A beautiful place with historic importance, although not at all respected by the visiting crowd. The fort is fully commercialised and is flooded with couples extravagantly showing off their love. The garden beside is also beautiful with flowering trees, but yet again bushes around here are always keeping a couple stranded. Would not visit again for sure.

Bandra Fort is one of best places to visit in Bandra. It is a reflection of history and one could get nostalgic. Bandra Fort offers a beautiful view of sunset, Bandra-Worli sea link and the sea. It usually has a good crowd and can be a great option to visit in the evenings. Bandra Fort opens from 6 am to 6 pm strictly. The guards do not allow anyone to enter after 6 pm at all. The cleaning crew starts their cleaning process once everybody inside to made to leave by 6-6:30pm. Other than a panoramic view, Bandra Fort also has a couple of gardens with beautiful flowers. There is also a couple park at the end of fort which is not recommended for families and children.

Quite a memorable visit.Found the place to be well-maintained.The sealink view is absolutely mind-blowing and we were quite fortunate to go on a quite windy monsoon morning and see the waves lashing the rocks. The only sore sight is the large number of lovestruck couples sitting everywhere indulging in PDA without caring a damn for the crowds. There are couple of seats installed from where we can get the magnificent view of the waves with the sealink . Quite a good place for excellent photography, but please don't go overboard as standing on the edges can be life threatening. So be careful and don't get carried away to get good shots. There is also a well maintained garden attached to the place which was omitted from our visit as found a bit of crowd there and so felt unsafe during the pandemic, but from far it looked good. The most astonishing sight was the fully air conditioned toilet just behind the bus stand charging₹5/- for gents and ₹10/- for females. However it's worth as the place is well maintained and stink free. Parking is a big no-no as didn't find any parking lot.Though there were many autos and taxis available ferrying to bus stand, elco market, linking road etc. Also there is a bus stop. Many food stalls selling reasonable tea, sandwiches, sev puri are there near the bus stop. Please ensure that whenever you visit the place try early morning as the feel of this place is worth losing out your beauty sleep. DON'T LITTER.

This place is really good for morning activities like jogging/yoga or any other fun games, you can hangout with friends etc. Morning sunrise looks so beautiful from this point, the fresh air all around the place and there's this peace of mind if you sit calmly and listen to the waves of the sea.

A very beautiful place filled with lots of people. You can see the Sea link very vividly. You can get down through the stones near the water. The view is lovely! When I visited this place, it was moderately crowded but when you sit and look at the view, it gets completely quite and peaceful. A good time to go here would be during sunsets. The best part is that the water, land, stones, nature in general is being taken care of. There are bins available in frequent intervals. There are small shops for water, snacks, ice creams, etc.

The place is very awesome. But the environment inside this fort or in the garden is not for family. You will find many couples sitting together in one other's lap and kissing. I suggest the government to take action against these couples. Because of them you can't go with your family.

