One of the oldest Irani places in Mumbai and still serves one of the best Bun maska and chai. The place is usually crowded no matter what time you visit this. Taste and quality has been consistent and good. Taste is awesome. Overall environment is energetic. All type of crowd gather here. Staff is polite and helpful. The journey is incomplete without having a chai and bun maska. Hands down the best place to eat Keema pav & Bun Maska. For a non vegetarian, this cafe is a paradise, offering countless delicious options to choose from. Chicken and Mutton Biryani is served only on Friday and that's too during lunch and dinner hours. Good food at reasonable prices. Go ahead for traditional Mutton keeema, Omelette and Cutlets. Great place to visit. This place is already very famous worth the hype i feel. And would like to visit again and again to try out different dishes

The food is Okish. If you are the one who is trying Irani Cuisine for 1st time than the taste would be great.💯 But if you have tried alot of Irani Cafes, than definitely you can feel the difference. The old rustic look of Cafe is very good.❤️ Kheema Pav and Chicken Cuttlets are best. Also try Caramel Custard it's best❤️

A restaurant that attracts crowds only by the hype created by influencers. Except history there's nothing to boast about. One has to really try hard to catch the attention of a waiter to place an order. They are all in their own little worlds. Ordered kheema, burji, pav and tea. Food was not at all tasty and was served in chipped crockery. Hygeine is questionable. Wash basin is almost in the kitchen, not looking clean at all. Prices were high for a restaurant of this stature. If you are looking for Irani food, there are better options in the city.

I've been going to this place for years and the quality and taste remain the same. Awesome! With its old world charm and aroma to make you salivate. My personal favourite is the kheema fry.

Aga Irani the owner ushered me in with utmost love and respect and brought me the kheema pulav himself. The kheema was spicy and tasty. The tea and bun maska was good. Very reasonable and worth thousand times of the expensive joints around He also let me stay for a long time in cafe after he found out I was waiting for a bus which was long time away ! Unheard of in a busy Irani Cafe . Charming place, love the no frills authentic Irani vibe. Definitely coming back whenever possible

First thing first, the taste of dishes are awesome. Though there are many Irani restaurant in town but I insisted to visit this. In first look it was small but to get a place to seat was very easy. I enjoyed mutton keema and Pao. My encounter with Keema in an Irani restaurant was awesome. I loved this. The food was tasty. And most importantly this place is inexpensive and I enjoyed my breakfast with team mate just under Rs 300/-. Services were very good and staffs were very helpful. Utensils were clean. If you consider yourself a traveller you must visit this and share the experience. I advice to go once and check.

Delicious mutton kheema par adu with pav. Raspberry pallonji that reminds of childhood cough syrup and a good hearted owner. The gaza (traditional Irani sweet made of camel milk) is very sticky textured like a chewing gum.

I visited this irani cafe for the first time & experience was quite blissful. It's a cozy, vintage Iranian cafe. The food - chai, bun-muska, Egg Burji, Chiken Puff, Irani Kebab, Chicken Keema , Pudding etc was all really tasty and affordable too. Overall a satisfying experience and a must try for others. Lady owner is Very Friendly n Polite. Do visit if you haven't yet..

Mumbai has of late, witnessed the unfortunate closure of several historical establishments, which have been around for at least 50 years or more. Some of the iconic places to have shut down include Rhythm House,  Café Samovar, and a slew of what were once quintessential breakfast-n-brunch joints, the Irani and Persian Cafes: Bastani & Co., Café Naaz, etc. Thankfully, Cafe Colony at Dadar, among the last of the bastions, is still very much in business. This quaint cafe with its old world charm mostly sticks to original Persian recipes, along with the ever popular Brun & Bun Maska, Tea, flavoured sodas found only in Irani cafes, and several finger-licking omelette variants. Some of their most loved dishes include Mutton Kheema, Special Paya, Chicken Curry and Chicken and Mutton Biryani. the legendary chicken biryani found its way into folklore, when it was cooked in bulk for the wedding of Dr Ambedkar’s grandson. Most food preparations are done in an open kitchen. Café Colony has been around for a long time, 85 years to be precise. The typical wooden chairs, the glass-topped wooden tables, and the simple yet elegant checked floor tiles, all bear testimony to this rich slice of history. In fact, Café Colony has been around for almost as much time as is the Tilak Bridge, on whose East end it is located. So all you history and heritage buffs, go ahead and partake of this unmatched experience!!!!

You get the yesteryear 70s feel as you enter and then you calmly settle down in the wooden chairs placing your arms on the wooden tables thinking those were the times! Personal favorites include Chicken Biryani which is available on select Fridays, because mostly people prefer Mutton Biryani. But Chicken Biryani and Mutton Biryani are like Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan, one can't choose between the two! Rest assured, there is no item at this place which you will not relish, the Nazariyan family has been spreading love through Iranian cuisine since ages...and they know their customers, they'll not forget you even if you visit after a long time! Best desert would be the Irani Pudding, have it fresh hot or at room temperature, the taste still remains mesmerizing 😍 7 Stars to Cafe Colony ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ...and ask to be added to their WhatsApp group for regular updates!

I visited irani cafe for the first time , i must say the experience was quite blissful, the ambience was quite happening, the songs that were being played, the food - chai, bun, chicken keema , pudding etc was all really tasty and fairly affordable. I even had the sweet raspberry soda which was refreshing. Overall a satisfying experience and a must try for others.

