Runway 27 and occasionally, the arrival path from Runway 09 of Mumbai Airport. There are several small entrances to the beach throughout the stretch, however the main and most used entrance is near Hotel Ramada Plaza By Wyndham Palm Grove. The best time to visit Juhu Beach is from September to May, as during the monsoon period of June to August the tide is mostly high which makes it dangerous to wander around on the beach

Happy that this 🏖Beach is still there in the prime locations. Chowpatty is relaxing place to visit. On weekends it is crowdy ao I'll suggest to go in week days that too after sunset to enjoy the cool breeze of air.

Girgaun chopaty is a popular destination among tourists. Located in South Mumbai, it can be reached from CST station or Gateway by taxi which would cost roughly 75 rupees. Nearest local station is Charni Road. The beach is not very clean and remains overcrowded on Sundays and holidays. Kids can play with sand or you can just walk in to the sea. Taking a dip is avoidable. Near by Marine Drive looks majestic in the evening and you can enjoy your walk. Street food is available which includes the famous Bada Pav, Bhel Puri and ice creams. Even Chinese dishes are served. Not sure if proper taste or hygiene could be found. Overall a place worth an evening. However if you want to really enjoy sea waters, better to travel Alibagh or Kasid, a distance of approximately 125 kms from Mumbai which takes 4hours roughly, but worth going.

People just throwing garbage. I can understand everyone is hungry and they have not cooked food at home. But if you are educated then at least collect your own garbage and throw it in garbage bin. I don't think people are as educated as they claim to be.