A place that will definitely. refresh your mind. It's a beautiful spot where couples go after clicking for wedding post photographs. If you are going with a car, you can park before entering the Fort and it will cost 60 rupees. They start charging for parking from 8 am. So if you go before 8 am then you can visit the place without spending a parking fee.Early morning volume to this plus will be refreshing for you, most millionaire author. Castella de Aguada (corruption of Castelo da Aguada, Portuguese for "Fort of the Waterpoint"), also known as the Bandra Fort, is a fort located in Bandra, Mumbai. "Castella" is a misspelling for Portuguese "Castelo" (castle), although it seems its Portuguese builders actually called it Forte de Bandorá (or Bandra Fort). It is located at Land's End in Bandra. It was built by the Portuguese in 1640 as a watchtower overlooking Mahim Bay, the Arabian Sea and the southern island of Mahim.[1] The strategic value of the fort was enhanced in 1661 after the Portuguese ceded the seven islands of Bombay that lay to the immediate south of Bandra to the English.[2] The name indicates its origin as a place where fresh water was available in the form of a fountain ("Aguada") for Portuguese ships cruising the coasts in the initial period of Portuguese presence. The fort lies over several levels, from sea level to an altitude of 24 metres (79 ft).[1] Castella de Aguada has been featured in several Hindi films, such as Dil Chahta Hai and Buddha Mil Gaya The Portuguese, who had established a base in the area in 1534 after defeating Bahadur Shah of Gujarat, built several sea forts along the western Indian coastline. Castella de Aguada was one such strategically located fort, overlooking the Mahim Bay to the south, the Arabian Sea to the west, the islands of Worli to the south and the town of Mahim to the south west. The fort also guarded the northern sea route into Mumbai Harbour. This sea route, a large estuary, was later reclaimed from the sea in the nineteenth century. During the Portuguese rule, it was armed with seven cannons and other smaller guns as defence.[4] A freshwater spring in the vicinity supplied potable water to passing ships, thus lending the fort its name.[1] After the decline of the Portuguese in the early 18th century, the Marathas became the largest threat to British possessions. Sensing an impending Portuguese defeat, the British partially demolished the fort as a precautionary measure. The demolition would obviate the possibility of the fort being captured by the Marathas, with the possibility of it being used as a forward military base to attack British Bombay.[5] In 1739 the island was invaded by the Marathas; it was ruled by them until 1774 when the British gained possession of the area during the First Anglo-Maratha War. In 1830, the British donated large parts of Salsette Island, including Land's End (Click to view the Photosphere), to Byramjee Jeejeebhoy, a Parsi philanthropist. Jeejeeboy then established his residence on the hill where the fort is located, and the cape was renamed Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Point.[ 2003, a conservation program was started by Bandra Band Stand Residents’ Trust to save the fort. It was spearheaded by a local Member of Parliament (MP), Shabana Azmi, who funded part of the effort from her allotted funds. The brick arch of one of the gateways on the verge of collapse, and the foundation masonry of the fort wall that was in danger of tidal erosion were repaired. The nearby Taj Land's End hotel is responsible for maintenance of the fort, having inherited it from the previous owners.[1] The fort is owned by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Included in the fort makeover are the preservation of the natural rock formations, providing pathways, and the creation of an amphitheatre. The architect for the makeover was P.K. Das, who had earlier redesigned the Carter Road area

Bandra Fort, also known as Castella de Aguada, is a historical fort located in Bandra, Mumbai, India. It is situated on a hill overlooking the Arabian Sea, and its strategic location provides panoramic views of the surrounding area. Here are some potential aspects to consider when it comes to the morning view at Bandra Fort: 1. Sunrise view: Being situated on the western coast of Mumbai, Bandra Fort offers a picturesque view of the sunrise over the Arabian Sea. The morning sky can showcase vibrant colors as the sun rises, creating a scenic and tranquil atmosphere. 2. Sea view: The fort's elevated position provides an expansive view of the Arabian Sea and the coastline. On a clear morning, you can witness the sparkling waters and the vastness of the sea, which can be a captivating sight for nature lovers and photographers. 3. Cityscape: Apart from the sea view, Bandra Fort also offers a glimpse of the surrounding cityscape. You can see the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Bandra skyline, and other landmarks from the fort, creating a unique blend of nature and urban views. 4. Serene ambiance: Morning hours at Bandra Fort are generally less crowded compared to later in the day, offering a peaceful and serene ambiance. It can be an ideal time to enjoy the beauty of the fort, soak in the tranquility, and reflect amidst historical surroundings. It's worth noting that the actual experience and view can vary depending on weather conditions, time of year, and personal preferences. It's always a good idea to check the weather forecast and plan your visit accordingly to maximize the chances of having a pleasant morning view at Bandra Fort.

    1. It is good place to see bandra-worli sea link. 2. There is not much to see as fort, nothing left except couple of wall. 3. You can smell sea breez and have view of the sea and sea link. 4. There is garden as well where you can seat and relax. Garden is full of youngster couple and their private chit chat. 5. You can walk around and touch the sea water. 6. You can have snacks around. 7. No entry free. 8. Car and bike parking very limited and unauthorized. There is public taxi parking where private car and bike parked. You need to pay some amount who manage this parking area. I pay 30 rs. For an hour. However this is not authorized parking, still people parked and go to bandra fort is very common practice. No recipt of the parking. 9. Bollywod actor Mr. Shahrukh khan house is near by attraction and you can click pictures near his house. 10. You can spend 1 to 2 hrs. at this place.

Bandra fort is located near to beach, the view of sea links and sea shore is superb from here...you can spend time here in evening and entry is allowed till 7-7.30PM in evening only and entry is free. You will witness a superb sunset view if weather permits. There is lot of shops available near by and share auto to bandra station. This fort area is mostly crowded on weekend and very humid.you can see my uploaded pics of sunset here.