A blink and you miss Irani café at the end of Tilak Bridge in Dadar East. Last of the few Irani cafes in Mumbai. I had ordered Akuri (parsi scrambled egg) and chicken nuggets both were well made...but the Cafe is poorly maintained and feels unhygienic. The staff there too seem least bothered about wiping the tables after anyone has left. The owne, a lovely old parsi uncle who spoke very sweetly greeted me at the cash counter and yes they accept only cash so no UPI or any digital payment. The Cafe has a lot of patrons who come for the chai and bun mask, so it is definetly doing decent business. I hope they do something about the maintaining the Cafe and pay attention to hygiene.

Had Maska Pao, Bheja Fry, Mutton Keema with Irani Chai. All decent but there was nothing special about the food. The ambience of the place will however transport you to the late 90’s with the look of an old dingy tea stall. So if that is something that you’re are looking for then this is the place. The owner offered us a Shikanjabi drink which had a very unique sweet yet tangy syrupy flavour. Overall a good experience.

Absolutely our family favorite Irani Cafe and a must visit on our to do list whenever we are visiting Mumbai from USA. Love love love the Kheem pav, omelette pav, and the French toast bread. The chai is just out of the world and love to pair it with bun maska and Khari. In the USA we don’t have Irani cafes nor the food so we really miss it when we are back. We Always get excited when we plan to come to Mumbai as we know we will def visit this cafe and eat all tue delicious food. Highly recommend 😊😊

I have been a regular visitor to this cafe before Covid, and it used to be my go-to spot for keema pav and bun maska chai. They used to serve one of the tastiest keema in town. Recently, I revisited the cafe with high hopes for a similar experience, but to my dismay, the quality seems to have declined. While the bun maska remains delicious and pairs perfectly with their regular chai (I suggest avoiding their special chai), I must admit my disappointment with the keema and eggs.

I you want visit a old world Irani hotel at Dadar, this is the place to go. It still maintains the vintage charm with chequered floor and carved wooden chairs and table. The menu includes typical Irani items like bread pudding and custard dishes follows by Irani tea straight from a copper boiler Should not miss this place

Yet another Irani cafe checked off the list ✅ In dadar jst near the circle ... This place is open till 9pm service is quite weird as we couldn't tell who exactly was waiting the tables and it took time for ordering... place is CASH only. Important: this place is quite unhygienic as we asked for extra plate and they gave us one poorly cleaned plate prices are quite affordable mutton keema for 140/- pav 6/pc taste of keema is quite unique and is more spicier.... I still retain the best keema of irani cafes to the one from kyani and co. so far vibe of this place is surely authentic and vintage , so for those who enjoy such vibes will feel at home

Great place to go if you're looking for having some traditional irani food Pros: Good traditional food (Bun maska and Chai) , Good ambience, good service, good crowd, good cleanliness Cons: You can find better tasting Irani good in the city. (Had 'Bejha Fry' it was too stong for my taste tasted a bit rawry lacking masala), Parking is an issue (ofcourse as it's Dadar TT take a two wheeler if you have one)

A really beautiful café. It's one that is very close to my heart personally as it was one of the locations where I had shot some sequences for my first directorial short film in 2018. Piping hot Irani chai, coffees, bun maska, kheema pav is all you need once you step in over here. What makes this place really warm are the people working over here. I hope everyone gets a chance to visit this humble café atleast once.

Authentic Irani Cafes are sacred considering there dwindling numbers in the city. This is one such Authentic Irani Cafe/Bakery. Dining space is crowded and number of seats are less, so u may have to share your table with strangers. Food is authentic. Even a simple Bun Maska+Chai tastes heavenly. Portions are decent considering the price. Please ensure you have cash before u step in, as like other Irani Cafes they only accept Cash(NO CARD/UPI PAYMENTS).

Good food, good Ambience feels like you have travelled back in time because of the unique old time furniture. I tried Bun maska pav, bheja fry, malai sugar, chai, mava cake it's really good must try items...kheema masala was ok i felt like the masala was too strong and oily which can be improvised..Rest all items were good 👍 if you wanna try Irani food then must visit this place. Overall good experience the owners were also very friendly and welcoming 👍😊 thumbsup

Very average food. The mutton kheema was nothing like Irani kheema should be. It was heavy on red chilli and spicy for no reason. The bheja fry had the same masala as the kheema. The caramel custard was ok. The owner wasn't rude or anything like that. But had this sullen grumpy expression. No smile !

It's a typical Irani cafe where you will get all their signature dishes. But the service is poor. You have to wait atleast 15-20 minutes even if you have ordered just tea or bun-mhaska. It is not at all recommended to visit this place if you want to grab some quick snacks. Rates are also on bit higher side than other Irani cafes. So.. if you are in dadar.. have plenty of time and want to have bun-mhaska or nonveg dish it's a place you can consider.

The kheema pav is super awesome, tasty, yummy. The interior of the cafe is quite okay but the food is really good. I have tired almost everything from the cafe, right from khema pav to french toast. Even the tea is superb. Also one of the best part of the cafe is the owner the uncle who is sweet and really great. His passion to serve tasty food to his customer hasn't gone even at the age of 80.

Escalated prices, as compared to other Iranian restaurants in South Mumbai, they forget that they are not catering to floating customers like kooler or gulshan. But the residents of Hindu colony, their permanent customer, after getting the insignificant midday award, not connected with catering industry they kept jacking up the prices including bread loafs, now most of their customers have migrated to B.C. stores, and other joints, one thing they should learn that nobody is indispensable, one can do without them.

Food was good. Specifically Khima pav is tasteful. I ordered Bhurji pav. Tastes good but I feel some tomato got rotten. And they never add chopped coriander. Seating arrangement is little uncomfortable and narrow.