One of the public places in Mumbai that have opened up after the lockdown has been eased. I had been there on a Sunday evening. The place was moderately crowded. I would suggest you directly head to the Bandra fort rather than hanging out at the Bandstand promenade. It gets very crowded. But the only thing is that the fort and the park near it closes at 6 pm. The places gives you the best view of the sea and the Bandra Worli sea-link. There is no restrictions, you can go beyond the promenade on to the rocks. As there were not many cars parked, you easily park your car near the Taj Lands End hotel. Free parking is available. There are two small shops also open just outside the park. You could pick up chips, soft drinks, water, etc.

The place so good to hangout but there’s so much of crowd. It’s an awesome location with the natural air and the scenario was also good like to sit on the rocks and see the Sea and also here u can see the Sea Link ends that’s little like a evergreen selfies or photos taking place downward the Bridge. A garden is also here and broken forts structures are also there, that’s not in good condition but all over its an one of the best place to go for hangout with friends.

I really liked this place, basically you can find so many things. It's a perfect place for nature lover, morning walk, yoga as this place is surrounded by dense trees. You must enjoy the panoramic view of sea along with Harbour link bridge. Also there is garden which is rich in flora and fauna. You might spot beautiful creatures as I found one. Best time to visit this place is in morning hours or at evening during sunset.

By the Gulf of Mahim, the Bombay Islands were separated from the mainland. This area was very important in history because of the trade that ran through Mahim's Gulf. In order to protect this area, the Portuguese built "Bandraya Fort" on the isthmus of Sashti Island in the year 1640 and made permanent arrangements for the protection of this area. Bandra Fort has been repaired by the Archaeological Department. So the fort looks very beautiful. A Portuguese inscription is carved at the entrance to the fort. After seeing it and entering the fort, there is another entrance on the left hand side. From this entrance there are steps leading to the fort. A garden has been created in the fort by the society 'Bandra Land and Garden'. There are no other ruins left in the fort. Alight at Bandra Station of Western Railway towards West and take Best Bus or Rickshaw to "Bandra Band Stand". From there, the historical fort of Bandra stands next to the Taj Land End Hotel. Black fort, Riva fort, Sion's fort are all three forts located in Sion. All these three forts can be seen in half a day. Along with these three forts, Shivdi Fort, Worli Fort, Mahim Fort, and Bandra Fort can be seen in one day if you have your own vehicle.

The Bandra fort is a historical place. This fort was built by the Portugese to help protect the main land and later was in the control of the British. Now the fort is in ruins. A garden with a lot of biodiversity has been developed and this makes the place enchanting. A few water ponds with lotus and other water flowering plants find a place.

It's a scenic place to visit in Mumbai❤It's located in Bandra West, near Bandstand. When i visited it had timing from 4pm and onwards, also It's open in early morning.I would suggest to visit bandra fort in early morning or after 5pm because of humid climate and warm sea breezes...Nice place for photography. This was on my bucket list and i absolutely loved here !!! Must visit place in Bandra❤

Weird place. Don't come here expecting peace or a serene atmosphere. It's not the place. Lots of people. All kinds of people. You can get a good view of the Bandra Worli sea link. That's the only thing. It's an old construction, no doubt. The fort. But nothing special. It's all somewhat ruined. And really dirty. People litter the place even more. Also, beware of pickpocketers and thieves!

It's a beautiful place which has the most scenic view of sea and Sealink. Fresh cold breeze and the best time to visit is early morning.

Bandra Fort also known as "Castella de Aguada" means Fort of Water point. It was built by the Portuguese in 1640. This is now a famous hangout site for Mumbai people. From the fort your can have a nice view of Arabian ocean and the Bandra–Worli Sea Link bridge. During low tide the rocky beach beside the fort can me a attractive place. This is one of the best sunset point of Mumbai.

Beautiful place where definitely romance is in the air when you know SRK lives just close by... Sea water is not so clean but great place to hang out. Try not eating around the place due to pandemic. Overall, you would love the place!

One of the best place for young couples to spend eve. If you are single, better you don't go there in evening! May the things you see there will make you hate your single life!

  • 4/5 Ismail S. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful location, just rt across the Bandra worli sea link, one can compare an old civil marvel with a new one, the fort has a good sea view, there aren't any tickets yet but I wish the government should take charge and improve the infrastructure, the beach could be cleaned, make it into a better weekend outing spot.

  • 4/5 Sateesh S. 2 years ago on Google
Small fort, like boating place only, with 50 steps you can climb and have nice view of sunset and sea link.. Evening is best time, weekends more crowded and traffic also high near that area. You can sit on beach side stones and take good photos and videos, along with sun set and Bandra sea link.. 630 is closing time , you need to reach within that time otherwise they don't allow you inside. Just beside Taj hotel is there..

A place with good view. No entry fee. It's a good place to calm yourself. One can have some adventure by climbing over the rocks and moving towards the other side. The only drawback is that this place smells bad.

  • 5/5 Nishant R. 2 years ago on Google
It's not preserved like Heritage but this is good point for couples as well lovers to spend quality time as it is also known as lovers point. You can enjoy sea ⛵ also from this point. Just beside this fort there is beautiful garden which is amazing place to soothe your soul with your soulmate.

  • 3/5 Avi N. 1 year ago on Google
Great views of bandra worli sealink from the fort. Worth a visit for tourist if you like the scenery and to click some get pictures and videos. This place is extremely dirty, trash everywhere, many young couples behaving dirty sitting in the park in this fort, such nasty people coming to this place doing nasty things. Looks like it’s not monitored by the government. Not recommended for kids and families. If you don’t mind these nasty couples, this is a wonderful place to click pictures. Free admission, no ticket. #IndiaTrip #Mumbai

A good place to click pictures and have fun. Basically you will find couples here. The water here stinks little bit but view is very good. One can have good splash . You can also have sea link view from here. No entry fee.

I cam to this place for the very 1st time today after staying in Mumbai for more than 15 years. Absolutely loved this place. Stunning view of the Arabian Sea on one side... And on the other side you can see the iconic Bandra Worli Sea Link with sky scrappers in the background... One star less is just because of the fact that there was quite a bit of litter inside the premises... I think the authority shouldn't allow anyone to come with food inside... And also the food vendors should be kept at bay... At least outside the entrance... Rest all are really good...

  • 4/5 Shyamji 1 year ago on Google
Good place to spend some peaceful time and taking stunning photographs. Entry is free and favourable for youth and elderly. Taking children👪 is not advisable because of over comfortable couples👩‍❤️‍👨 😜 But the view from here is so special. Parking should not be a problem here even on weekends. One should surely enjoy the sunset.

It's a nice place to enjoy the sea view early in the morning or to catch a glimpse of sunset. View of Bandra Worli Sea Link is so beautiful to watch. Many people come here for exercise, photo shoots or to just chill with friend's.The place is so peaceful that you can enjoy each moment over here.If you go at the top of the fort then the view will be great.

Bandra fort is a part of our colonial history. Of course the vista has now changed completely with the Bandra Worli sealink bridge. It is very beautiful and quite nice to spend an afternoon sitting under the green trees watching the constant churning of the waves.

Very good place to take your friends, family, your beloved ones. You will not get bored here at all. Sea- Link will constantly gaze your attention from here. Closes at 06:30 pm keep in mind. Once you leave that place, there's Bandstand to walk & have deep conversations & to capture the late Summer Sunset in the mighty Arabian Sea & also near Bandstand there are some celebrity bungalows of which Mannat is well known for the reasons we know, of course !!

  • 4/5 Meghna D. 9 months ago on Google
Nice place for a evening walk. Avoid Bandra Fort during the afternoon, as it gets too unbearably sunny. The view is truly beautiful and it is a popular place for movie shootings. The only negative point about this place is the slums around it which emit a horrible stench. Other than this, it's a one-time visit site :)

  • 4/5 Sampad S. 9 months ago on Google
A relaxing place to spend the lazy afternoons. You can see a great panoramic view of the sea link and South Mumbai. A Fort is there but the best experience is to just sit on the benches and listen to the waves.

  • 5/5 Ravi Kumar G. 8 months ago on Google
One of my favourite places in Mumbai. Stunning view of the Bandra worli sea link and Mumbai’s skyline in the backdrop. The rest of the view is completed by the arabian sea. Sunsets are the best here. Just reach by 3pm and chill till sunset. Don’t miss out on the special channa sold here. Great location for pictures and video shoots.

  • 5/5 Hussain V. 9 months ago on Google
One of the best places to experience Mumbai. This place has a fort, seashore, garden, sealink view and what not. You can enjoy the spectacular view of the Arabian sea, Sealink which is passing from nearby, visit the fort, or simply relax in the garden area. The best time to visit would be in the morning or in the evening considering the heat in Mumbai. It is also simple to reach here, you just need to get down at Bandra station, exit from the west side, take a shared auto and they will drop you here in 40 or 50 rupees. From here you can also walk towards the Bandstand promenade and enjoy the breeze, spectacular views, visit Shahrukh and Salman Khan houses on the way and reach the end where Hill Road starts where you can do all the shopping and eating.
